Happy Birthday

Hello. Playing along with the challenge Woodblock Wednesday with this Birthday card.

My old woodblock stamp is from Impress Cards and Crafts (retired) which used to be a local stamp store for me. Unfortunately, they closed their 3 locations and now have an online store, link above. I sure miss the store in Tukwila - when traffic was bad going home, I'd hop off the freeway and spend an hour looking at all their wonderful inventory.  I'd also spend way too much money there too! LOL.

I used Simon Says Stamps pawsitively ink to stamp the flowers. The birthday sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

Christmas lights

Hello. Practicing my watercoloring on this Christmas light card. Thought it came out halfway decent and made it into a card.

Mei Liang watercolors on Artisto watercolor paper are used on this card. To get the shape, I used a die cut to trace the light bulbs out lightly with a pencil so that I had something to start with. I believe the die is a retired one from My Favorite Things.  I did get a lot of inspiration over on YouTube with many watercolor artists doing the same thing but from scratch. I cannot draw, so that is why I used a die to get me started. The bulbs are good, but I still need a bit of work on how to get the glow below them. LOL.

Adding this into the CAS colours and Sketches. I used sketch #507 but turned it on the side and did not include a sentiment.

Thank you

Hi all. Moving on from Holiday cards......Here's one I created with the Sketch over at Sunday Stamps today.

The embossing folder is from Spellbinders. I used the CZ Thank you dies from Simon Says Stamps and cut them out of black cardstock and doubled it up for dimension.  Used a bit of black and white gingham ribbon on the right-hand side as called out in the sketch.

I love how crisp and CAS this turned out.

Thinking of you

Hello! Welcome to another challenge over at The Flower Challenge blog.  We want you to use gold this month - here is the card I created.

I used copic markers on this Pink Fresh rose image after heat embossing in gold. I also used the coordinating dies to cut it out and pop it up on my card. The sentiment is from Purple Onion Designs and it is also heat embossed with gold.

Here is the cue card for this month’s challenge.

Happy Holidays

Hello. Playing in the Freshly Made Sketch challenge #615 today.

I adjusted the sketch a bit and went with some greenery instead of the circle. The plaid designer paper is from Memory Box. The fresh-cut pine dies are from Jillian Vance Designs. The sentiment is from Echo Park and cut out using the stitched tag die from MFT.

The plaid paper has a bit of gold running through it so I used gold cording to tie the bow on the tag. I used linen cardstock from PTI on the card base and the tag.

Christmas Cheer

Hello everyone. Here is your mid-month reminder about our current challenge going on over at The Flower Challenge blog.

Here is another card that I created, which is to use gold.

I used a poinsettia die from SSS to cut out the flower and leaves. Then added some gold using some gilding wax.  The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday and is embossed with gold and layered with gold mirrored cardstock. I also added some gold self-adhesive pearls and gold sparkle embroidery thread.

Wreath cards

Hello. Made a few Holiday cards using this lovely die from Lawn Fawn.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts and heat embossed in gold. I used light and dark green cardstock and switched up the orders to get two for one, if you will. I also added a bit of sparkle on the berries with a bit of a wink of Stella.

Entering these into the following challenges.

Trio of butterflies

Hello everyone. It’s time for a new sketch challenge over at Try Stamping On Tuesdays.

The butterfly collage stamp is from Unity.  I stamped another two, colored both with Copic's, and fussy cut out two of the butterflies to pop up on the card. The script embossing folder is an old one from Provo Craft.

Winter snowflake mittens

Hi everyone. Playing in the sketch challenge over at The Paper Players today, the sketch is down below.

Do you ever have one of those days where everything is stacked against you when you think you have this fabulous idea for a card?  That was me on this one.  I was bound and determined to use this older mitten stamp and die set from Hero Arts. I was having a difficult time choosing the cardstock colors to match the designer paper from Gina K Designs. Should I go with a light or a dark-colored cardstock? I think I waffled on this three times before landing on the dark color.   I heat-embossed the stamp design using white detail embossing powder onto peacock cardstock from C&9th.

I used an old snowflake embossing folder from Provo Craft for the background.

Mixed media Christmas tag

Hello. I'm playing in The Paper Players tag you're it challenge today.

I created a mixed media tag using distress inks, and a few stamps from Park Lane and Lawn Fawn. The dies are a mix of Tim Holtz Sizzix and Simon Says Stamp. I finished it off with a splatter of rustic wilderness re-inker and tied on a few bows made from twine.

The background is a sheet of music that was heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

Christmas cheer

Hello. Playing in a few challenges today. I started off with the sketch over at Sunday Stamps and paired it with the color challenge over at The Paper Players.

The red-striped dp is from my stash of Christmas papers so I have no idea where it came from originally. The poinsettia is cut from paper from Violet's studio designs. I liked that it looks as though it is splattered with white paint. I added some additional greenery behind it for some interest.  The white panel is embossed with an embossing folder and the sentiment is popped up with foam tape.
