Butterfly thanks

Hey everyone! Here is my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch. Also adding this to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - anything goes!

Butterfly die is from Memory Box. The leaf vine is a new die and I can't remember for the life of me who makes it.

Thanks sentiment is from Wplus9 and stamped using jet black archival ink.

White panel and the butterfly is popped up using foam tape.

Sending this out virtually to all of those who sent condolences on the loss of my father! Thanks!

Purple thanks

Hello everyone! Had some time on my hands today and decided to play along with the Sunday Stamps sketch.

Stamps are from Simon Says Stamps but from two different sets.

Stamped the flowers using Fresh Ink in lavender, mojito green and black.  I sort of got better lining the outline stamp as I went along! snort. But I kind of like the difference it makes in the overall theme.

Designer paper is from Kaisercraft which I cut out using the fishtail banners from My Favorite Things. The lavender ribbon is from Ellen Hutson. She usually sends out a little snippet of ribbon as a "thank you" when you order from her. I tied the bow using the bow easy.

Here is the sketch below. Thanks for stopping by!

Congratulations tag

Hi all! Here is my take on this weeks Less is More challenge. It's recipe week and we're to add a tag to our card. Here's mine.

Sentiment and Flower stamp is from Avery Elle. I stamped it in the color Sugar from Fresh Ink and then highlighted the petals with a RV10 Copic marker.

Round tag die is from Papertrey, Ink. I love that it adds a deep round embossing around the inside when cutting this out. White satin ribbon colored with copic's and then tied on.

The cool corner dies are new from Memory Box. I cut them out of a 4 and 5.25 white cardstock then popped it up onto a white card base with foam tape.

Added the three pink sequins and called it done.
Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks CASe this sketch

Hello all! I was really intrigued with this weeks sketch over at CAS(e) this sketch and tried to do it justice.  Here is what I came up with after many failed attempts.

I started with the "off the grid" back ground stamp from Stampin Up! I used weathered wood distress ink to stamp it and then went over it with a blending tool. Added some scattered straw using a blending tool so that it had a bit more dimension and a pop of color.

The "thanks" sentiment comes from Simon Says Stamp thanks set and is stamped in MFT colorbox black ink. I did end up using some clear embossing powder over it and heat set it.

Flowers are from the Oriental Trading Company that I've had in my stash forever. Added some green leaves using a Martha Stewart punch and the yellow button from American Crafts and called this done.

Like I said, this sketch gave me fits - I just wasn't happy with a lot of the first and second drafts I started with. Ended up changing the background stamp a few times. Well, it was sort of fun playing around but I sure wasted a lot of paper - sigh!

to a wonderful friend

Here is my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch and I also used the color combo over at Color Throwdown too! It appears that I was also inspired by the daisy in the picture!

Daisy stamp is from the Flourishes gerber daisy set. Which appears to be only available in a cut file now. I stamped it in MFT hybrid black ink and colored in Copic's.  I decided to add a sentiment to on top of the daisy panel because it looked a little bare. It's from the poppy stamp set from My Favorite Things.

Cardstock is from Bazzill and layered in black. I added the tiny black satin ribbon to coordinate with the sketch.

That is it for today - thanks for stopping by.

Ombre thanks

Hello everyone! Here is my take on the CAS.ology cue card of Ombre.

I due cut the word Thanks from WPlus9 and left it in the cardstock. I used some post it note tape to mask it off so that I could ink it up in several shades of blue ink from Colorbox.  The stamped sentiment is also from WPlus9.

The tag die is from Mama Elephant and is layered with a dark navy cardstock from Bazzill smoothies. Used the largest die from Lil' Inkers to apply the stitching around the card base.

Lastly, I took a piece of white satin ribbon and used B93, B95 and B97 Copic markers to create an ombre effect on it. Tied it on with some white scrappers floss.

The challenge over at Simon Says Stamp is clean and simple and this is definitely that.

Thanks for stopping in to take a look see.

Pinecones

Hello everyone! Here is my take on the Just Us Girls color challenge. You are to use white or beige, brown and a third color. I chose green to go with the stamp image.

Pinecone stamp is from Technique Tuesday's Green House Society. Copic markers used to color it.

Sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink. The green cardstock is from Bazzill that I've had in my stash forever. It has a bit of a waffle weave texture to it and thought it looked good behind the main image. The brown cardstock that I layered the main image with is also from Bazzill. Added some twine on the left side and a green button from American Crafts.

That's it for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks a bunch

Hi all! Here is a quick card I put together for the following two challenges. The Paper Players CAS watercolor and Sweet Sunday Sketch. See pictures below.

I used a Memento red marker on the flowers and then spritzed it with water to get a watercolor effect. I also did the background in Copic reinkers and spritzed it with rubbing Alcohol. I really like how it came out.

Stamps are from Clearly Besotted. I used the stitched square die to cut it out (SSS) and the rectangle sentiment panel is a fishtail banner with the points cut off from MFT. This is also popped up using foam tape.

Tiny yellow self adhesive pearls used for the centers of the flowers.

That's it for today! Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday wishes

Hello! Here is my take on this weeks Less is More theme of Up, Up and away! As usual, kept it very clean and simple.

Birthday sentiment is from the mat stack 7 set from Papertrey, Ink. The balloon die is from PTI as well.

I up-cycled a Kleenex box to use for the balloons. I liked the graduated colors and cut the box apart so that I could use it for this. I did pop up the two outside balloons in different thicknesses of foam tape to give this a bit of dimension.

Bakers twine used to tie the balloons together.

I think this one is going into my masculine stash pile.

Thanks for stopping by!

Faux Cloisonné butterflies

Hi everyone! Here is my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch. I just got this magazine from Boden in the mail. I've never ordered from them but like to see what kind of textures they have within their pages. This dress really caught my eye and it made me realize that I haven't done anything with the faux cloisonne technique in ages. Here's what came of it.

Butterfly stamp is from Magenta. I stamped it over the catty using Versamark and then decided to go with silver embossing powder instead of the normal gold. I like how it turned out.

I stamped the butterfly again on the blueberry cardstock so that the antenna was present and heat embossed them too.  Sentiment is from My Favorite Things, which I thought worked well with the butterfly theme.

Below is the catty page and how I stamped and embossed the butterflies before fussy cutting them out.

I did use some mini foam tape pieces to pop up the butterflies and the sentiment panel. Overall, really liked how this turned out. Thoughts? Thanks for stopping by!
