No stamps birthday greeting

Hi again. I have been busy today and get to share another card, this time for the challenge over at Simon Says Stamp. Challenge is to use "no stamps," so, while I had the distress oxide inks out, I created the back ground for this one.

Die is from My Favorite Things. I let the pretty colors do the talking on this 5 x 5 square card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Creative people

Hello. Playing in the Less is More one layer card challenge and focusing in on the sentiment.

Distress oxide inks used to blend out a place to put this wonderful sentiment. Stamp is from Visible Image out of the UK.

Have a wonderful day!

Designers Choice - pink or red

It’s time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week it's Heather's choice and she wants us to use Pink or Red. Here is what I did with it.

I cut the heart out of white canvas and then colored it with a R83 Copic refill. I just squirted some onto a craft mat and let it soak in and then dry. Spellbinders embossing folder used on the heart cut out (pink and main) and on the white panel behind. I lined them up, and then used a bit of foam tape behind the heart to give it dimension. Stamped the sentiment and layered it with pink cardstock. Added some tiny pink pearls to the end and the heart for interest.

Project of the week - upcycling for a masculine card

Hello, it's my turn to pick the project of the week and this go around I've decided to do a bit of upcycling.  So, here is the definition I found on the subject.

Upcycling:

Upcycling, also known as creative reuse, is the process of transforming by-products, waste materials, useless and/or unwanted products into new materials or products of better quality or for better environmental value.

I saved this paper bag and cut it down to use as a back drop on the card below.

To obtain additional texture on this, I crumbled up the paper bag, unrolled it and then used vintage photo distress ink direct to paper to bring out some of the creases. I then adhered it onto a piece of white cardstock using Distress Collage Medium in vintage. The sheet music stamp was used for the next layer. I tore the cardstock and distressed it a bit too, then painted on some more collage medium. The canvas heart was left over from last weeks card, so I stuck that on here with another die cut for added interest. The vertical "happy birthday" sentiment is stamped onto the back of the paper bag (plain side) and layered with dark brown cardstock.

The collage medium in vintage brown was really fun to work with. Great glue to get all the bits and pieces onto the card.

Humming bird stained glass

Hello. Playing in the Addicted to CAS challenge of birds today.

The humming bird die is from Cheery Lynn Designs. I colored the inside pieces with Copic markers and then built up the outside with about 5 layers. I used Tonic Nuvo crystal clear glaze to create the stain glass effect and as a final layer embossed one with silver embossing powder. This is the method that Jennifer M did over on her blog.

Flowers and leaf stamps are from Simon Says Stamp and are colored with Copic's.
