Fall card

Hi everyone! Long time no post! My day job has been very hectic lately!  I used the weekly sketch from My Favorite Things for this card.

I colored the stamp using distress markers and then spritzed with water to get this blended water color look. When choosing the papers for the back ground I first wanted to go with yellows and orange, but nothing seem to grab me. Ended up going with greens (always a staple with me) and things worked a lot better. So, this actually is an "early" fall card. Hehe!

Supplies:
Leaf branch stamp is from Memory Box and the sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink.
Distress markers
Designer paper - DCWV
Green cardstock - Bazzill
Beige cardstock - HOTP
Gold buttons - American Crafts
Sentiment is cut out with a die from Verve

Just thinking of you - PTI blog hop

Hi everyone! I got a chance to play in this month's PTI blog hop. The challenge:

This month's inspiration is all about autumn patterns, textures & textiles.  Think warm & cozy woolens, houndstooth, tweed, burlap, felt, corduroy. herringbone and even argyle.

The houndstooth embossing folder was used on the kraft cardstock and then I used a stipple brush to add some definition using fresh snow ink.

The green cardstock was embossed using the plaid embossing folder. I decided to keep things pretty clean and simple for this card. I really had a lot of great ideas in my head that never quite made it down onto my card. In other words, I stopped and started way too many times with this challenge! LOL!

Mat stack 2 collection used to stamp the sentiment and the decoration. Green brads anchor things down. Bow tied with the Bow Easy.

 Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
Ivory, black and kraft cardstock from Papertrey Ink
Mat stack 2 die and layers die from PTI
Green cardstock from Hot Off The Press
Black self adhesive pearls from Kaisercraft
Black satin ribbon
Green brads

Vacation photos

Hi everyone! Here are a few vacation pictures! Weather was awesome and I'm sad to be back home and at work!

These are all taken in the North Cascade Mountain Range. The Mountain is Mt. Baker and the lake is Baker lake.

The dogs cool off swimming from the 90 degree heat wave we were having!

 Elk grazing in the meadow.

The above picture is of Diablo lake. I decided to stick out my tongue at my DH because he just had to stop to take pictures in the heat. It was a lot cooler when the Jeep was in motion!

Thanks for stopping by!

Wishing you

Hello everyone! Decided to try and create a masculine card today. This is what I came up with. I got a lot of use out of my cuttlebug and dies on this card!

Leaf branches are stamped in Palette Jardin Moss onto ivory cardstock. It appears that I'm fond of the color green as I have a boat load of Bazzill cardstock in many shades! Used a few of them here!

Designer paper has been sitting in my scraps file for a while and I have no idea who made it. Grosgrain ribbon in spring green from Ribbons and Bows Oh My used to hide the seam. This color of ribbon is my go to ribbon when ever I need green.

The self adhesive pearls were added at the last minute to add some interest.

Thanks for dropping by - I think this card can be used for a guy or a girl easily! Don't you?

Supplies:
Stamps - Gina K Designs - Hello Sunshine
Sentiment stamp - Purple Onion - Wine shop
Self Adhesive Pearls - Queen & Co.
Cardstock - Ivory from PTI, Greens are from Bazzill
Ribbon - RABOM
Spellbinders labels and long rectangle
PTI edger die

Great Birthday

Hello everyone! I'm off in the woods camping right now! I hope to have lots of good pictures to share with everyone when I return.

The cranberry back ground is created using vellum, versamark, clear embossing powder and cranberry alcohol ink.

I stamped the solid flower randomly all over the vellum using versamark and clear embossing powder was applied. The cranberry alcohol ink was applied with the adapter and softened a bit with the blending solution. Next I took my iron (no steam) and removed the clear embossing powder.

The same solid flower is stamped in spun sugar distress ink, then I stamped the sentiment over the top. The lattice embossing folder was used on the white cardstock and I added some cranberry satin ribbon to hide the seam. Bow tied with the bow easy.

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
Flower stamp - PTI - pretty peonies
Sentiment stamp - Purple Onion  - wine shop
Vellum and white cardstock - PTI

Happy Anniversary

Hi everybody! I hope this finds you doing well! I've been trying to get a head with making a few cards since I will be gone for a week without a computer. Thank goodness for the schedule post setting on blogger.

This card was inspired by another layout that I thought was a little bit different and fun!

I stamped the flower onto vellum using Memories Chalk ink and then used clear embossing powder and heat embossed it. I really like how the chalk ink gave the flowers some definition. Backing it onto a white layer makes it stand out.

Designer paper is from my scrap pile and I believe it came from K&Company. I used the scalloped border die from Memory Box to cut the scallops. Added some paper piercing around the circle that goes with the cut out's in the scalloped border.

Thanks for dropping by!

Stamps, vellum and white cardstock - Papertrey Ink

Mojo 253 - Hi there!

Happy Tuesday! Here's my take on Mojo Monday #253.

I struggled finding the right designer paper to work with this one! Nothing was working right!

Wine glass stamp is from Purple Onion and colored with Copic markers. The sentiment is from the Wordy Bird stamp set from Verve.

I ended up going with paper from Hot Off The Press and changing the bow to the top. Black rhinestones are from Kaisercraft.

Rustic white cardstock from PTI was used in front of the black card base. Spellbinders circle nesties used to cut out the wine glass and add the layers all around.

Thanks for stopping by! I'd enjoy hearing/reading what you think of this one!

Birthday Blessings

Hi everyone! Stocking up on my Birthday cards for my stash. Here is a clean and simple one for you today!

The sentiment and the flower stamped in yellow in the back ground are from Papertrey, Ink.

The black and white gingham paper is from Impress and I used the medium scalloped border die from Quickutz to cut the border. Circle nesties used for the sentiment.

Yellow grosgrain ribbon is tied using the Bow Easy.

Thanks for stopping in and have a great weekend!
