Mojo #243 - Americana

Hello! Happy Memorial day!

I had some time on my hands today to play around with this weeks Mojo sketch #243. I decided to go with the square layout.

Sentiment is from The Angel Company and stamped using starry night ink from Palette.  The little white stars are cut out using Verve dies and then I sponged the same ink around three of them so that they would stand out. Two of them are popped up using foam tape as is the sentiment panel.

The wonderful designer paper is called Glory by Authentique which I got at a LSS.

Thanks for stopping in - love to hear what you think of this one!

Black, white and lime green

Hello everyone! I just loved the inspiration photo of this month's blog hop from PTI and decided to join in! I actually got to make two cards!

I unearthed the Green Thumb set because I really wanted to use that rubber boot with this yummy lime green cardstock. It's from the Bazzill smoothie line.  The dots embossing folder is from Provo Craft and I used the bigger one to match the polka dots in the boot. Green ink is from Colorbox and Ranger archival ink in Jet black. Black rhinestones added to the bottom left corner and gingham ribbon added across the top completes the look.

I just got my newest stamps in the mail today and as you all know, you immediately pull them out and start to play and create. I cut the flipflops out using the die from PTI using that lime green cardstock. I stamped the polka dots in Versamark and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. They are popped up on the card using foam tape as is the white thong part. Border die is from Memory Box and the black gingham paper is from Impress Rubber Stamps, which is a LSS for me. =)

So, which one grabs you the most? I like them both, but for very different reasons!

Have a great Memorial Day weekend!

Good Luck!

Hello! This little card is going out to a co-worker that is leaving our company after 13 years. She will be greatly missed for her talents, knowledge, wonderful sense of humor and contagious laugh!

I cased this off of a card that was posted on Pinterest but changed up a few things. I really love how CAS and sweet it is, plus really girly.

Gingham paper is from A*Muse and the red cardstock is out of my stash of scraps. Sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink. I used some black rhinestones for the center of the flower punches.

In all the stamps that I have I couldn't find a goodbye, good luck, farewell, you'll be missed stamp that really fit what I wanted to say and do for my co-worker! If anyone knows of a company that has a set like this, please leave me a comment!

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping in!

Published! WooHoo!!!

Hi everyone! I just got the following magazine in the mail on Saturday!

Which means that one of my cards was published. The only thing is....I can't remember the last time I sent a card in for consideration! It's been a long time! I had to look through the magazine a few times in order to pick out my card and finally found it on page 74. Thank goodness it lists out the artist name and details, otherwise it might have taken me a few more times going through to find it. LOL!

Here is the card.

I first posted this card on my blog as a part of my sketch challenges. It was #83 and posted on August 3rd, 2008. Can you believe it? I included the link so that you can get the details on the card.

This just goes to show you that your card submissions can be used at any time. Just because they didn't make it the first go around, or the second or third doesn't mean that they won't get used in the future. =)

Thanks for stopping in and have a great week!

One in a melon!

Hi everyone!

I made this quick CAS card for a co-worker (of sorts) who has really taken a beating this last week. She heard from all ends of the spectrum and kept her head about her!

The lime green cardstock is out of a 5 x 7 pack from DCWV and it's a color that is so in now! As a matter of fact, I just found some nail polish in this shade and had my toes painted with it! LOL!!!  OK, back to the details...

Stamps are from Wild Flower stamps which I've had for a few years, and they seem to be out of business now. Nothing is coming up when I searched for it using google. I used Studio G chalk inks to stamp the watermelon and Archival jet black for the sentiment and seeds.

Black satin ribbon tied on before adhering the cardstock to the card base. I haven't used that corner punch in such a long time that I actually forget what it's called. But I like the look.

What do you think? Have a wonderful day and thanks for dropping in!

Week #2 Guest Designer - For Fun Challenges

Hello everyone! Here are my last two cards as guest designer for For Fun Challenges. This weeks challenges is to use flowers, lots of flowers.  The sponsor this week is Bugaboo and I've used two of her digital designs.

This cool flower gal is Ivy. I colored her with Copic markers then cut it out using a long rectangle die from spellbinders. Green cardstock is from Bazzill and the designer paper is from Basic Grey. I did sponge some peeled paint distress ink along the left hand side of the dp. The white satin ribbon is colored with the same Copic markers and then tied into a bow using the Bow Easy.

I then took some three ivy leaves off the back one of my silk plants and glued it on behind the sentiment and main image. Lastly, I added a green felt flower and yellow paper flower from TAC to cover up the stems of the ivy and be OK with the flower challenge.

This next one is also colored with Copic's! The darker yellow is actually tissue mulberry paper that has been stained with wild honey distress ink. I let it dry and then added some swirly flowers using versamark ink and clear embossing powder. It's really hard to see in the picture! Blue and yellow cardstock layers are from HOTP and self adhesive pearls are from Kaisercraft.

Please join us over at For Fun Challenges this week using lots of flowers on your card or project! Thank you's going out to Helen and Kathy for having me as guest designer these past two weeks! It's been a lot of FUN!

Sympathy/Thinking of you challenge

Hi everyone!
We have a Sympathy or thinking of you challenge going on over at Victorine Originals. I made a sympathy card for my stash, as you never know when you'll need one.

Flower is water colored using Marvy Le Plume markers. The picture is kind of dark, but I also added some sparkle to the centers of the flowers with a yellow stardust pen.  All stamps are from V.O.

The designer paper is from Hot Off The Press and black self adhesive pearls are from Kaisercraft.

I hope you participate in the challenge for a change to win some new rubbah! Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by!

Happy Mother's Day

Hello everyone! Happy Mother's Day! Here is the card that I made for my so-called step Mom. She's not legally that, but we don't care.

This is a stamp that I've had in my collection for years and it's one of my all time favorites. It comes from a company called Great Impressions.

Colored with Copic's and cut out with a spellbinders label die. I was lucky to find a piece of cardstock that matched the color of copic's I used! Corner rounds used all around and self adhesive pearls added for some bling.

Sentiment stamp from PTI (I think, Oops I can't remember) I cut it out using a mega oval die and sponged around it with summer sky ink from Memento.

I hope you have a wonder Mother's Day!

I'm a guest designer!

I was honored to be asked to be a Guest Designer at For Fun Challenges for two weeks. The first challenge is for "your best girl" which could be your Mom, sister, daughter or BFF. I chose to make a card for my BFF for all that she has done so far for me this year!

Stamps for this card are from the April release from Verve. The flowers are colored with Copic Markers and then cut out using the new dies that coordinate with the stamp set. I used some foam tape to pop them up, one on top of the other. I punched out a few leaf stems from the Martha Stewart Crafts leaf punch. The satin ribbon is colored using the same Copic markers as the flowers and the bow easy used to tie the bow.

As you can see, I did stamp a flower on the inside of the card and color it! Thank goodness I used some heavy cardstock for the base of this card and it didn't bleed through!

I encourage you to play along in this challenge this week as it fits right in with Mother's Day and the need to make a card or two.

Thanks for stopping in! I'd love to know what you think and don't forget to stop by the For Fun Challenge blog!

Polka Dot Balloons

Hi all! It's just a beautiful day in the neighborhood and here I am in the studio! Go figure! I've got some challenge projects to finish up and I think the sun outside is effecting my mojo!

Balloon stamp is from Papertrey Ink and colored with Copic Markers. The white polka dots are done using white enamel accents from Inkssentials. The black ones are done using a black gel pen from Sakura. I love the dimension that these two give the balloons.

Designer paper is from My Minds Eye and HOTP. The sentiment is from PTI and stamped in Archival jet black ink. Black pearls are from Kaisercraft.

 Thanks for dropping by!

Blue Birthday Card

Hello out there! Wanted to share another quick and simple and cheap card using dollar bin finds at Michaels.

The designer paper is from Treasures by Shabby Chic and I'm assuming that the stamp and paper roses are as well. The dollar items were the dp, stamp and the paper roses.

I colored directly on the stamp with Copic markers, spritzed with alcohol ink and stamped it onto white cardstock. Birthday wishes sentiment is from PTI. I also used the same blue Copic marker with my air brush and colored the white roses blue. Punched out a few leaves from the MS craft punch and glued them behind the roses.

The Swiss dot embossing folder is used on the white cardstock and the card base is enchanted evening from PTI. Labels 4 used to cut out the main rose image and the blue layer behind.

I distressed the designer paper with a sponge dauber and Navy ink from A*Muse Studio.

A little different, but still a clean and simple card. What do you think?
