CAS - For you!

Hello! Here's a clean and simple card that can be completed in no time!

The flower collage stamp is from The Angel Company and is colored with chalks. Yes, I dug them out of the drawer, dusted them off and used them on this image! (giggle)

I decided to distress the edges a bit and used two tools. My edge distresser from Making Memories and a pair of scissors. I think the razor blade in my distressing tool is about done for.

Used the colors of the main image that I did as inspiration for the card stock choices. The sentiment is stamped right on the green cs - which is unusual for me! I tend to layer pretty much all my sentiments.

All supplies except the chalk are from The Angel Company on this card! Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Gladiolus

Hey everyone! Here is my creation for the sketch challenge over on SCS today.

This is the August stamp of the month in the Year of flowers from Papertrey, ink. Sentiment is also from PTI (Delightful Dahlia).

Green cardstock is from Bazzill and the pink designer paper is from Paper Pizazz. Circle and rectangle Nestabilities used to cut out the sentiment and the Gladiolus.

Copic markers used:
R81
R82
R85
G21
G24
and the colorless blender. I also used a yellow stardust pen to highlight the centers of the flowers.

Add a bit of paper piercing to the top left corner for a bit of visual interest. So, what do you think? I like how clean and simple it is!

Thanks for stopping by!

TDS Wednesday

Hello all! Here's my latest creation for The Digi Shack, with a new image from Brian Lock.

Bear is colored with Copic markers. The designer paper is from Paper Pizazz and that great sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink. The die is also from PTI!

Gold self adhesive pearls added to make it a bit more interesting!

The image paired with that great sentiment make this a fun masculine card, don't ya think?

Paper Wings Fall blog hop

Hello everyone! Paper Wings is sponsoring a Fall blog hop to showcase some of The Angel Company's new Fall inspired stamps! Of course Halloween themed stamps are huge right now, too!

Here are my fall themed cards.

This one is a 4 x 4 square note card. Stamps are from the Pick of the patch set. The duck is colored with Copic markers. Black and marigold cardstock (caboodles) is from TAC. I used the nestabilities circle and tag dies to cut everything out.

This is one of the new Halloween sets available from TAC right now called Batty Good. Bats are colored with a C3 copic marker. The bat's ears (OMG, I mean wings) are done using a black prismacolor pencil and I used a YG11 on its eyes. Satin ribbon colored with copic markers and then tied into a double bow using the bow easy. Circle cut out using spellbinders circle nestability.

The pumpkin from Give Thanks is used on this card. Colored with Copic markers. All cardstock is from the caboodles sets from The Angel Company. Square, Oval and labels 8 nestabilities dies are used to make this card. The satin ribbon is colored with Copic markers and tied into a very small double bow. The scalloped border is done using a EK success border punch.

Fall Colors

Hi everyone! Here's my card from this weeks sketch challenge over at Splitcoast stampers.

Stamp is from Papertrey Ink - Life. I colored the stamp with a marker and did the huff method for the main panel and the inside of the card. Marvy LePlume II markers used were Pumpkin and Olive.

The designer paper is from K&Company, Tim Coffey's line from last year called Fall mat pad. I did do a little distressing around the edges with some Pumpkin spice versamagic ink to blend all the fall colors together.

Black cardstock is from PTI as well. Instead of a paper layer, I decided to use ribbon and added some self adhesive gold pearls (by Micheal's Reflections line) to the four corners.

Thanks for dropping by and please let me know what you think of this one!

TDS Wednesday

Happy hump day! Here's a card done with an image that is available over at The Digi Shack that is drawn by our own Senior DT member Marlene. Check out her blog on the right side bar! She's hilarious!

The happy party dude is colored with Copic's. I just love his plaid pants and had to use the plaid embossing folder to go along with it. Oval nestabilities were used to cut out the image and the sentiment.

The Cheers! sentiment is from Penguin pants rubber stamps. What a fun image for a masculine card or for a New Years card!

Thanks for stopping by!

Blob!

Here's the real reason I don't use stickles all that often! BLOB! Big mess - specifically because I was too impatient to let it dry before trying to take a picture of this card!

You see, it fell face first onto the surface that I propped it up on to take the picture and splat went the stickles! Well, what to do but try and fix it even though it's now outside of the stamped image lines! It'll have to do!

I hand drew the stem and colored the leaves with Copic markers. Thinking of you sentiment is from English Everyday Cuties. Daisy and leaf are from Blossoms and Blessings (TAC) and the cardstock is from The Angel Company as well. I tied some organdy ribbon around the marigold cs and then used the bow easy to tie the bow. It's adhered using a glue dot. Lattice punch used on the top.

Anyone else had similar episodes with stickles that they'd like to share? Thanks for stopping by and let me know what you think....

One of a kind

Hey there! Here's a sweet one from The Angel Company called One of kind that is available as a hostess set only.
She's colored with Copic Markers and I used a colorless blender to add some polka dots to her dress. Then I had to get out the newest polka dot embossing folder from Provo Craft to add some texture to the Caboodles blue cardstock. All cardstock is from TAC.

The sentiment was stamped in Memento ink and then ran through the long rectangle nestabilities. I embossed it and then I used a dauber and sponged some distress faded jeans ink all around the edges. I used the same Copic marker that I used in her dress to color a length of grosgrain ribbon and tucked it up under the sentiment panel.

Added a small yellow pearl to the center of the flower for a bit of bling. What do you think? Isn't she cute?

TDS - Hoping your day is....

Hello everyone! Here's another fun image from The Digi Shack illustrated by Brian Lock.

Image is colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS. I chose to use the sentiment (TAC) that centers around friendship! The birds in this image are blessed that they are getting a free ride from the cow! (grin)

How about all those shapes? Circle, rectangle, triangle and an oval all on one card! What was I thinking?

I hope your day is filled with blessings! Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to let me know what you think of my card!

Happy Fall

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend! It rained here but it was needed, so I ended up doing house work and creating in the studio.

Here's a card I posted for the CAS challenge over at SCS last Monday. The challenge was to use polka dots.

The stamp is from Plum Purdy and is colored with Copic Markers. The sentiment is from Stampendous. I added a bit of scrappers floss (colored with Copic's) to the knot in the satin ribbon.

Spellbinders nestabilities in square and the tag were used to cut out the main stamped image and the sentiment. A black brad helps keep the tags together.

All cardstock and the polka dot paper are from Papertrey Ink.

I also did a bit of stamping and coloring on the inside of this card.
What do you think?

You can find Plum Purdy by Renee Mullins here! I wish she would take some of her new designs and make them into stamps too!

Anyway, thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

CAS butterfly hello

Hello!

Here's a quick CAS card that has very minimal layers. This set was the stamp of the month from last month, but never got around to playing with it until now.

Butterfly is embossed with clear embossing powder then colored with Copics. Card base is the yellow gold cardstock, then the layer of green and the white is where all the stamping happened.

Sentiment is from English Everyday Cuties and the leaves were stamped in Palette Jardin Moss.

I actually got out my yellow bottle of stickles and used them on the tips of the butterflies wings. I have about 7 bottles of different colors of stickles, but for some reason don't use them. I guess I 'm just too impatient to let them dry!

What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Another new image peak

Hi everyone!

Here's another new image from Brian Lock that will be available tomorrow afternoon at The Digi Shack!

Moose is colored with Copic Markers and the mousse is liquid applique. The designer paper in the background is from the DCWV linen closet stack.

Nestability labels used to cut out the image and layer it with brown. Bad hair day is done with Karen Foster snap stamps. Grosgrain ribbon is tied to the side and the bow easy used to tie the bow.

Isn't he cute? Pretty quick and simple card - what do you think?

Don't forget to join us at SNR tomorrow for our newest Digi releases from TDS!

Art Deco sketch

Hey everyone!

I participated in the sketch challenge over at Splitcoast stampers today (well, late last night) and this is what I came up with!

All stamps are from The Angel Company - Fly Fairy and Vintage Backgrounds.

The fairy lady is stamped in Memento ink twice and colored with Copic markers. I cut her out and glued her to the white panel and then added another layer of wings, which are popped up using foam tape.

Background is stamped in Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder. I randomly stamped all the collage elements from both stamp sets, which actually came out pretty good!

The cardstock is from Hot Off The Press - paper pizazz. It's their 8 x 8 cardstock for Princess collection that has so many wonderful jewel colored papers in it.

So, what do you think? This is really not my style of stamping, but decided to try something different. I think I like how this turned out.

Have a wonderful day!

TDS sneak peak

Hi everyone! Here's another sneak peak of an upcoming new release from Brian Lock over at The Digi Shack. This will be released this Saturday during Digi Day over at SNR card universe.

When I first saw this image, the only thing I could think of was the Beatles song "Yellow Submarine" and that's what I ended up doing. Sentiment is computer generated. Is that song stuck in your head now?

Submarine is colored with Copic's and I used a dew drop for the port hole window and the bubbles are highlighted with a stardust pen.

All cardstock is from Papertrey Ink. The sentiment tag is cut using a spellbinders die, then I added some self adhesive black pearls from Kaisercraft.

Ok, tell me - What is your favorite Beatles song? Mine has to be either Penny Lane, Elenor Rigby or Lucy in the sky with diamonds (however, I prefer the Elton John version). I really like the different musical instruments used throughout all those songs. Or was it a synthesizer?

By the way, The Digi Shack is having a sale through Wednesday - 20% off!

Have a great day!
