Poinsettia

Hello. Getting this one in under the wire for the sketch challenge over at TGIF.

Poinsettia background stamp is from The Ton. I stamped it in Versmark, heat embossed it with Ranger White detail embossing powder and then water colored it. Added some dew drops for interest. Burgundy ribbon from my stash and added some scrappers floss behind it to jazz it up.

That's it for today. Thanks for stopping in.

Inspiration photo challenge - poinsettias

It’s time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week we were challenged to use the following picture as inspiration.

I really liked the texture on the poinsettias and tried to create that with my die cuts.  I added a lot of pearls to this for more interest as well.

So, what are you waiting for?!

A yawn is....

Hello. I really liked the sketch that Kerry U did over at the Coffee Lovers Blog and thought I'd play along.

Coffee cup stamp is from Avery Elle. I used the same designer paper to paper piece the coffee sleeve. Funny story about the sentiment - it was on a reader board at a coffee stand and I had a good little giggle over it. So I decided to use it and generated the saying via my computer for this card challenge.

Plaid background stamp is from Echo Park. Added some snowflakes and stars to bling it up a bit.

Thanks for stopping by.

Mittens

Hello. I got a chance today to play around with this weeks Freshly Made Sketch. Whew! It's been a while since I've gotten inky with moving and all.

Mitten die, stiches frame and the snowflake stamp are from My Favorite Things. Designer paper is from Carta Bella. Lastly, the sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink.

I used a white gelly roll pen to create the faux stitching around the mittens.  There is a really weird shadow happening just under the red tie and on top of the mitten. It looks like a button, though.

Project of the week - trees

Hello. It's my turn over at The House That Stamps Built to come up with a project of the week. I'm show casing one of my favorite stamps this week.

I did a little ghost stamping to create a tree line or forest for this clean and simple Holiday card. The reason I like this tree stamp can be used for so many different occasions.

Stamps used to create this card will be on sale for the week over at Repeat Impressions. So grab them while you can.

Thanks!

Adulting is hard

Hello. Another card for the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. Loving this sentiment, which is from Technique Tuesday.

I believe the coffee cup die I used here is from Paper Smooches. My craft room is still such a disaster area I can't find anything. Nothing like starting over from a move to help you clean up your stash!

Have a great day!

Designer Choice - anything but a card

It’s time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week is Donna's choice and we were challenged to do anything BUT a card. Here is what I did.

Sentiment is from RI and stamped in versamark and embossed with platinum embossing powder. Foliage Dies are from Echo park.  Tag die is from MFT.

Take the time

To stop and smell the Coffee! Made this for the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

Stamps are from The Darkroom Door. Coffee cup is stamped in versafine, heat embossed and then colored with Copic's. The background on this is done with the shaving cream technique. I have this stashed away in my background stash of unused card bits forever and finally got to use it.

Doily die is from Papertrey, Ink.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a caffeinated day!

Hello

Hello.

It’s time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week we were challenged to follow the photo below as inspiration.

I got out my new Faber Castel polychromos to color this little guy up. Also dusted off my deckled rectangle dies from Spellbinder to cut him out. Used some vintage photo distress ink with a sponge dauber to darken the edges. Did the same on the designer paper in the background. Added some twine to this for some decoration in the back. Card base is a dark chocolate brown.

A Moosage from me

Hello!

It’s time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week we were challenged to use the following Tic-Tac-Toe board to create with.

I  chose to use the top row across. Moose is colored with Copic's. The burlap paper is from DCWV and cut using the tag die from a Hero Arts monthly club die. Kept this neutral and used colors found in nature to stay within the guidelines of the TTT grid. Added the twine onto the ribbon in a cute little bow.

Hello. It's time for a designers choice challenge over at The Houses That Stamps Built and it's Cheri's turn this time. She wants to see some bears!

I've had this cute designer paper hoarded and decided to put it to good use on this challenge. It goes so well with the little bear. He's colored with Copic's and cut out using my Brother Scan N Cut.

Thinking of you

Hello-
It’s time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week we were challenged to follow the sketch below.

I designed this sketch and I have to tell you, I struggled with it. Too funny, Huh? I couldn't get anything to work with the mum's for some reason. Tried a lot of different stencils, designer papers, and finally just went with the debossed dots. Which now look like a golf ball to me, LOL.

So, what are you waiting for?!

Why not play along with us and start stamping up a card now. We can’t wait to see your creations!

Snowflake shaker card

Hello,
Playing in the Just Us Girls inspiration photo challenge today.

Snowflake die is from Spellbinders. I cut it out of silver cardstock and inlaid it into a white card base with a red background. Created the shaker element behind and stamped the sentiment in veramark to emboss it with silver embossing powder.

So many possibilities with this one.

Thanks for stopping by.

Pick of the week - Recycling

Hello. It's my turn over at The House That Stamps Built to create a project for our Monday challenge called Pick of the Week. I'm creating a card out of recycled materials today.

I received this gift bag with goodies in it at our company meeting last week. I liked how fancy the gold swirls were on it and kept it to use again.

So I cut it apart and even used the handle to make this card.

I had to add a bit of gold to enhance everything. Snowflakes and sentiment are heat embossed using gold embossing powder.  I added the gold cording onto the raffia bow so that it would stand out just a tad bit more. Gold mirror cardstock used as the base of the card and to layer the sentiment panel.

Stamps used are:
1141-F, Christmas
8805-K, Snowflakes

Have a great day!
