Adventure

Hello, it's my turn over at The House That Stamps Built to do a project of the week. I decided to do something a bit different and went with an adventure theme for my card.

I started by stamping the map, compass and sentiment in archival jet black ink then dipping into vintage photo distress ink that I smooched onto my craft mat. Heat set it and repeated it several times to create layers. Once I like what I had, I cut them out using spellbinders deckled rectangle dies and a circle die.

Using a finger dauber, I built up the outside edges to create the appearance of burnt edges using distress ink in vintage photo, ground espresso and black soot.

Added the finished panels onto a Kraft piece of cardstock that I embossed with an embossing folder that reminded me of grid lines.

I haven't done this technique in ages and thought it turned out pretty cool looking. Ended up being a wonderful masculine card for my stash.

Congratulations

Hi everyone. It's time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week our challenge is Anything goes. Decided to do something not Holiday related on this one.

Distress ink blended on Bristol smooth cardstock. Stamped and heat embossed the dragonfly and writing back ground stamp. Finished off with some gouache splatters.

Christmas inspiration

Hi everyone. It's time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week our challenge is the use the following graphic.

I used the color palette and the poinsettia as inspiration. I darkened the cardstock using  distress inks. Glitter added to it using wink of stella.

Snowflake impression

Hello. Playing in a few challenges today. Simon Says Stamp is looking for snow and I paired it with the Tuesday Morning Sketch.

Snowflake stamp is from Inspired by Stamping called snowflake wonder. I took a piece of cardstock and heat embossed it three times using silver embossing powder. Then I inked up the snowflake with versamark, and while the silver panel was still warm, I impressed the snowflake into it.  It's really cool up close. I used the same stamp in dark blue ink on the tag.

Background snow stamp is from Rubbernecker and it is heat embossed using a pearl embossing powder.

Thanks for stopping by and take care!

Congrats on your promotion

Hello. Playing in the Freshly Made Sketch 465 challenge today.

Tag die is from Papertrey, Ink. as is the sentiment. Flower die is from Simon Says Stamp and I colored them with Copic's.  Mesh die is from Cheery Lynn designs.  Green gingham paper is from A*Muse Studio. I colored white satin ribbon with the same copic marker as the flowers.

Have a great day!

Top hat

Hello. Playing in the The Paper Players theme challenge today.

I just got this stamp set from the Colorado Craft Company because it had this big top hat that Frosty the snowman wears. Loved it on sight.

I colored this using a lot of different mediums. I started off with Copic markers, added polychromo pencils, then black soot distress ink and highlighted with unicorn white pigment ink.

I kept the background of this 5 x 7 card simple, using only a snowflake embossing folder and matted it with black cardstock. I wanted the hat to stand out and be the star of the show.

Pets

Hi everyone. It's time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week our challenge is a designer choice challenge and Joy is asking to see Pets, anything about pets.

I used the pets quartet and stamped it in versafine ink - heat embossed in clear embossing powder to give it a bit of shine. Colored the heart red in the paw and then framed it in red.  This ended up being a 5 x 5 top folding card.

Holiday cards with "that" paper

Hello everyone. I caved and purchased "that" paper at Hobby Lobby and this is what I did with it.

Holiday greeting stamps are from Papertrey, Ink. I think the tag die is too.  Used Neenah solar white to cut out poinsettias and used the tag as a way to anchor the cluster onto the card. I did find some cardstock that matched the colors in the eucalyptus paper, and used those for the leaves and what not. B01 Copic marker in moon white used on the ribbon and matches pretty well too.

Leaf dies are from Simon Says Stamp and Carta Bella.

Merry Christmas

Hello. Playing in two challenges today. I started with the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches and used a lot of the elements in the photo over at The Card Concept.

Gingham stamp is from Kaisercraft. I stamped it in black ink onto pure poppy cardstock and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I used a sentiment die from SSS to cut out the strips. Pine branch stamp is from Great Impressions. Stamped it in jardin moss ink and then used a bit of rustic wilderness glaze to make it stand out. Sentiment and die are from Recollections.

For the Card Concept - I chose to do a clean and layered style that went with the sketch over at FMS.

It's Thanksgiving today in the states - I hope you all have a wonderful day with family and are staying safe!

Christmas Gnomes

Hello and Welcome to another Fusion Card Challenge, where you can use the sketch or the photo or both. Here is what I did with it.

This is a new stamp from me from Polkadoodles. Colored with copic's. I used silver sparkly washi tape down the sides.

Please check out the Design Team’s creations for this challenge, once again, they have knocked it out of the park.

Watercolor park bench

Hi everyone. It's time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week our challenge is Anything goes!

I used Tombow markers to watercolor the park bench in grays. The grass was done using only the grass from the flower border. It was easy to color just the grass and stamp it down then use a paint brush to soft it up. Stenciled on the clouds using the cloud edger from a colorful life designs and tumbled glass distress oxide ink. I hand drew the birds.

Rustic Christmas

Hello. Playing in the CAS(e) this sketch #399 today.

Pine cone/fir stamp is a big background stamp from Simon Says Stamp, that I colored with Copic's. I used a fishtail banner to cut part of it and saved the rest of it for later. I've had the plaid designer paper in my Christmas stash forever, so I thought it would be fun to use it on this and call it "rustic" since I used a lot of rustic products.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts and I used the new rustic wilderness distress oxide ink and glaze on the vellum. I stuck tiny gold pearls in the corners to hide the glue.  Rustic white cardstock from PTI is used for the base. See the rustic theme, here? LOL
