I'm a fan of you

Hi everyone! Here's a fun card that I made with some $1 stamps from Studio G.

I stamped the fan in Versafine ink and heat embossed using clear embossing powder, then colored it with C00, C1 and C3. In the center of the fan is a white pearl I colored with C3 - a fun added touch! Kind of reminds me of those old fans that had the controls in the center.

I used some designer paper from Provo Craft to cut the fishtail banners and then bent them a bit to form a wave blowing in the breeze of the fan, before adhering them behind the fan panel. Gray cardstock is from American Crafts.

I think I'll enter this into the Simon Says Stamp anything goes challenge this week! Thanks for stopping by!

Be creative

Hi everyone! Happy Memorial Day! I had a few minutes to play around with this weeks Mojo Monday sketch and here is what I came up with! It's a real quick CAS one!

Sentiment stamps are from Simon Says Stamp and the bee is from the former Angel Company. I stamped the bee onto vellum and heat embossed it using clear embossing powder, then colored the yellow on the opposite side. It's attached with a mini glue dot.

Hexagon embossing folder from Sizzix used on the sugar cookie cardstock from Bazzill. Black and white gingham ribbon used to hide the seam. Fishtail die is from My Favorite Things. I put a bit of a bend in the fishtail but it's hard to see in the photo.

PTI Blog Hop - Anniversary wishes

Hi everyone! I was inspired by one of the many photo's that were posted for this month's PTI blog hop and got to work. Here's the colors that inspired me.

This is what I did with it.

Stamps are from the Botanical Silhouettes Anniversary stamp set. I stamped the stems in Wild Wasabi from SU and the blooms in Canary ink from Colorbox. I then decided to highlight the flowers using Y38, Y02 and the colorless blender from Copic. I also added some small dots ramdomly around the flowers using a .05 Multiliner pen. Click on the picture for a closer look!

Sentiment is from the PTI set Celebrations. Cardstock used was Spring Moss, lemon tart, black and white all from PTI.

The embossing folder is the lattice folder from Sizzix and lastly tiny black pearls from Kaisercraft used in the corners.

Thanks for dropping by and I'd love to hear your feedback!

Cute as a button

Hi all! Here's another card using this weeks sketch challenge over at Freshly made sketches.

I kept it very CAS. Stamps are from Papertrey, Ink called Button Boutique. I stamped the button in Versamark and then heat embossed using clear embossing powder onto the black cardstock.

The buttons are chipboard covered with designer paper from the Reflections line at Michaels. Tied some black cording through the eyelets and then popped them up using foam tape. Lime green cardstock is from Bazzill smoothie line.

FBW #241 - Butterfly

Hi everyone, since I'm on vacation this week I've had plenty of opportunities to be creative and participate in some sketch challenges.  This is for Flutter by Wednesday's sketch challenge this week.

Butterfly is an old Stampin Up! stamp that I love to pull out periodically. I stamped it in Versafine then heat embossed withe clear embossing powder. I used Copic markers in Y13, Y17, Y35, Y38 and R17 to color it. Decided to do a bit of fussy cutting and then popped it up using foam tape. The green leaves in the back ground are done using Wild Wasabi ink and PTI's turning a new leaf stamp set.

Designer paper is Bazzill Swiss dots and lasting impressions. Kaisercraft yellow pearls added per the sketch.

The deconstructed sketch #101

Hi everyone! This sketch really caught my eye and I decided to give it a go and to use some bold colors for a change!

I used the fishtail dies from My Favorite Things and then layered (hand cut) it with black cardstock. Black rhinestones from Kaisercraft added to the bottom right hand corner to finish it off. Card measures 5 x 5.

Mojo 294 - flowers

Hello everyone! Here's this weeks Mojo Monday sketch results. I struggled a lot with this one. Clearly my mojo needed some waking up!

Stamps are from Verve. I stamped the flower in Versamark and used some light yellow chalk from Pebbles to highlight it. Designer paper is from Provo craft that I've had forever in my stash. I added the darker yellow lattice border at the last minute. I almost left it off, but since the sketch called for some sort of border here I added it back in.

Spring moss grosgrain ribbon is from RABOM and I colored some white pearls yellow using a Copic Marker. Green and yellow cardstock is from Bazzill.

Mojo #293 - Cupcake

Hi everyone! I had a bit of time tonight and decided to play with this weeks Mojo Monday sketch.

Stamps are from Verve. I colored the cupcake with Copic's and added just a bit of bling in the small star with a yellow Sakura glitter pen.  Well, that prompted me to hunt around for a small star to balance out the circles. Half an hour later, what you see is what I ended up with out of a bunch of starts and stops.

It's a grunge board pre-cut shape from one of Tim Holtz packages of shapes. I painted over it with white Gesso and then took a yellow Copic marker to it. Then I really had to bling it up with some diamond skickles.

Brown designer paper is from Hot Off The Press and the pink polka dots is from DCWV. Brown and white cardstock is from PTI.

You're on my mind

Greetings! Wow, what a busy weekend! I'm finally able to sit down and get a few computer things done, but no time yet for stamping! Here's a card I did a few weeks ago.

I just got the new spellbinders Gold labels four dies and put them to use with this card. The original labels 4 die without all the wonderful cutting and embossing is popped up using some foam tape.  I used vintage creme cardstock and the flower stamp is from A*Muse. I stamped it using pink grapefruit and tea leaves ink from VersaMagic. I also stamped the same flower on the inside. I heat embossed the one on the front with clear embossing powder and now wish that I didn't.

Designer paper is from DCWV and I found a piece of ribbon in my stash to go behind all the labels that was a close match.

Thanks for stopping by, off to finish my chores before getting inky!

Mr. and Mrs.

Hi everyone! I'm glad to be back home to warm weather! Got a chance to play in this weeks Freshly Made Sketch. Here's what I did with it!

Stamp is from Stampin Up! and I used pink lemonade ink from Fresh Ink to stamp it in. This is for a friends weddings this month and her colors are gray and pink. She'll get a kick out of this.

Textile embossing folder used on the background and I added a piece of seam binding that I had dyed pink to the top of the card. Gray cardstock is from American Crafts and I used the fishtail dies from MFT. The label die is from Papertrey, Ink.

By the way, the winner for my blog candy was Sarah B from Wisconsin! Congratulations! Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Chinese take out

Hi everyone - I'm scheduled to fly home tomorrow and I can't wait to get back and get inky! So, here's another post that I scheduled ahead of time in my absence.

How about some take out Chinese? These stamps are from Lawn Fawn. I stamped all images in Versafine and heat embossed them using clear embossing powder. Then I got out the C00 and C1 Copics to color the carton and chopsticks.  Designer paper is from Making Memories. As I type this, I'm thinking that I don't like those grosgrain ribbons on the side. Hmm, might have to get rid of 'em.

This is what the inside of the card looks like.

Isn't it cute? The stamp set comes with the ability to put a variety of sentiments into the fortune.

Blue bird

Hello! I've scheduled this to post since I'm up in Alaska again on business.

Stamps are from Verve and the bird is colored with Copic markers.

The blue designer paper is from Lasting Impressions that I've had stashed away for awhile. I used the name plate die from Lifestyle Crafts - it comes with the ability to outline in a single cut. I jut used sponged it blue to go with the rest of the card. I did turn it upside down and then added the blue pearls from Kaisercraft anchor it down.

That's it for today! I'm sure that I'm freezing and wondering what I'm doing in AK when it's in the 80's back home!  Thanks for stopping by!

Daisy chain

Hi everyone! Here is my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch #84.  I kept it pretty clean and simple.

Stamps are from The Stamps of Life. I stamped the chain in Versafine and heat embossed it using clear embossing powder. I then stamped the yellow daisy into the outline - several times before I got it right! Fishtail die from MFT used to cut it out. I popped it up using foam tape to give it a bit of definition.

Designer paper is from my local stamp store and the yellow is from Bazzill. White pears from Queen&Co. and used in the center of the flowers.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the weekend!

Sun?

In honor of all the beautiful sun we've been having here in Washington, I thought I'd post a sunflower for the occasion!

I cut out the flower and leaves from the tattered floral die by Tim Holtz using some canvas. I then used some distress dyes to color them up. After they dried, I used more distress inks to grunge them up a bit. The brown button for the center of the flower comes from American Crafts.

Embossing folder is from Darice and the cardstock is sugar cookie from Bazzill. I added the yellow polka dot designer paper since the dots match all of them in the embossing folder. Everything is layered in brown and a length of brown satin ribbon is run down the middle.

Thanks for stopping by! I'm headed out to enjoy the Vitamin D!
