Happy Birthday - SSC360

Welcome to another challenge over at Sunday Stamps. This time around we have a color inspiration board for you.

The sailboat dies are from the former Paper Smooches.  I also used an old Provo Craft embossing folder to create the waves and ink blended over it.  The tiny birthday sentiment is from The Paper Studio.

This is a fun color combo to work with. I can't wait to see what folks come up with. Link up here

happy birthday - TSOT#665

Hello and welcome back to another sketch challenge over at Try A Sketch on Tuesdays.

I kept mine super clean and simple this time.  The birthday sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp and the embossing folder is an old one from Provo Craft/Cuttlebug.  I used dark green cardstock from C&9th to layer and add the stripes on the side.  Sketch below and link to blog is here.

Season's Greetings

Hello. I'm playing in the clean and simple challenge of Tag, you're it over at The Paper Players today.

I upcycled a Lucky Brands tag from a pair of purchased jeans.

The snowflake die is from Echo Park. The sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink and I used an old 5 x 7 Provo Craft snowflake embossing folder for the background.

I used a frost spritz spray on the snowflakes and in real life they are so sparkly, but hard to capture on camera.

Thanks for stopping by!

Have a fintastic day

Hello! Playing in the Freshly Made Sketch tonight.

I decided to stamp something other than flowers for a change.

Stamps and dies are from Lawn Fawn. I used a Tim Holtz thinlits die on the lefthand side to represent bubbles.  Then I backed it with some darker blue water-featured scrapbook paper, which you can’t see anyway. Pft.

The wave embossing folder is an old one from Provo Craft that the orca is riding on. He is cut out several times and stacked together for dimension.

Thanks for stopping by!

Trio of butterflies

Hello everyone. It’s time for a new sketch challenge over at Try Stamping On Tuesdays.

The butterfly collage stamp is from Unity.  I stamped another two, colored both with Copic's, and fussy cut out two of the butterflies to pop up on the card. The script embossing folder is an old one from Provo Craft.

Here is the sketch for you to use as inspiration.

Winter snowflake mittens

Hi everyone. Playing in the sketch challenge over at The Paper Players today, the sketch is down below.

Do you ever have one of those days where everything is stacked against you when you think you have this fabulous idea for a card?  That was me on this one.  I was bound and determined to use this older mitten stamp and die set from Hero Arts. I was having a difficult time choosing the cardstock colors to match the designer paper from Gina K Designs. Should I go with a light or a dark-colored cardstock? I think I waffled on this three times before landing on the dark color.   I heat-embossed the stamp design using white detail embossing powder onto peacock cardstock from C&9th.

I used an old snowflake embossing folder from Provo Craft for the background.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hello and Welcome to another Fusion Card Challenge, where you can use the sketch or the photo or both. Here is what I did with it.

I went with the sketch this time around. Daisy is from Hero Arts and the thanks die is from Technique Tuesday. Designer paper is Spring Flowers from Moda Scrap and the embossing folder is from Provo Craft. Card base and all layering cardstock is navy.

Frosted flakes

Hey there. Here's my take on this week Freshly made sketch, which I also paired with two other challenges listed below.

I used some shimmer paper from Papetrey, Ink to emboss and cut out the snowlfakes.

Embossing folder is a 5x7 one from Provo Craft and the snowflake die is 5x5 square die and I have no idea where I got it from. Ugh!

Silver ribbon is from my ribbon stash and I tied the mini bow using the Bow Easy. Blue cardstock is also from PTI.

I popped up the embossed panel using fun foam and I also did spray some shimmer frost onto the blue panel but it doesn't really show up in the photo.

That's it for today. Thanks for stopping by.

Metallic snowflakes

Hi all. Here is my take on two challenges today.

I started with the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches. Just us girls trend week is metallic.

So I cut some snowflakes from metallic papers and popped them up on a snowflake embossed panel.

I did use two different thicknesses of foam squares as you can see in the smaller sideways picture below.

My picture is sort of dark as it's ugly gray rainy weather outside today. Perfect excuse to stay inside and craft.

 Thanks for stopping in!

Banner birthday

Hi everyone. Here's a quick card that I put together for two challenges today.  The Less is More challenge is to use a sticker, sticky label or peel off and I paired it with the Sunday Stamps sketch challenge.

I don't like the way the light hit the top ladybug sticker on the top left, the stickers are clear but it reflected the light. The stickers are really really old and from Provo Craft. As you can see, the bigger butterfly and the smaller one blend right into the card base. In real life it works.

I dug out my old Karen Foster snap stamps to stamp the happy across the banner and the birthday sentiment below.

OK, that's it for today. Thanks for stopping by.

Hello

Hi everyone! Here is my take (after many attempts) on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch.

When I saw this sketch I had something different in mind.

No matter what I did, something went wrong with the first several attempts. It wasn't straight, the blue's didn't match, you name it, it went wrong. Never meant to be, I guess. So, I scrapped it (translated: wadded up, torn up and thrown away violently) and went with this one instead.

I think coloring the flowers with Copic's calmed me down enough to let the mojo flow. LOL!

Flower stamps are from Stamplorations called blooming buds. The "hello" is from The paper studio.

I used the plaid embossing folder from Provo Craft in the back ground to give this a bit of texture. It's popped up off the card base with foam tape.

Dusted off the rectangle and tag dies from Spellfinders to cut out the main image and that little tag. Bow Easy made it easy (pft) to tie that tiny bow. ;-)

OK, back to work. Thanks for stopping by!

Gears

Hello again. Hubs is downstairs watching a movie that I have no desire to see, so that left me with either playing games on FB or trying to see if I could find the mojo.

Less is More recipe week is to use some metal on your card. Well, how about a 2 x 5.5 inch of metal sheeting?

Used the gear embossing folder from Provo Craft and then proceeded to grunge it up using distress products.

Started off with alcohol inks in Latte, Ginger and Copper then added some black soot paint, wiped if off a bit and ended up with this. I could've gone a bit further with adding more definition on the bottom but resisted. With my luck today, figured I would've just ruined it.

Backed it onto some black cardstock and then stuck that whole lot onto a kraft card base. Birthday sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

This makes a great masculine card for my stash! Thanks for stopping by!

ETA: Adding this to AAA cards game #40 for the guys.

Sparkle

Hi everyone! Here is my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch. I kept it very clean and simple!

The reason why I named this post "Sparkle" is that this sparkles in real life. The grey weather outside did not let me take a very good picture of this card to do it justice.

I started with some shimmer cardstock from PTI and played around with a navy reinker from Fresh Ink and some rubbing alcohol.  The back ground is a little uneven and wavy in the depth of the colors, which was very hard to pick up in the photo.

Sentiment is from PTI and the snowflakes is from a very very old set from Provo Craft. I stamped both the snowflakes and sentiment in versamark and then heat embossed using white embossing powder. I did this prior to playing around with the reinker and alcohol. Layered this with deep navy cardstock from Bazzill and found a length of silver ribbon in my stash to tie at the top.

Thanks for stopping by! I'm not going to brave the crowds this Holiday weekend, instead I'm going to stay in and try to organize my supplies. I can't find the counters any more! =(
