Merry Christmas - SSC391

Hello and welcome back to another sketch challenge over at Sunday Stamps.  The sketch is a square card this go around.

The background was created using a lot of different mediums onto a master board.  It includes gesso, paint and paperatsy infusions, stamps, stencils etc.  I used the blanket-stitched dies from Pink Fresh Studio to cut the squares out.

The snowflakes dies from My Favorite Things and the Merry Christmas sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.

Here is the sketch.

Let it bee

Hi. I decided to play with this week's Freshly Made Sketch again and came up with this.

I tore my stamps apart looking for a specific stamp and die set for the bee, and frustratingly, never found it.  Ended up fussy cutting this one from Recollections.  I added color using Copic markers and the wings have sparkle spritz on them.

The sentiment is from Creative Expressions, and the die is from Brass & Bliss. I had a yellow background already created in my background stash, so added that behind the dots.  The line of dots that is supposed to resemble the flight of the bee is done using a sewing tracing wheel in black ink.

Faux watercolor flower

Hello. I just received the new Willow Wolfe stamps from Sizzix and had to play right away.

I used distress inks in Victorian velvet, aged mahogany, and scattered straw to create the flower. I added the lighter ink first, spritzed with water, stamped, repeat with all other colors.  The leaf and stem stamp was done using tombow markers and a bit of water spritzed on it.

After this dried, I went back with the outline stamp and stamped it with Versafine ink.  Love the results.

Happy Birthday

Hello. Playing in this week's Freshly Made Sketch with the following card.  I'm a bit late to the mix but found a tag in my stash of junk journal stuff that worked really well for this sketch.  Of course, I had to cut it down to fit on a card front, but happy with it, nevertheless.

The tag itself is made from a paper towel roll.  The designer paper I believe is actually rice paper. I did dig around in my stash to see if I could find it, but of course I was not successful.

The sentiment is from Altenew's one go solid sentiment press plate.  Both the tag and the sentiment are popped up using foam tape.

Lastly, the addition on the top right of the tag is a skin I created using stencil butter that is adhered to a silicone mat that had wonderful texture to it.  After it dried, it peeled right off and I glued it onto the tag.

Ribbon colored with Copic markers for the top of the tag.

Winter wishes - TSOT687

Hello. There is a new sketch up over at Try a Sketch on Tuesday and it's a fun one!

I obviously flipped it to take advantage of more space to work with on this sketch.  The houses, church and tree dies are from Gina K Designs.  The mountain dies are very old and I cannot remember where they are from, if I had to guess, it would be MFT.

Ink blended the sky and mountains using Distress inks.  I did put some gold sparkly vellum behind the buildings to represent lights.

Hope you play along with us by linking up here!
Take care.

Hello and welcome to another sketch challenge at Try a Sketch on Tuesdays.  Here is the card I made and the sketch for you to use.

The sun ray is blended using bright yellow ink from Pink Fresh studio.  All the dies are from different companies that worked well together to create this get-well card.  The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn.  I used Copic markers to highlight the clouds and popped them up using foam tape.

Hi

Hi! I'm playing in the Just Add Ink photo inspiration challenge today.  Kept this clean and simple.

The big "hi" die is a die from My Favorite Things. The stencil is an unbranded one and I used Simon Says Stamp saturated ink.  The card base is black so that the tulip panel stands out a bit more.

Thanks for stopping by.

Simple things - SSC347

Hello and welcome to another challenge over at Sunday Stamps.  Here is what I made using the inspiration color prompt photo.

I decided to create a specimen tag using some dried lavender for this color prompt challenge.  The purples called out to me for some reason.

I randomly stamped the lavender on the purple card base using an older stamp from Technique Tuesdays greenhouse society line.  I used some of that fantastic cello tape from Tim Holtz to hold down the lavender. I then stamped some script onto the white tag using shaded lilac oxide ink. Added some rub-ons and fibers that matched the cardstock and called it good.

Miss you - TFC95

Hello everyone. Here is your mid-month reminder about the current challenge going on over at The Flower Challenge blog.  Here is another card that I created for the current challenge.

The flower stamp is from Penny Black. I used Tombow markers on the stamp, then spritzed it and stamped it onto watercolor cardstock.  The sentiment stamp is from My Favorite Things.  I also layered the panel with dark purple cardstock (which looks black in the photo) to match the flowers.

With Sympathy

Hello. I have been playing around with Ranger distress inks and making backgrounds in fall colors. One of them turned into this.

The maple leaf die is from Simon Says Stamp. I used scorched timber distress ink to ink up the edges before popping it up using foam tape.  The embossing folder is an older one from Sizzix and the sentiment and die are from My favorite things.  I did layer the embossed panel onto a very dark green piece of cardstock (which looks almost black in the photo).
