Sketch challenge - dragonflies

It’s time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week we were challenged to follow the sketch below.

I stepped out of my comfort zone on colors with this one. The big dragonfly is stamped in versamark and heat embossed with copper embossing powder. The background is created using the smaller dragonfly silhouettes, versamark and clear embossing powder. Then I went to work with Distress Inks in antique linen and vintage photo. The layer in the back is metallic copper.

So, what are you waiting for?!

Why not play along with us and start stamping up a card now. We can’t wait to see your creations!
Don’t forget… Take part in any of our challenges, the more you play along, the more chances you have to win! Each submission enters you in the drawing for our gift certificate. A crazy little thing called....

Hello - Playing in The Paper Players sketch challenge today.

Great little sketch with lots of possibilities.  The only challenge with me on this one is the dreary day outside that really messed with my photo taking ability!  Yikes! Still not totally satisfied with the picture, but went with this one anyway.

Stitched heart die is from Pink and Main. I embossed the white panel behind the heart with the same die (it's one that has double stitching) but it did NOT come through in the picture. Sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp. Die cut the word love from glossy black cardstock. Designer paper is from Bazzill basic paper.

Thanks for stopping by.

Thinking of you

It’s time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week is "Anything Goes."

I really got stuck and was missing my mojo for a bit and struggled trying to find something to do for this challenge. The mail came and as I was looking through one of the magazines a sheet set caught my eye. It was floral and so very pretty - so I used that as a jumping off point on this one.

Flower power background stamps used randomly to create the background. I cut several "thinking" dies out and stacked them up for dimension. Stamped out the "of you" to go with. Once I had everything placed and glued down, I went back in with Fabrika Decoru and filled in the flower centers.

Stamps:
10207-E, Flower Cluster Solid
10204-D, Leaf Cluster Solid

CAS just a note

Hi all. Playing in the Simon Says Stamp clean and simple challenge today.

Poppy stamp is from Technique Tuesday. I colored onto the stamp with Memento markers and then huffed on it to reactivate the ink. I stamped the middle flowers twice because I didn't get a good impression the first time around and it left a really cool layering effect. To see it click on the pictgure to enlarge.

Sentiment and cardstock is from Papertrey, Ink.

Have a great weekend!

Hey there - Decided to try my hand coloring up some crocus using colored pencils on kraft cardstock.

I used polychromos this time around. Crocus stamp is from Technique Tuesday Greenhouse Society. I stamped it in versamark then heat embossed in detail white.

Sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp. The stitched frame dies are from MFT.

Entering this into the Inkspirational designers choice challenge.

Thanks for stopping by.

May all your dreams come true

Hello!
It’s time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week we were challenged to use the following as an inspiration palette.

Since it's a new year, I went with a shaker card to celebrate the occasion. I cut the star out using my Brother Scan N Cut. I backed the star with gold mirror cardstock and filled it up with an assortment of sequins, micro beads, etc. The gold glitter stars were die cut using the smallest star I have in my die collection with gold glitter paper. I stuck three on the front of the card for added interest. The sentiment is heat embossed in gold.

So, what are you waiting for?!

Ducks and more ducks

Hello. Playing in the Twofer Challenge of Birds today. I've had this sentiment from IO about having all your ducks in a row for a while and it has not seen ink until now.  I decided to put it to use with an old stamp set from There She Goes, which is no longer in business.

Anyway, two cards morphed into three.....

Ducks are colored with Copic's and cut out using my Brother Scan N Cut. The bottom two sentiments are also from There She Goes.

Thanks for stopping by.

Camellia on kraft

Good Morning. Playing in the Inspirational challenge of using kraft today.

I stamped the Camellia with Versamark then heat embossed with fine detail white embossing powder from Ranger. Then colored up this beauty with Prismacolor pencils. All stamps from Technique Tuesdays Greenhouse Society, but sadly it has been retired.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for dropping by.

Heartfelt Sympathy

Hello - Playing in the Freshly Made Sketch this week. I kind of waited till the last minute, but I'm very happy with what I ended up with.

The leaf is a stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and I used Fresh Ink (which is a pigment ink) in Limeade and Basil and a finger dauber to create the corners.

Sympathy sentiment is from Honey Bee and is stamped in Versafine Clair ink and then heat embossed in clear. I chose to heat emboss so that I could wipe away the ink left after stenciling.  Added three dew drops to add some interest, but kept it as CAS as I could.

ETA: Entering this into the CAS Stencil Challenge as well.

Thanks for stopping by!

Adventure

It’s time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week we were challenged to use the Tic-Tac-Toe board below.

I went with blue, dimension and twine.

I put the compass in my Misti and used navy ink which I stamped a couple of times in order to get a good amount of ink onto the paper.  Cut it out with a circle die and used foam tape to attach it to the navy circle. Did the same with the sentiment. Added the sting (tied a square knot for added interest) onto the base and finished off with a few dew drops. The marbled paper is from Joann's Ms. Sparkle & Co.  The card base is actually a deep navy blue.

So, what are you waiting for?!

Get well soon

Hello. Playing in The Flower Challenge today. It's a color challenge of pink and gray and here is what I came up with.

Stamps and dies are from Avery Elle except for the striped design in the back ground. That is a back ground stamp from Sunny Studio and it's stamped in Versafine Clair morning mist ink. I also used the same ink to stamp the fern's that are sticking out behind the flowers and leaves. The dots are done using a .005 Zig Millennium marker. Added a touch of sparkle to the center of the flowers with a stardust gel pen. Gray cardstock is from MFT.

Thanks for stopping by!

Snow globe

Hello and Happy New Year. We are starting off this week with a designer Choice Challenge. It's Esther's turn and she wants to see snow globes. Here is what I did with it.

The green tree's are a cover die. I sponged on some green ink to the trees and left the outside alone. Ran a piece of white cardstock through the Swiss dots embossing folder (also the stamped globe) so that it appears to be snowing.

I used my Brother Scan N Cut to cut out the snow globe. The base is colored with Copics.

Stamps used on this card:
8901-L, Snow Globe
2709-I, Large Pine Forest
8611-E, Thinking
