Sketch challenge - Miracles happen

It’s time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week we were challenged to follow the sketch.

Tulip bouquet is colored with Copic's. Designer paper is from an old 6 x 6 paper stack that I've had in my stash for so long that the cover is now missing. So, I have no idea who made it.

So, what are you waiting for?!

Why not play along with us and start stamping up a card now. We can’t wait to see your creations!
Don’t forget… Take part in any of our challenges, the more you play along, the more chances you have to win! Each submission enters you in the drawing for our gift certificate. And you don’t always have to use our stamps in your creations, but we will reward you if you do. Each submission using a
Repeat Impressions stamp will earn you an additional entry in the drawing!

Also, check out our Rock Star blogs to see what they did with the challenge.

Thinking of you, 1 layer

Hello. Yes, two posts from me today. DH had to work and I got to play in the craft room! Here's a one layer card to go with the challenge over at Less is More.

Stamps are from Wplus9. Colored with Copic's. I stamped it in Extreme Black ink from My Favorite Things, which is supposed to be Copic's friendly. However, it did smudge a bit with the pink flower on the left. Next time, I'll heat set it a bit before coloring.

Thanks for stopping by!

Official memo

Hello and happy Monday. Saw the sketch challenge over at The Paper Players and decided to play along since I needed a few birthday cards this week.

This one is going out a to co-worker. Stamps are from My Favorite Things. The designer grid paper is from Papertrey, Ink. Colored with Copic's. Kept this very clean and simple since it's obviously going to a guy.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping in.

Sketch challenge #273

Hello, here is sketch #273 over at CAS Colours & Sketches.

Sweet pea stamp is a stamp from the former There She Goes stamps. Colored with Copic's. Designer paper is from paper pack; Hello Beautiful from Marta Piekarczyk. Sentiment is from Hero Arts.

I didn't realize that I made two get well cards for this month. However, I will tell you that my boss was in Minnesota for meetings and ended up having to go to the Hospital in an ambulance, while she was there. She lives in California, so you can imagine what she was going through. She was on my mind while I was making cards for the challenges.

Thank you to the DT members over at CAS Colours & Sketches for having me as a guest designer for the month of May.

Have a wonderful day.

You're in my thoughts

Hey there! Playing in The Paper Players challenge of blooms today.

Rhodie stamp is from Technique Tuesday's Greenhouse Society. I colored it based upon the picture below which is from my garden. Copic markers used to color it. I used my Brother Scan N Cut to cut the bloom out, then popped it up off of the square using foam dimensional adhesive.

Background stamp is from Hero Arts called lattice. The sentiment is from Wplus9. I cut the dragonfly from a thick foil and then colored it with black alcohol ink. I really like how I could manipulate the wings using it.
Thanks for stopping in!

Stenciled cards

Hello. Playing in Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge today, and it's all about using a stencil.

This card uses the polka dot stencil from Altenew and some colored embossing paste. Birthday sentiment is from PTI.

To make this one, I stamped out several nails and cut them out using my Brother Scan N Cut in order to create my own stencil. Distress oxide ink in ice spruce used to create the background. Then I popped up the a few nails using a strip of foam tape. Stamps are from Technique Tuesday.

So, one real and one made stencil used on the cards today. Thanks for stopping in.

Hello. Playing with some new stamps today and decided to give this weeks Freshly Made Sketch a try.

Stamps are from Technique Tuesday. Colored with Copic's.  Polka dot designer paper is from the paper studio.

Can't you just smell the lilac? Mine is just about done blooming, which is a shame because they smell so wonderful. This is one flower I wish lasted longer. Have a great weekend!

Hello. It’s time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week we were challenged to use the following photo for inspiration.

Get well soon - Color challenge #272

Hello - it's color week over at CAS Colours & Sketches.

I had to dig around in my stash of papers to come up with colors that went with the graphic above. My yellow is a bit bright, but at least its cheerful. Stamps and dies are from Avery Elle. Stitched tag die is from My Favorite Things.

Inks: Fresh pigment ink in Pear, Cheerful ink from Versafine Clair (really, that's what it's called). That embossing folder, I think it came free with a stamping magazine I purchased a while ago.  Anyway, I stamped a few flowers on the inside of the card as well.

I made a second card for this color combo because I goofed and did two get well cards. I decided to leave the first one, but here is the second.

The flower die is from Simon Says Stamp - it's in their envelop die set. I just lined it up three times and then taped strips of coordinating cardstock behind it. Fabrika Decoru white enamel used for the flower centers. Sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping.

Thanks for stopping in!

Dragonfly, just because

Hello. The sketch over at TGIF Challenges caught my eye and this is what I did with it.

I had a piece of water color paper left over from another project and decided to do a ombre color wash using the aquamarine Avery Elle liquid water colors. After I heat set it, I stamped the background using the lattice stamp from Hero Arts. I used versamark and clear embossing powder so that it came out subtle, but had some impact.

Scalloped pointed die used at the bottom is from Pretty Pink Posh.  Sentiment is from Hero Arts and that wonderful dragonfly is from Stampin Up!

That is it for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Hello

Hello! Here's a card I made today using the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.

Stamp is from Simon Says Stamp and colored with Copic's. Added a few white dots onto the flowers using a jelly white gel pen. Hello die is from Savvy Stamps. I cut it out using black cardstock and then added black embossing powder on top in several layers to create some depth and shine.

Thanks for stopping by, and Happy Mother's Day weekend.

Hello.
It’s time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week we were challenged to use the following Tic-Tac-Toe grid to create from.

Sketch challenge #271

Hello. It's sketch time over at CAS Colors & Sketches and here is your inspiration.

As you can see, I turned the sketch on it's side.

This is actually an all in one die from Simon Says Stamp, the squares are all lined up in a neat little row. I used it to show case this flower stamp from Impress Rubber Stamps.

I used the new Versafine Clair ink in Glamorous (absolutely love this new pigment ink) and then heat embossed it using clear embossing powder.

Sentiment is from WPlus9. Used the R29 Copic marker to color the skinny white satin ribbon and then tied a tiny bow using the bow easy.

Hope this inspires you to play along.

Forever friends

Hello again. Playing in two challenges today. Following the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches and paired it with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of Animal Magic.

Stamps are from Pretty Pink Posh and colored with Copic's. I picked up the alphabet beads at Impress rubber stamps the last time I was in. Strung them on a piece of hemp and then glued them down. Added the stars for a bit of interest. The front piece of cardstock is die cut with an oval and then embossed with a texture plate. It's really hard to see in the picture though,  today's a bit gloomy out.

Have a great weekend and thanks for visiting.

Guest designing for Crop Stop

Hello everyone,
I'm guest designing for Crop Stop today.

How I created this card:
1. Using Ken Oliver color bursts in lemon yellow and burnt orange. Start with watercolor paper and spritz with water.
2. I dropped a lot of the lemon yellow onto the paper and swirled it around.
3. Next, I spritzed with water again and dropped a few drops of burnt orange and let the water do the work.
4. Let dry and then layered it with black cardstock and added it onto a white card base.
5. Cut a butterfly out of white cardstock using the memory box solid butterfly die.
6. Sponge on some Oxide inks in squeezed lemonade and spiced marmalade.
7. Next stamp some polka dots onto it for some added interest - then layered a solid black one behind it so that it would stand out from the watercolor background that I created.
8. Die cut the word hello out of black and then used Nuvo crystal glaze to put some shine on it.
9. Adhere the butterfly using a foam square and bend the wings on it so that it appears to be flying.
10. Add the sentiment.

Hope this inspires you to be creative today.

DCC - Single layer card

Hello. It’s time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week it's a designer choice challenge and Donna wants us to do a single layer card.

I used distress ink for the sand, Memento sky blue for the sky and I do have some very subtle clouds in the background. I did hand draw in the birds.  Palm tree and Adirondack chair colored with Prismacolor pencils.  Lots of masking on this one.

So, what are you waiting for?!

Why not play along with us and start stamping up a card now. We can’t wait to see your creations!

Guest designing for CAS Colours & Sketches

Hello. I'm excited to announce that I have been picked to be a guest designer over at CAS Colours and Sketches for the month of May.

Here is our first challenge.

Here is what I did with it.

Flower dies are from Simon Says Stamps, as is the sentiment. The stamp set is called Flower Friend. It included the spotted flower center that you see on the cut outs. I stamped them in unicorn white pigment ink from Hero Arts, then heat embossed them so that it would stand out.

Frame is a die from My Favorite Things. Dew drops added to balance out the card.

Thanks for stopping in and I hope you join in for the challenge!
