Just because

Hello and Welcome to another Fusion Card Challenge, where you can use the sketch or the photo or both. Here is what I did with it.

I opted to go with the sketch this time around. Peony stamp is from Simon Says Stamp and is stamped on watercolor paper and heat embossed with Ranger white detail embossing powder. I used Tombow markers to watercolor it.  Sentiment is from Memory Box. Designer paper is from my stash.

Please check out the Design Team’s creations for this challenge, once again, they have knocked it out of the park.

Congratulations

Hi all - Snow day here. I've got about 12 inches on the ground and stuck in the house. So, decided to play in the latest Mojo Monday sketch #553. It's supposed to be a mini slim line edition, but I made mine the traditional size.

Flower and sentiment are from Simon Says Stamp. I heat embossed the flower onto watercolor paper using detail white from Ranger. Watercolored it using Tombow markers.  Pink designer paper is from Papertrey, Ink.

Thanks for stopping by - onto the next project, since it's better than shoveling snow!

Bright birthday tag

Hi everyone. It's time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week our challenge is the use the following graphic.

I went with the color's and created this tag for this card. Distress oxide inks used to blend the colors that are in the photo. I used the flower background stamp and heat embossed it in white, then blended out the colors.

There's a new challenge every week over at  The House That Stamps Built, and you don't have to use Repeat Impressions stamps to link up or win. Also, for my blog readers: Enjoy the 10% discount code to the Repeat Impressions Store posted on the sidebar.

One lucky person will win a $25 Repeat Impressions Gift Certificate on the first Wednesday of every month – Good luck!

Also, check out our Rock Star blogs to see what they did with the challenge.

Project of the week - colored pencils on kraft

Hello! It's my turn over at The House That Stamps Built to feature a project of the week. I'm using my Prismacolor pencils to color on kraft cardstock.

I stamped the tulip vase in versamark ink, then heat embossed it in fine detail white embossing powder. I chose to use shades of blue for the vase and then pinks and green for the tulips. I also used the blender pencil to blend the colors.

To get the highlights on the vase, I used the white pencil to add some "light" and then blended.

Here is a close up of the finished design. I ended up using deep navy cardstock to layer everything. I like how well it set off the finished vase of tulips.

Thanks and have a wonderful day!

Blue Hydrangeas

Hello. I had a bit of time today and decided to play in the CAS colours and sketches challenge.

Hydrangea stamp is from Ellen Hutson. I heat embossed this with detail white embossing powder then put some watercolor to it. Cut out a square piece of the finished sheet and then layered it with contrasting colors. Yellow Fabrika Decoru used for the centers of the flower.

Lattice embossing folder used for some texture on the white panel in the background.

OK, back to my weekend chores. Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday

I'm sharing the birthday card I made for Wendy, who is the owner of Repeat Impressions, which I also happen to design for.  Anyway, I had sent her the card prior to taking a photo of it and had to make another. So, here is the duplicate to post for her today.

The "happy birthday" dies are from The Ton.  The background flower stamp and dragonfly are Repeat Impression stamps. The flower background stamp is stamped in veramark and then heat embossed using white embossing powder. I then blended some distress oxide inks on it and mounted it behind the die cut panel. It made a very colorful and cheerful CAS card.

Happy Birthday, Wendy!

Just us Girls - code word SEA

Hi everyone! I'm excited and honored to be voted the April guest designer for Just Us Girls. Here is the first challenge for April.

Stamps are from Papertrey, Ink. I've had this little set in my collection for a while and have never used it. Whale is colored with Copic's and cut out using the coordinating die. The waves, sentiment and smaller fish are all heat embossed using fine white embossing powder from Ranger. I used the new Oxide distress inks to create the Sea.

Why not join the challenge this week (or all month long) over at Just Us Girls.

Thanks for stopping by!

For you

Hello. Here is my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch.

I did change it up a bit and added the sentiment on the right instead of the left.

Flower stamp is from Simon Says Stamp. I stamped it in Versamark and heat embossed it using detail white embossing powder from Ranger. Then I colored them with Copic's. Beware, the white embossing powder will get on the nibs of your marker, however it did not have a negative effect on how it colored.

Sentiment is from Pretty Pink Posh.

Lattice embossing folder use for the back ground.

Entering this into the SSS Wednesday challenge, too.

That's it for today - thanks for stopping in.

Repeat Impressions Photo Inspiration

Hi everyone! Here is the photo inspiration to work from over at The House that stamps built for Repeat Impressions. Link here.

I really was challenged big time with this one. I just couldn't get my green's to work right. The darker colors I used were all too dark.  So, I ended up going with a lighter green and came up with the following two cards.
This one is water colored after stamping in Versamark and heat embossing with white embossing powder. Added a few dew drops for interest. I'm liking the soft muted look of this. Zig Kuretake real brush markers used to water color.

This one is brighter still..... Same stamps except this is colored in Copic's.

Added white Nuvo Cyrtal Drops for the centers of the flowers, the black dots are done with a irRESISTible pen. The curve is done using a border die for added interest and then I decided to stamp a bit on the inside of the card.

Don't forget to go by the The House that Stamps Built to check out what the other Rock Stars did with this challenge. Also, we'd love for you to play along. One lucky person will win a $25 Repeat Impressions Gift Certificate!

Hello

Hi there. Here is my take on the challenge over at Just Us Girls. It's trend week and the key word is Vellum.

Stamps are from Simon Says Stamp.

I stamped everything in Versamark and then heat embossed it using white detail embossing powder from Ranger.

To color the vellum, I got out my Zig water color markers and using a small round paint brush and water added the colors. Once dry, I add on some sparkle using the clear Wink of Stella pen.

To get the vellum to stay on the cardstock, I added some Stick it! to the back of it. I did burnish it using my bone folder, but as you can see, it's not a perfect way to glue down the vellum.

Purple cardstock is from MFT. White satin bow colored with Copic's and ties using the Bow Easy.

Close up of the sparkle.

That's it for today. Thanks for dropping by.

The most wonderful time

Hello! I'm sitting at home waiting for the clinic to call me back. I have a very swollen face from a tooth that is acting up. Hurts like the dickens and the dentist won't see me until the swelling goes down. Pft! Health care is so frustrating right now!

Anyway, enough of my rant, here is my take on the CAS Christmas card challenge over at The Paper Players.

Stamps are from Verve. I stamped the mittens in versafine ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder so that I could color them. I used B93 and B95 Copic markers.

The heart was stamped in white, but it was really faint. Decided to add a bit of fine white embossing powder to make it stand out and give it a bit of shine.

Sentiment is from the set. All paper is from Papertrey, ink.

I think this is as clean and as simple as you could get, huh? Thanks for stopping by.
