Inspiration palette - just because

It’s time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week we were challenged to use the following inspirational photo.

Aren't these crocuses awesome? They are colored with Zig real brush markers.

As you can see I chose to go with the color palette on the side. Since its a bit early for Hydrangeas, I decided to go with the flower that is always early and tells me spring is right around the corner.

Celebrate the Season

Hello. Yes, second post today. Whew. Trying to get my Christmas cards done and in the mail. So, this one covers the challenges at Less is More and TGIF.

Poinsettia stamp is from Technique Tuesday. I stamped this on water color paper and then water colored it using Zig clean brush markers. After it was dry I cut it out using my Brother Scan N Cut.

Sentiment is from Hero Arts and heat embossed. Tied a piece of gold cord into a small bow and glued it on the stem. Both Poinsettia and sentiments are popped up using foam tape.

I also added some sparkle to the poinsettia using the clear spectrum sparkle pen.

Hello. Playing with this weeks Freshly Made Sketch.

Altenew's Peony Bouquet used here. I t stamped the largest outline flower in Versamark and then heat embossed using fine white embossing powder onto watercolor paper.  Watercolored with Kuretake zig pens and the fussy cut out. Same with the leaves.

Thanks is a die cut, used black metallic paper so that it has a bit of shine. Embossed the panel in back with a quadrefoil embossing folder for some added dimension.

Watercolored roses

Hello. Playing in the challenge over at TGIF, which is to watercolor your main image.

Flowers stamps are from Simon Says Stamp.  I used Zig real brush markers and a water brush to create the effect behind the stamped roses and leaves.

Stipple Butterfly

Hello, everyone.  Here is my latest creation for two challenges today. I originally had this mounted on a white card base, but the tree back ground just got lost, so I switched it up to black.

I have no idea who makes this tree limb back ground stamp. I got it at a stamp fair and forgot to mark it. I used Mojito green ink from Fresh Ink to stamp it with. Cut it up, added some fum foam to the back and stuck it on.

Recognize this butterfly? It's the retired stipple butterfly from Stamin Up! I stamped it on Fabriano hot press watercolor paper (recent purchase off of Amazon, cheaper than Arches, works the same) and used the Zig real brush water color pens and a water brush to color this beauty up. Fussy cut it out, added wire antenna's along with some foam square for dimension and called it done.

Watercolored Pumpkins

Hi all. I got a chance (between loads of laundry) to make this card for two challenges today.  The Paper Players theme is Halloween and Addicted to CAS is watercolor. Here is what I did with them.

The pumpkin stamp is a very old one from Inkadinkado. I stamped it on watercolor paper, heat embossed it then painted then with my Zig real brush markers.

Sentiment is from the former There She Goes stamp company.

Designer paper is from American Crafts.

Hi everyone! Here is my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch.

Flower stamp is from the former There She Goes stamp company. I stamped it in Versafine ink then heat embossed it so that I could do a bit of water coloring with my Zig markers.

Designer paper is from My Favorite Things and the sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.

I haven't used my oval nestabilities in so long - fun to dig them out and play around again.

The House That Stamps Built - Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone, it's time for a new sketch challenge over at The House That Stamps Built.

Here is the sketch.

I used the You cling set which can be found here to create this card.

I got a little creative and did a bit of searching on the internet for some sheet music. I don't have any designer paper of that sort (gasp) in my stash. I know, strange huh? Anyways, came across a site that had some I could print for free. Bonus and the sheet music is the theme from Downton Abbey. Sure do miss that show.

Magnolias

Hi everyone. Here's a card that combines two challenges today.

I started off with the sketch challenge over at Sunday Stamps. I did use a long rectangle instead of the circle, though.

Magnolia stamp is from Inspired by Stamping. I stamped it onto Arches hot press water color paper and then water colored it using my Zig real brush water color markers.

Purple designer/patterned paper is from My Favorite Things and the thanks is a die cut. I did use some fun foam to add some thickness to it so it would stand out.

Enamel dots are from Queen & Co.  So, that gives me a tic-tac-toe for The Paper Players Challenge.

Watercolor dragonfly

Hello everyone. Here is what I did with the watercolor CAS challenge over at The Paper Players.

Stamp is from Deep Red, dragonfly flourish. I stamped it in versamark,then heat embossed in white embossing powder.

I used distress ink in shaded lilac to color around the dragonfly and then used Zig markers to color the dragonfly itself.

On the white card base I heat embossed swirls all over the place to go with the design of the main image.

I resisted adding anything else to this to keep it as CAS as possible.

RI Designer choice - It's a mans world

Hi everyone. It's designer choice over at The House That Stamps Built and Shirley is the designer with the choice. Her choice is: It's a mans world and here is what I did with it.

I used 1704-P Great blue heron. I stamped it onto water color paper and then used my Zig real brush water color markers to color him in.

The second layer is real wood paper that I've been hoarding for a while. It work really well against the black card base and my main image.
