With Sympathy

Hello. I recently came across this watercolor panel in my scrap pile and decided to turn it into a card.

Sentiment is from My Favorite Things.  I know that I used Tombow markers on the stamp and then added splatter to finish it off.  The green dot designer paper is an old piece from lasting impressions that I've had in my stash forever.  My card base is slightly darker than my watercolor paper, but decided to go for it anyway!

Adding this into the sympathy challenge over at CAS on Sunday.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sending hugs - SSC382

Hello and welcome back to another sketch challenge over at Sunday Stamps.

I ink blended an oval for the background and raised the sentiment panel a bit for this one.  I used Simon Says Stamp marine blue ink and stenciled through a die cut oval first.  Then I stamped the flower branch through it as well.  The stamp is from Alison Bombers Paper Artsy collection, and I used Tombow markers and huffed on them to stamp.

Sentiment is from The Stamp Market.  The little banner die is from Technique Tuesday.

Hope you join us for this sketch challenge. Thanks for stopping by.

Faux watercolor flower

Hello. I just received the new Willow Wolfe stamps from Sizzix and had to play right away.

I used distress inks in Victorian velvet, aged mahogany, and scattered straw to create the flower. I added the lighter ink first, spritzed with water, stamped, repeat with all other colors.  The leaf and stem stamp was done using tombow markers and a bit of water spritzed on it.

After this dried, I went back with the outline stamp and stamped it with Versafine ink.  Love the results.

Christmas blessings

Hello.  Here is my last reminder card for The Flower Challenge. Sniff!

After 9 years of The Flower Challenge the December challenge will be our last. We want to thank all our design team members, past and present, and especially all our participants over the years. Finally, we thank Aileen Ryan for coming up with the idea and running the challenge in conjunction with Viv Hodge for the first 7 years. We will post the winners as usual on the 4th of January 2026. The challenge blog will remain open for floral inspiration. We will be back with our reminder post on the 15th.

The stamp is from Penny Black and I used watercolor Tombow markers to color the outline and then spritzed with water.  The sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

Thanks for stopping by.

With Sympathy

Hello. I'm playing in the Freshly Made Sketch challenge today with this sympathy card.

The branch stamp is an old woodblock one from Memory Box.  I used Tombow markers to color the branch and leaves, and then huffed on it to reactivate the inks.
The stitch dot dies are from Jillian Vance Designs, and the sympathy sentiment is from The Ton.

Thanks for stopping in.

Just a note TFC#103

Hello everyone! We have a new challenge over at The Flower Challenge. We want to see embossing, either heat or dry.

I used an embossing folder from Spellbinders that I've had for a bit but haven't used.

The flower stamp is from Just for Fun. I used Tombow markers to color directly on the stamp and reactivated the ink by huffing on it.  The sentiment is from The Ton.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hello

Hello. I'm playing in a few challenges with this family of bears today.

I stamped, colored and cut out the bears from My Favorite Things to create this scene.  I paper-pieced their scarves using plaid designer paper from Say it with stamps/photoplay's Holiday plaid 6x6 paper pad. The tree stamp is from Gina K Designs. I used distress oxide ink in tumbled glass and stenciled on the clouds in the background.

Finally added a bit of twine and a tag to say Hello. The hello sentiment is from Altenew and the tag die is an old one from Papertrey, Ink. I used foam squares to bring the bears up from the background.  The stitched frame is cut three times and glued together as well.

Thanks for stopping in. I'm entering this into the following challenges:
Tic Tac Toe challenge (see graphic below)
My time to craft - winter animals
Jingle bells - not a creature was stirring
Simon Says Stamp - anything goes

Miss you - TFC95

Hello everyone. Here is your mid-month reminder about the current challenge going on over at The Flower Challenge blog.  Here is another card that I created for the current challenge.

The flower stamp is from Penny Black. I used Tombow markers on the stamp, then spritzed it and stamped it onto watercolor cardstock.  The sentiment stamp is from My Favorite Things.  I also layered the panel with dark purple cardstock (which looks black in the photo) to match the flowers.

with sympathy

Hi everyone. I decided to try my hand at the Retro Rubber sketch challenge before the time ran out.

The main panels are stamped using an old wood mounted stamp from Memory Box called spring branch. It must be at least 10+ years old. To color it, I used Tombow markers and huffed on it to get a good impression before cutting it down into squares.

Sentiment is a new one from My Favorite Things. Since this is a sympathy card, I kept it clean and simple.

Thanks for stopping by!

A note to say hello

Hello! Welcome to another challenge over at The Flower Challenge blog. We are looking for you to add a Heart to your project, along with the required flower image.

Here is the card I created.

The tulip stamp is an old wood block stamp from Stamps by Judith. I stamped it on watercolor paper twice using Tombow markers to color it and spritzed it with water.  I've always thought the right-hand flower looked like a heart.  But just to be on the safe side, I embossed a small heart on the lower right-hand corner.  The Sentiment is from Wplus9 and the stitched dot die is from Jillian Vance Designs.

Here is the cue card for this month’s challenge.

Fall birthday card

Hello. Using an old Memory Box stamp to create this fall birthday card today.

I used Tombow markers to color directly on the stamp, spritzed it with a shot of water, and stamped it on the cardstock. The birthday stamp is from Jaded Blossom. Cut the panel out with a stitched cover die from MFT stamps, then adhere it to a dark chocolate card base.

Here are a few challenges that I'm adding this to:

Get well soon

The Cherry blossom stamp is from the former Raisin Boat stamp company. I used TomBow markers on it and spritzed with water to get the watercolor look that the stamp is all about.  The get well sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.

Thinking of you

Hello - playing in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of "thinking of you" - I had this one colored up already in my unused card bit bin just waiting for me to make it into a card.

The stamp and sentiment are from Altenew. I watercolored it with Tombow markers. Splattered it with white and black paint.

The silver plaid panel is from Sizzix Tim Holtz, I just used one of the plaid panels. Ironically, this has been sitting on my island since I got the dies, just waiting for me to put it to use.
