Party chick!

Hello everyone and Happy New Year! I was sorting through all my stamps yesterday and came across all of my Studio G mini clear sets that were popular at M's a while ago for like $1. This little bird was always one of my favorites and works really well for the Simon Says let's Party challenge.

I stamped all of them using versafine and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

Colored with Copic's, added a layer of mint cardstock from Simon Says Stamp and then placed them on the white card base. I popped up the present panel using foam tape to add a bit of interest to the card. I used the mini perfect layer tool on these and it was still a bit of a challenge to get the cuts straight on these little buggers. The smallest rectangle nesties were used to cut them out.

The mint dots came from M's reflection line that I've had in my stash for a while.

FMS136 - you came, you sawed

Hey everyone! Here is my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch and I've also paired it with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of die crazy.

Stamps and dies are "all the fixings" from Taylored Expressions.

I cut out the peg board using kraft cardstock and used foam tape to attached it to the card base. The silver pearls are from Michael's reflections collection an are self adhesive.

I cut the saw and the bold out using silver foil paper. You can actually see a reflection of my fingers in the saw in the picture of the card. Too funny!

I used real cork and real wood for the two pieces under the circle sentiment.

Love this new set from Taylor Expressions because it gives me a few more options when making masculine cards.

LIM170 - just ducky

Hello! Here is my take on the color challenge over at Less is More.

The challenge was to use three colors or three shades of the same color, which I've done both.

Ducks and sentiment came from the now closed There She Goes stamps. I've colored up the fun little guys using shades of yellow Copic markers.

Rectangle nesties used to cut the little darlings out and then layered with black cardstock. The tiny black pearls are from the Reflection line at M's. Orange and yellow cardstock are from Bazzill.

LIM - round and round

Hi everyone! I gave the round and round challenge over at Less is More a whirl and this is what I came up with.

I was actually inspired by the quilt that I found on Pinterest seen below. I didn't CASE it 100% but it gave me some ideas on where to start.

Using circle nesties I cut out different sized circles using shades of purple cardstock from Bazzill. To adhere them onto the card base I used K&Company wacky tack.

Flowers are cut from a die from PTI, I also used a Holly die from Sizzix to make the centers of the flowers white. Then I added yellow candy dots from Reflections to it to finish it off. I used a shade purple at first but didn't like the contrast so went with the yellow.

The Hello is from Simon Says Stamp and it was part of a larger saying. I decided to part ways with the other words with a pair of sharp scissors.

Well, that's it for now. Off to clean house and do laundry but hope to get creative in between.

Hello all! Sharing another digi stamp card today! This one is going to make a cute anniversary card for DH in September!

Digi stamp is called geeky love by Make it Crafty. I colored them with Copic's and used a square nestie to cut it out.

The fishtail banners were cut out and then embossed to add some texture. Sentiment is from Verve and cut out using their label die. Added two tiny gold pearls for some bling and were done!

Miss you like crazy

  Hi everyone! I had a few minutes to whip up a card for this weeks Mojo Monday. Here's the sketch.

As you can see I changed up the circle to a pennant and added the sentiment to that. I also rounded the opposite corners.

Sentiment stamp and the big pennant die are from Verve. The smaller pennant die is from MFT. Vintage cream cardstock from PTI is used as the card base and the sentiment panel.  Designer paper is from The Paper Studio. The goal pearls are from the Reflection line at M's.

Hello! I hope this finds everyone doing well and being creative! Today's card is a CAS one with a bit of texture!

Stamps are from Penny Black! I stamped the tulips in Versafine ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder onto vintage creme cardstock. I've gotten so I hate to use memento ink anymore - it just doesn't give the coverage I'm looking for, even after I've re-inked the darn pad! Embossing the Versafine allows me to still color using Copic's.

I used the lattice embossing folder from SU to give this card some texture. The die I used to cut out the tulips is from Papertrey, Ink. I used pink cardstock from HOTP and the green is from Bazzill. the tiny gold pearls came from Michaels reflection line.

Cased

Hi everyone! I cased this card off of a picture on Pinterest. Changed up the stamps and added a sentiment panel, but used the same color combo. You can find the original card from Kitty here.

Background stamp is from The Angel Company and is stamped in Peeled paint distress ink. The leaf stamp is from K&Company called lotus floral stamps and stamped in Forest Moss distress ink. the flower stamp is from Inkadinkado and I used worn lipstick distress marker and misted with watercolor to get the effects.

Sentiment stamp is from Papertrey, Ink. Small self adhesive gold pearls from Reflections were added to both ends of the panel.

Pink Cardstock is from Hot Off The Press and the green is from Gina K Designs. I used antique linen to sponge around the perimeter of the white panel.

Oh Nuts!

Hi everyone! Happy World Card Making Day! Here's another CAS card that can be used for just about anyone.

The acorn die and sentiment stamp is from Lil' Inker Designs. I used cardstock from Hot Off The Press for the body of the acorn and the dark brown back ground. The cardstock for the top of the acorn is from Bazzill.

The designer paper is from Papertrey Ink and I used French Roast ink from A*Muse Studio to sponge around the edges for a distressed look. The same ink was used to stamp the sentiment. Ivory used as the card base. Gold pearls are from Reflections which you can get at Micheal's. Inside the card it says, "I forgot your Birthday."

Hello! Happy first day of fall, er I mean second day. It sure didn't feel like it around here. Very warm, sunny and humid.

So, with that in mind here is a sketch card that I made for SCS and did not post. Stamps are from TAC and colored with Copic markers.

The die is from Verve and I hand cut the layer in back after tracing it onto cardstock. Self adhesive gold pearls are added for some bling.

Greetings! We had a wonderful time camping! I find it totally pathetic that my 5 month old puppy was better behaved than the 8 year old boy camping next to us. Wow! Times sure have changed! If I had said what this kid did to my parents, I would've been blowing bubbles! As in having my mouth washed out with soap! Sure, we sassed our parents but not to the level that kids these days do! Unbelievable!

OK, enough ranting! Here's my latest card.

This is done with one of the smaller flowers from the Year of flowers collection from PTI. I randomly stamped the flower in Fresh snow ink from Palette onto kraft cardstock. The leaves are colored with a Copic marker and then I used pink creme chalk on the flowers. In real life they sparkle a bit! However it didn't photograph real well!

Hounds tooth designer paper is from Making Memories, which is layered with green cardstock from Bazzill. I added four self adhesive gold pearls to the corners to anchor it down. The card actually measures 5 x 5 and I used ivory for the base.

Out on a limb

Hello! Here's a card I completed for the Wednesday sketch challenge over at SCS. This is a great sketch with so many possibilities!


The branch stamp is from Memory Box. I colored it with Marvy Le Plume markers and huffed on it. Loved how it turned out on the ivory cardstock.

The black bird (raven or crow) is cut out from the Martha Stewart bird border punch. I punched a strip out and using sharp pointed scissors cut out two birds. One is directly glued to the paper and the other is popped up with foam tape.

The wood strip on the left side is actually real wood, its Asian cedar that is cut very thin. The green designer paper is hand made Washi paper that I got from a craft show a while ago. Dark brown cardstock is from American Crafts and the gold pearls are from the reflection line from M's.

At the last minute I decided to stamp the inside of the card to continue the theme. Again, it turned out pretty cool! What do you think?

Greetings! I hope everyone is doing well this last week before Christmas. Here's my take on the Mojo Monday sketch this week.

Designer paper is from Tim Holtz Shabby Vintage collection, and layered with brown cardstock. I stamped some PTI fancy flourishes in spun sugar on the lined dp. I really like how subtle it came out. Sentiment and small tulips are from Victorine Originals. Copic markers used to color the tulips.

Self adhesive pearls from Micheal's reflection line are used on the scallops in the circle and in the bottom two corners on the lined dp. Ribbon is satin and the bow is tied with the Bow Easy.

I did things a bit different when creating this card. Usually I pick my stamps first, then go on a search and destroy mission to find just the right designer paper to go with whatever stamps I chose. This time I picked the designer paper first. So much less stressful and came together quickly too! So, how do you go about things? What do you choose first?

TDS Wednesday Sketch Challenge

Hey everyone! Here is this weeks sketch challenge from The Digi Shack.


Here is my take on it!


Image is only one buck over at The Digi Shack which includes the sentiment. The original image is a set of three ties in a row and the Happy Father's Day on top. I did the sentiment as a stand alone and layered the ties on top of each other to use for the back ground on this sketch.

They are colored with Copic and Marvy LePlume markers. I added the tie tac's (mini self adhesive gold pearls) as an after thought and just love how it looks. I also did a bit of color enhancing to the tie panel using a stipple brush and some creamy brown chalk ink.

Happy Tuesday! Here is sketch #164.

This is one of the new images from The Angel Company that will be available on February 1st. She is colored with Copic Markers with the following colors: E00 (skin white), E51 (milky white), R29 (lipstick red), B24 (sky), E08 (brown), Y02 (Canary yellow) and outlined in C1 (cool gray). Blue card stock used for layering is from Bazzill.

The ribbon down the center is a white satin ribbon colored with B24. The new daisy cuttlebug embossing folder from Provo Craft was used for the right hand panel. Fiskers scalloped border punch was used on it and a piece of red card stock. The blue designer paper on the left is a piece I've had in my stash forever and have no clue who makes it. Pearls are from the Reflection line from Micheal's.
