Just Because

Hello. Playing in this weeks Freshly Made Sketch #414. Decided not to make a Holiday card. I mailed out all of mine yesterday, so I'm pretty much done with that. =)

Flower background stamp is from Impression Obsession. I stamped it in versamark onto a piece of watercolor paper, then heat embossed with Ranger White detail embossing powder. I used worn lipstick and scattered straw to create the colored background. I smooched both of them onto my glass mat, spritzed with water and dropped the stamped panel into it.

Added the Fabrika Decoru drops in jasmine to the flower centers. Just because vertical sentiment is from Savvy Stamps. Black strip was glued onto the left side - and this is a top folding card.

Inspiration photo challenge - poinsettias

It’s time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week we were challenged to use the following picture as inspiration.

I really liked the texture on the poinsettias and tried to create that with my die cuts.  I added a lot of pearls to this for more interest as well.

Hello

Hello! Playing in a few challenges today. Started off with the CAS Colours and Sketches sketch and went from there.

No stamping on this card, just a lot of distress coloring of the leaves. I cut four of the hello dies, stacked them three of the them together. The fourth one was heat embossed with black embossing powder to get a shine on it.  Plaid designer paper is from Carta Bella. Leaf dies are dinky dies from Xcut by docrafts.  The Hello and branch dies are from Savvy Stamps.  Below is an up close look at the leaves.

Hello! Here's a card I made today using the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.

Stamp is from Simon Says Stamp and colored with Copic's. Added a few white dots onto the flowers using a jelly white gel pen. Hello die is from Savvy Stamps. I cut it out using black cardstock and then added black embossing powder on top in several layers to create some depth and shine.

Textured thanks

Hi all! Less is more theme this week is to add some texture. Here is what I did with it.

Used some home made texture paste (baby powder, glue, white paint and water) to add the small distressed squares in the background.

Daisy die is from Simon Says Stamp. I cut several out, layered them and then colored the top one with my Zig water color markers with a paint brush and water.

Thanks die is from Savvy stamps and cut out in black and stuck on using some wacky tack, which is a dry adhesive.

Kept it clean and simple with lots of white. I really liked how this turned out.

Nice Hat!

Hi everyone! Here is a clean, simple and quick card for you today.

I got the sentiment stamp at my local stamp store which just happens to be Impress. You can find their web site here and the stamp is from Savvy Stamps. Lots to choose from.

The santa hat is from A*Muse Studio (retired) and colored with the R29 Copic marker.  I added some dimension to his hat with some puffy paint that was heated with the heat gun.

Stitched dies are from My Favorite Things.

Finally, I added three snowflakes on the bottom using the snowflake stubby from Stamps by Judith and white craft paint. I wanted something added to the bottom corner and sequins and/or pearls were just too much.  So went with this subtle route and liked it quite well.

Happy 50th

Hello. This weeks theme over at Less is More is numbers. Here is what I did with it.

I die cut the happy and the 5 and 0 out of gold mirror card stock. I did use some of that stick it! adhesive on the back so that it would be a lot easier to adhere to the card front. That stuff is worth the price!

I stamped the th and anniversary in versamark then heat embossed it with gold embossing powder. Before I stuck the happy and 50 on, I ran this through the spellbinders embossing folder. It's from their Celebra'tions line. The pearl cardstock is from Papertrey, Ink.

Decided to decorate part of the inside and unearthed a very old swirl stamp so that I could add a bit of gold bling to the inside.

Now to finish up my chores and start to put my stamping area in order. It looks like a tornado came through. Thanks for stopping by!

Hello! I've been making cards for the plethora of World Card Making Day challenges that is happening all over blogsville today.  Here is one for CAS(e) this sketch and winnie & walter.

Celebrate sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink and stamped in versamark then heat embossed using gold embossing powder.

The confetti stamp is from savvy stamps. I also stamped it in versamark and heat embossed with gold.

Added it onto a layer of gold metallic cardstock then attached it to a black card base.
  
I like this sketch as it allows for so many CAS possibilities. Winnie & Walter's challenge was to use gold/metallic.

Shiny hello

Hello. Here is my take on the recipe week over at Less is More. They want something shiny and over at Simon Says Stamps, they don't want us to use designer paper. OK, here is what I did with these two challenge.

I used one of the smaller flower stamps from Wplus9 (spring blooms) and stamped it in canary ink from Colorbox. I went back and stamped the centers then cover it all with clear embossing powder and heat set it. Gives it a really nice shine.

The "hello" die is from Savvy Stamps and I cut it out of shiny gold paper. Used the new Stick it! adhesive on the back to get it to stick to the paper.

Added that to a black card base and called it good.

Thanks on burlap

Posting a real quick, clean and simple card today.

Great for a masculine card, but could go either way depending on the situation.

Burlap is from Die Cuts With A View and cut out using the largest fishtail banner die from My Favorite Things. Layered it onto black cardstock, added some thin satin ribbon, tied a bow with the Bow Easy, then added the Thanks.

It's a die from Savvy stamps (I think) and I used the Stick It! brand adhesive behind it so that it would adhere to the burlap without any fuss.

Live life in full bloom

Hi everyone! It's sketch time over at Less is More and here is what I did with it.

I kept this very clean and simple. The flowers and the little dragonfly are from Technique Tuesday. Flowers are colored with Copic's. The little dragonfly is colored using a blue glittered gel pen and the wink of stella clear pen. Thought I'd add a bit of sparkle.

Sentiment is from Savvy Stamps that I recently picked up from my local stamp store.

Yellow gingham bow is tied with the smallest setting on the Bow Easy and stuck on with a glue dot.  The centers of the flowers are tiny self adhesive pearls.

Hi everyone! I've been working on this Christmas tag for a couple of days and finally got it finished to post. I'm still not 100% satisfied with it, but it is what it is.

I saw that there is a mixed media tag challenge being held over at Stamping with Loll and this is what I came up with.

I started off with a chip board tag. Painted it a cream color then added some rock candy distress crackle paint. Once dry, I added some distress spray stain colors and using a paper towel rubbed it into the little cracks. Then added more distress colors around the edges to give it an old country look.

Memory box has this really nice fir tree branch die that includes two sizes that I used in the top left corner. The pine cone is made out of a rolled flower die. I just cut the size down a bit. (this is the part of the tag that I'm not too happy with) Christmas lights were purchased at Hobby Lobby and glued on after adding a bit of wire.

The Joy is a die from Savvy stamps. I cut it out of white cardstock and then sprayed it with antiqued brass spray distress stain. Layered it with a cut out of dark brown so that it would stand out a bit more. Lastly, added the plaid tie and finished it off with a bow using some baker twine.

NBUS challenge #2b

Hello! Here is the other card I made for the never been used schtuff over at djkardkreations! This time I went with a very clean and simple design for Christmas.

Sorry about the darkness of the photo. I tried really hard to get the sparkle to stand out and played around with it forever and finally just went with the one you see here. 

Both the sparkle paper and the die are never before used schtuff.

The sparkle paper is from DCWV called The Twinkle Glints pack. It's a 6x6 pad with yummy glitter paper.

The Joy die is from Savvy stamps. I centered the die onto a piece of white cardstock and saved the O. The white cardstock is 4 x 5.25 and then I just layered it onto the glitter cardstock and then attached it to a card base.  This one could obviously be mass produced very quickly.
