Blog Anniversary and a giveaway

Hi everyone! It's my 10th blogging anniversary and to celebrate I'm doing some blog candy.

I started my blog today 10 years ago and since it's Christmas time, I thought I'd start off with showing you a clean and simple card. Stamp is from Mama Elephant. I stamped it using my Nano and then heat embossed it. I'm loving the fact that this can be mass produced.  However, I generally tend to make different cards for different people on my list.

1000 post and some blog candy!

Hi everyone! I can't believe that this is my 1000 blog post! So, I think it's time to give away some blog candy!

But first, I've designed a sketch to celebrate! Here's the card I made for it.

I used the Wishing you set from Papertrey, Ink. Fresh ink from Impress in limeade and pink lemonade used to stamp the tulips. Sentiment is from Victorine Originals.  Vintage creme cardstock used for the base of the card. The die used is the rounded banner die from My Favorite Things, I also used the fishtail banner to cut out the sentiment.

Designer paper is from A*Muse Studio and the lime green cardstock is from Hot Off The Press. I had these tiny buttons in my eyelet/brad stash and thought they looked super cute on the sentiment panel! They are attached using glue dots.

CAS no layer card (Challenge)

Hello! Have you ever tried to do a clean and simple no layer card? Maybe when you first started stamping right? Here's one I put together recently that I actually like.

All stamps are from The Angel Company. The trees are stamped in Memento onto kraft cardstock and colored with Copic's, then highlighted with a stardust pen. The line at the bottom is stamped in Versamark.

I have some blog candy that I'd like to give away to one lucky winner! All you have to do is make a CAS no layer card and link it below. I will randomly draw one winner on December 15th. All stamps are welcome, but I do have some TAC stuff to give away as well as some miscellaneous embellishments and supplies!

Celebrate Anything!

Hello - happy Wednesday (or Thursday when most of you get this). Thought I'd share a card I did a while ago - and remind everyone that there's still a couple days left to participate in my blog candy sketch challenge! See card sketch #88!

The card starts off with a piece of card stock measuring 12 x 4 and ends up when folded a 4 x 4 pocket card. I'm sure all of you have seen this before, but if not, leave me a comment and I'll get you the instructions.

The designer paper is from DCWV "Once upon a time" pack. The pink card stock is Core'dinations. The black circle is one of those things that came about by mistake. I cut a circle with my nestabilites and it was too big for the project I was working on. So I chose another die and cut it again - wow - that skinny circle looks cool - wonder what I can use it on? You know how it goes...The sentiments and the swirl are from The Angel Company. I used cloudy coral chalk ink from Memories to stamp everything. The ribbon is a close match to the ink and paper, but not perfect! The back side of this card is also covered with the same designer paper, which hides how I attached the ribbon.

I have a funny little story to share - I celebrated my 22 wedding anniversary this past Saturday. My DH gave me one of those funny kind of cards that you can only appreciate when your married as long as we've been! =) I also got him one of those types of cards. You know what he said to me? Get this, and I quote "Why did you buy it?" At first I thought - wow, you don't appreciate my humor and you don't like the card I chose, getting really mad at this point. Then he quickly clarifies....."I look forward to seeing what your going to come up with when you make it yourself." Isn't that sweet? I just had to giggle and give him a big hug!

I also wanted to give a big shout out to these four ladies for participating in my challenge (see above or below for more info) and point you to their creations!

Card Sketch #88 - some blog candy too!

Hello, and happy Labor Day!

Here is card sketch #88 - measuring the normal A2 size.

The challenge for you on this sketch is to NOT use any designer paper, but to create your own!

The stripes are done using a stamp from the set Linear Sentiments from The Angel Company. I used a Le Plume II marker in dusty rose to color the stamp, huffed and carefully lined it up. The same marker is used on the ribbon stamp (also from TAC).

The flowers in the main panel are colored with the same marker, but I did the vase in prisma color pencils and blended it OMS. I added a dot of black glaze gel pen to the centers of the flowers.

Since I just turned over 20,000 hits on my blog and celebrated my birthday, I thought I'd do a little drawing for some blog candy! But - there's a catch! You have to complete the above card sketch, link back to me and leave me a comment here that you did the sketch. I will draw a random winner on Friday, September 12th. Card Sketch #20 and Blog Candy for 5000 hits

Wow, I can't believe I'm close to 5000 hits! So, I'm going to give away some Angel Company stamps and other goodies to one lucky person who leaves a comment on this post. Winner will be randomly drawn on Monday morning.

This card was done with Christmas in mind, since it'll be here before we know it. I dug into my SU Christmas papers for the base of this card. The red side panels were stamped in versamark with the circle sampler from TAC since they were a pretty good match!


The main image of the snowman is an old Gift With Purchase stamp from TAC. I colored it with my prismacolor pencils and OMS. I mounted him up on dimensionals, added a red square and distressed the blue panel. It was a pretty fast card, and the sketch is one that has a lot of possibilities.
