T-Shirt inspiration

Hi everyone! I purchased the T-Shirt below (Christopher and Banks) and love the design so much that it inspired me to CASE it using mixed media on canvas.

The canvas is a thin piece measuring 5 x 7 that I picked up on sale at M's.

I just used regular ink pads to stamp the different designs onto the canvas. The purple dragonfly is heat embossed with clear embossing powder and highlighted with glitter pen and pearls.

I used stamps from the following companies to create this collage:

The Angel Company
Cornish Heritage Farms
Papertrey, Ink
Hot off the Press

The bottom plaid is done using a stencil, black ink pad and a dauber.

Here is the inspiration picture. What do you think, did I get close enough to the original design? I had a lot of fun searching through my stamps for images that were close to the designs on the T-shirt.

Thanks for stopping by!

Mojo344 - Birthday wishes

Hi everyone! Here is my card for this weeks Mojo Monday #344. I'm also playing in the Verve Diva Dare which is to have petals and wings on your card.

All stamps are from Verve. Flowers are colored with Copic markers and then I used the picket fence white distress marker to go over the centers to brighten it up. I like the effect it gave the flowers.

Yes, my butterfly stands out a bit and it's also colored with copics. I fussy cut it out and then added the antena back on using craft wire.

Designer paper is from Fancy Pants and I used some cording to make the flag pole. White and black cardstock is from PTI.

Thanks for stopping by!

LIM170 - just ducky

Hello! Here is my take on the color challenge over at Less is More.

The challenge was to use three colors or three shades of the same color, which I've done both.

Ducks and sentiment came from the now closed There She Goes stamps. I've colored up the fun little guys using shades of yellow Copic markers.

Rectangle nesties used to cut the little darlings out and then layered with black cardstock. The tiny black pearls are from the Reflection line at M's. Orange and yellow cardstock are from Bazzill.

Thanks for stopping in to have a look see - have a wonderful day!

FCC - Chevrons

Hi everyone. Decided to try and play along with the latest Fusion Card Challenge and it was a challenge.

Below is the sketch and the challenge of adding the chevrons into the mix.

I used the chevron designer paper from Bazzill Basics Patterned Paper in Patina and layered it in black. By the way, love my card making mini sized perfect layers for cutting all my layers for my cards! Wonderful size and so easy to use.

The big chevron arrows are a stamp from Hot Off The Press. I stamped them onto white cardstock and then used a Copic marker to color them. They are then popped up using foam tape.

The Hello sentiment is from PTI and I used black pearls from Kaisercraft under the sentiment to add a bit of interest.

I used the latest blue prints die from MFT to cut the main panel. I really like the faux stitching that it cuts around the edges.

That's it for today. Thanks for stopping in!

FM158 - Puhleeze

Hi everyone. Here is my take on the Friday Mashup for this week which is....to create Cards for Kids.. Big or Small.

Super girl image is from My Favorite Things. I had a wonderful time coloring her.

Copic's used:
Hair - YR21, YR24, E37
Skin - E51, E53
Clothes - R29, R89, B34, B37, Y13, Y18
Ground - C000, C1, C3

The sentiment is from Paper Smooches. Fishtail banner dies are from My Favorite Things. Cardstock comes from PTI except for the yellow which is from Bazzill.

Kept this very clean and simple so that the main image takes center stage and that cool sentiment pops.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fab weekend!

FMS134 - sending my love

Good morning and Happy May Day. Where did April go? Wow, the days are just moving way too fast. Here is my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch. Also entering this into the Anything goes challenge at Simon Says Stamps.

I whipped up this clean and simple version within a few minutes last night. First of all, I had the daisy already cut out from the Memory Box die. The yellow cardstock is from Bazzill that I had in my scrap pile that just needed to be cut into a circle.

Stamped the sentiment from Kaisercraft onto the white panel, added the yellow circle and glued the daisies on using dry adhesive. The black and white polka dot strip is fabric tape from the Reflections collection.

I think this card took me about 10 minutes if that and that's because I stamped the sentiment a couple of times to get it right. ;-)

We are forcasted to have a beautiful sunny day here in the Pacific Northwest so I'm heading out to enjoy it. Thanks for stopping by!
