Wishing you comfort

Hi everyone! I had to get lost in some ink tonight to relax after a very busy and stressful week, and it's only Wednesday!!!! Here's what I did with this weeks Mojo Monday sketch #305.

Sentiment is from Verve. I used Rustic cream cardstock from PTI and the blue green paper is from an old cardstock pack I've had forever from Colorbok. Designer paper is from Basic Grey.

Dragonfly die is from Memory Box and it's wings are cut from blue vellum. I did use the old flower embossing folder from Provo Craft on the very back panel but it kind of hidden behind the dp.

I'm also adding this to this weeks Flutter By challenge since it's an open any winged creature week. Which is great cuz I finally get to use a dragonfly!

Thanks for stopping by!

Take note

Hi everyone! Today's post is not a card...can you believe it? I was going through my supplies and came across a package of old Basic Grey undressed chipboard tags, the heavy duty ones. The price tag on them says $5.00, so you know they're old!  I hated to use one (hoarding again) but decided I could trace around it onto create a similar one out of thinner recycled chipboard. Here's what I did with it.

I used some designer paper from Hot Off The Press and covered it front and back. Then I added a block of white Post-it notes with some wide red liner tape, so that it would stick real good.

The "Take Note" stamp and die are from Papertrey, Ink and stamped with Navy ink from A*Muse Studio. I used some foam tape to pop it up on the tag.  Added some light blue rhinestones in the corner for some bling and a blue satin ribbon for the tie.  This now sits proudly on my desk and gets lots of use!

Dragonfly dreams

Hi everyone. Decided to play along with this weeks Mojo Monday sketch a bit late, but at least I got it done!

and...I get to upload it to Flutter by Wednesday's challenge too since they are doing anything with wings this week!

The dragonfly is the newest die from Memory Box. I cut the wings out of light blue vellum and the body out of black cardstock. Decided to use the Swiss dot embossing folder to add some texture to the circle. Sentiment is from Impression Obsession.

Designer paper is from Basic Grey and the light green and purple carstock is from Bazzill. I ran the card base through the linen impression plate (actually the other side) which is from PTI. It's kind of hard to see in this small picture but if you blow it up you'll see the texture.

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping in!

Heard you caught a bug

Hello! Another snow day here in Washington state. Thank goodness I didn't have to go out in it! I started playing around with the Mojo Monday sketch late last night and just now finished taking pictures. Darn battery in the camera went dead! Looks like I need to purchase a back up!

All stamps are from Victorine Originals. Frog is colored with Copic's in G21, 24 and 28. I added a bit of glossy accents to his eyes so that they would bug out (no pun intended) and stickles to the wings of the fly so that they would stand out.

Designer paper is from Basic Grey, Wisteria paper pack. Black and spring green grosgrain ribbon are from RABOM.

We are suppose to get hit with another storm sometime in the wee hours tomorrow! It's predicted that it will drop about of foot of snow! I learned a valuable lesson with this - about a week prior when we had the heavy monsoon type rain all week, I was complaining pretty hard. We rarely get torential down pours, it's just a misty rain. I think Mother Nature is paying us back for my complaining! I'd take rain over this snow any day!

Thanks for stopping in!

Lean on me

Hello! Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their weekend! Here's a card done with the final January Viva la Verve sketch over at SCS.

Stamps are from the Wordy Birds set from Verve and colored with Copic markers in the following colors. B00, B02, YR07. I hand drew in the birds feet so that it appeared that one bird is leaning (or standing) on the other.

Designer paper is from Basic Grey and layered with black cardstock. The scallops on the bottom are cut with the Quikutz cookie cutter die.

I tied the bow with the bow easy, except it wasn't easy! Tied it three times before I was satisfied with how it looked.

I'm going to attempt to de-clutter the crap, I mean craft/office today. It's outta control!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

CAS cards

Hello everyone!

I can't believe that August is here already! Wow, summer is almost gone!

Here are two quick cards I'd like to share with you. This first one is done using TAC stamps.

The green designer paper is from Basic Grey and the blue carstock is from Bazzill. I used a self adhesive pearls from Kaisercraft for the centers of the flowers. The border punch is from EK success. Nothing like a Clean and Simple card to send off to someone to brighten their day!

I really love this bear, full bodied or just his head and you can find him at The Digi Shack! Anyway, colored with Copic's and cut out using the labels 5 die. Kraft, brown cardstock used and the designer paper is from DCWV. I used a Tim Holtz edge die and then sponged some vintage photo distress ink around it. The "hello" is from PTI.

Thanks for dropping by and have a great weekend!

Go on forever!

Hello everyone. Here's a quick wedding card that I put together using a digital image. I colored it with Copic Markers.

The sentiment is from My cute stamps that I found in a local stamp store somewhere. I think the sentiment is so fresh and different that I just had to buy the set.

I paired the light green with a dark blue to match the colors in the designer paper (Basic Grey) and it also had some of the pink that's in the sweet peas.

Labels 4 was used to cut out the sweet peas and then I layered it onto the dark blue using a labels 8 die. The designer paper was also cut out using that die. I added a bit of Palette Jardin Moss ink around the edges using a dauber.

What do you think? Thanks for stopping by!

Blue

Hello! I hope everyone had a great week! I'm so looking forward to this weekend! I named this new card "Blue" - because I was stuck on what to really call it. I would really appreciate some suggestions! I guess I just ran out of creativity when coming up with a name on this one!

Designer paper is from Basic Grey Wisteria paper pad. The Blues within the flowers matched so closely with the Copic marker I picked to color the butterfly. Circle nesties used to cut it out and I popped it up with foam tape on the black scalloped circle.

The big scallops along the bottom are cut out with cookie cutter dies from Quickutz. Blue self adhesive pearls from Kaisercraft added to the give it some bling!

As you can tell, I added a white scalloped liner to the inside of the black card base. I did stamp another butterfly and added a birthday sentiment to the inside, but didn't take a picture for you to see. All stamps are from The Angel Company.

Have a wonderfully creative weekend!

Flowers

Hi everyone! Here's a CAS card that I put together. It does have a few layers, but I kept it pretty simple.

The flower is stamped in Marigold pigment ink from Colorbox. This is one of my all time favorite colors - it's such a happy bright color. Anyway, the scallop border is done with the EK success edge punch. A little white on white there. Once the pigment ink dried I added the self adhesive pearls from Kaisercraft to the centers.

The green designer paper is from Basic Grey and I pulled the yellow card stock out of my PTI stash. Added a bit of grosgrain ribbon on the bottom and then stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment.

All stamps are from The Angel Company.

Have a great Mother's Day weekend!

Hello everyone! Here's a card I did for the SCS Wednesday sketch challenge.

The basket and tulip stamps are from Papetrey Ink and colored with Copic Markers. Bazzill green cardstock was used to layer everything. The designer paper is from Basic Grey - two scoops.

I actually changed out the Birthday sentiment to a thank you and sent this out to my Administrative assistant for being so wonderful! Administrative professionals day is this coming Wednesday.

I really like how this turned out - so springy and colorful. What do you think?

TDS sketch challenge

Hi everyone! Here is this weeks sketch challenge for The Digi Shack.

The mail box image is colored with Copic's.

Sentiment is from Artfull Inkables and the designer papers are from DCWV (brown paper from the Linen Closet stack) and Basic Grey, wisteria paper pad. I just had to add some flower soft to the bush at the base of the mailbox. Here's a close up - it's a mixture of greens - pale, shamrock and Christmas that I mixed up myself.

Nestability ovals and PTI scalloped borders used to create this card.

Make sure you check out all the other Design Team members blogs to see what they created with this sketch.

I'll post another sample of the new images just released tomorrow! Have a great day!

Card sketch #77 - pink orchid

Here's sketch #77 - great for showing off some wonderful coloring and great patterned paper! This measures 5 x 5!

I just got these new stamps from Gina K designs - called Botanical Dreams by Asela Hopkins. They are just a dream to color and offer a lot of possibilities!

I colored the orchid in Copic Ciao Markers and outlined in gray. The back ground paper is from stampin up. The middle layer is basic grey and matted with Bazzill light green, which I distressed with burnt umber ink. I attached the "enjoy" zipper pull (making memories) on the right side as my sentiment.

I hope everyone has a happy and safe 4th of July Holiday with family and friends!

Supplies:
Copic Ciao Markers in: Rv10 pale pink, RV23 pure pink, E33 sand, G24 willow and C1 cool gray.
Paper - Stampin Up, Basic Grey, Bazzill light green and pink
Ink - Palette Noir and Burnt Umber

Card Sketch #48 - cutout criss cross

I really enjoy doing criss cross cards and was playing around and came up with this cut out version. Card dimensions are 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.

I used white cardstock as a starting point and layered on the designer paper. To give it more punch I matted it using the colors that were dominate in the dp. Using your craft knife and a ruler carefully cut out the bottom triangle and then add a coordinating piece of designer paper to the inside of the card.

I stamped the flowers using palette noir and colored them with my Tria alcohol markers. The marker colors were a pretty good match for the colors in the dp. I carefully cut out the flowers, added a white brad for the centers and adhered them with a pop up circle.

Inside, on the designer paper was the perfect spot to stamp the sentiment and I went with it! Simple, short and sweet!

Supplies:
Designer paper - Basic Grey, perhaps
Stamps - The Angel Company
Bazzill olive green and burgandy cardstock
White brads
Palette Noir Ink
Tria alcohol markers
