Birthday fishes

Hello everyone! Sorry to be MIA this last week. I was busy opening a new location and worked double shifts all last week to get it open. Now that it is, it's time to relax and get creative! Here is my take on three different challenges today.

Stamps are from Simon Says Stamp. I stamped the fish in My Favorite Things Hybrid black ink and colored with Copic's. The small gold fish are heat embossed using gold embossing powder. Sorry about the bad pun there!

The water is done using Faber-Castell gelatos with water and a brush. I just scribbled some gelatos on an acrylic block, spritzed it with water and painted it on. I did kind of smear over the lighter colored fish and turned it green so I had to go back and add more yellow.

Adding this into the Less is More one layer challenge of "masculine", Just us Girls trend challenge of using gold and CASology cue card is repeat.

Congratulations

Hi everyone! I've been super busy with the day job and trying to stay cool in this 90 degree weather, that I haven't had a lot of time to create anything. I was bound and determined to do so today after I got some fans circling around in the craft room. I'm playing in the 300th challenge over at Just Us Girls and the word is "congratulations."

Stamps and dies are from Avery Elle. I stamped
them in pink lemonade and limeade from Fresh ink.

The stitched banner comes from My Favorite Things. Kept this one clean and simple, not to mention fast as it's just too hot up here to stay for very long. Upstairs that is. Wonder how much central air conditioning costs and if its worth the money for a few weeks out of the year?

Hello all - here is another sketch challenge that I paired with an inspiration challenge and came up with this.

I was inspired by the photo below for Just us girls. I liked the red gingham picnic table cloth that is stuck in the galvanized bucket.  With the watermelon sticking out it reminded me of all the ants that come with it. Ha Ha.

Ant stamp is from rubber stampede. I did color in the ants using the black Copic marker so that they would show up. The sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink and the red grunge gingham stamp is from My Favorite Things. Sketch is from The Paper Players.

thanks a bunch

Hello everyone.  Here is my take on this weeks Less is More challenge which just so happens to be a sketch.

Stamps and dies are from Clearly Besotted. I used colorbox inks to stamp the flowers and vase with.

The little red bow was once white until I colored the ribbon with lipstick red Copic marker and then tied it with the bow easy. A little dab of glossy accents glued it right where I wanted it. Tiny yellow pearls added for the flower centers.

The flowers and vase are popped up with tiny squares of foam tape and so are the sentiment and main panel. I used linen cardstock from Papertrey, Ink for this sketch.

Obviously, I kept this very clean and simple with lots of white space as per the directions! (grin) and really like how it turned out. Our heat wave is melting us here in the Pacific Northwest. We are so not used to these 90 degree days. Time to turn on all the fans! Thanks for stopping by. 

Ombre birthday

Hi everyone! Here's a quick, clean and simple birthday card that I put together for either a guy or girl.

The cool designer paper is new from Lil Inker Designs. Comes in a 6 x 6 pad that has a rainbow of colors in in. It's a must have!

Sentiment stamp is from My Favorite Things. I stamped it in Versafine ink, which gave it a pretty even coverage on the stamp and I was happy with how it stamped.

Added three different sized black self adhesive pearls from Kaisercraft and then popped the whole panel up on a white card base using foam tape. Quick, clean and simple.

Stencilling

Hi everyone. Less is More and The Friday Mashup are hosting challenges that have to do with stencilling. Here is what I came up with!

The stencil is from Penny Black and I used pan pastels to color it in. Yellow and red are combined to get the bright orange color for the poppies.

Stitched border is done using a Lil Inker Designs die and the "hello" sentiment is from MFT. I die cut the stitches first then placed the stencil over the cardstock and went to town. This is a one layer card and has lots of white space.  This second one, is a bit different.

I used a Memory box die and created my own stencils with a bit of left over acetate. Then I got out some modeling paste and slopped it on some watercolor paper.  Once dried I added color using water color paints. I did stamp the sentiments from Simon Says Stamps prior to adding the blue. I love the texture on this one but it's not my favorite, so I created the top one while I was at it.

ETA: adding this into the AAA Cards challenge of paste and/or stencils.

happy graduation

Hi everyone. It's that time of year for graduation and I really needed a card this time around. Here is what I came up with. I'm also adding this into the ATS challenge blog where they have a CAS challenge going on, and it's their 3rd Birthday.

Stamps are from Papertrey, Ink, it's the Tag-it's #4 set. Navy cardstock and ink incorporated into the card as part of the school colors.

Stitched tag and outline are from Simon Says Stamp and the circle are from Lil Inker Designs.

I unearthed a large white brad from my stash to add to the tag and then I used some white DMC floss to create the tassel.  Which is what took so long on this card. UGH.
