FM150 - Father's day card

Hi everyone. Decided to try my hand at this weeks Friday Mashup. The Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a "Masculine" project.
  2. Create a project with some "Stitching/sewing on it".
  3. or Create a "Masculine project with Stitching on it".

So the masculine I could do and the stitching? Well, I decided to go with some Faux stitching using a stamp.

The old car stamp is from Gray Wolf Graphic's. I stamped it in Versafine and heat embossed it using clear powder. Then colored with Copic's.

Designer paper is from the Pintery collection that I got at Hobby Lobby. Card base is vintage cream cardstock from PTI.

The Father's Day sentiment is from PTI and the stitch stamps is from TAC.  To create the notebook paper I used the border punch from MFT.

I did a lot of distressing on this card using vintage photo and black soot distress inks from Ranger.

I ended up fussy cutting the classic car out and popping it up using foam tape for some added dimension.

That 's about it! Have a great day and thanks for stopping in.

Happiest of birthdays

Hi everyone! It's one layer card time over at Less is More and they want you to use spring flowers. Here's what I did.

Tulip stamps are from Papertrey, Ink set called Wishing you. I stamped the stems in Limeade Fresh Ink and the tulips in Cherry Red Colorbox ink from My favorite Things.

Sentiment is also from PTI but from the Celebrations stamp set.

I almost redid this as I was kinda not liking the tilted tulips, but then thought of how they grow in my yard. They aren't perfect! So I left it.

Thanks for stopping in!

FMS #126 - Pink tulips

Hi everyone! Here's my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch #126. Spring is right around the corner in Seattle! It was partly sunny, blue skies and 60 degrees today! So I decided to make a spring birthday card.

Oh my goodness, I had to play around with this picture 5 different times to get the colors to come out right! I kept getting this bright ugly green color that was no where near what it is in real life. Finally got it! I decided to switch up where the designer paper went - instead of the pink polka dots being on top, I put it under. I know, I'm being a rebel but it looked so much better this way!
Stamps are from Papertrey, Ink. I use fresh ink in pink lemonade and limeade to stamp the stems and tulips. Pink polka dot designer paper is from A*Muse and the green cardstock is from Colorbok that I've had forever!

Here's hoping spring is on it's way where ever you are and thanks for stopping by today!

BDU - thanks

Hi everyone! Wow, what a week so far and thank goodness it's almost over! I wanted to share a card inspired by the military with you today.

I saw this image over at Saturated Canary and fell in love with her. She is colored with Copic's and I attempted to make her pants camouflage or close to it using rubbing alcohol and a blender pen. It came out pretty close.

The back ground is done using a piece of canvas and alcohol inks. I used willow and latte to get as close to the color of BDU's as possible. Now, you're probably wondering what BDU stands for, right? Well, when I first met my DH he was in the Army and he taught me that it is an acronym for Battle Dress Uniform.

This is to thank all the women of our armed forces who are serving our country!  You're awesome!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative day!

CAS 282 -

Hey everyone! Here's my take on the clean and simple sketch #282.

Flower stamp is from Stampin Up! I did use some white embossing powder and heat embossed the flowers to make them stand out a bit.  Sentiment is from Verve.

The tag die is from papertrey, Ink and I added the green bakers twine for the background on the sketch. I did only three though as it looked better than what was called for.

Lastly, I used some foam tape to pop up the tag. I really kind of like how this turned out.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

You're amazing

Hi everyone! Here is the card I put together for the LIM color challenge. The colors are yellow and green.

The flower stamp is from Flourishes and colored with Copic's. Sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink.

White satin ribbon is colored with the same shade of Copic green and tied around the big banner. Banner die is from My Favorite Things.

My last card for LIM didn't have as much white space as they would like; I think this one qualifies. :-)

Thanks for stopping by!

Wishing you

Hi everyone! Happy March - Spring is on its way! Here is a card that I ended up making for three challenges.

CAS-ual Friday's is all about using shades of Gray. The Friday Mashup is Monochromatic and flowers and lastly Simon Says Stamp is anything goes with pearls.

So here is my take on the challenges. Kind of a silver gray wedding card.

Sentiment stamp is from MFT. The flower die is also from MFT and the leaf/fern die is from Poppy Stamps. The top note die is also used. Queen and Co pearls are added to the centers of the flowers for some extra bling.

I had the gray designer paper in my stash and used that on the flowers. Light gray and white cardstock is from PTI and the dark gray is from Hot Off The Press.

Off to get inky! Thanks for stopping by!
