SCS WCMD sketch challenge Poinsettia card

I had so much fun playing around in the craft room yesterday! Here's my take on the SCS world card making day sketch challenge yesterday.As you can see I colored a lot yesterday! =) It was so relaxing to sit down and play! Now I have to clean up and re-organize, as I tore up the craft room in my creative endeavors! LOL! I used Copic Ciao to color, added some yellow stickles in the center of the poinsettia (not sure if I like it or not) and then added red stickles to the berries (which I do like). I have quite a few bottles of stickles and find that I don't use them very often, and if I do, I tend to reach for the red one first. They always seem to glob up on me - therefore if I want to add a bit of sparkle, I always reach for the stardust pen first.

World card making day!

Hello! Today is world card making day and I have plans to spend some serious time in my craft room. Here is a card I just made for one of my co-workers who is due to have a baby at the end of this month. I was going for the classic simple card on this one. Cuttlebug swiss dots folder used on the green card stock. The rectangle is cut out and embossed using nestabilities. I colored the onesie with Copic Ciao Marker and added some stardust gel pen accents on the snaps. It is cut out and popped up with dimensionals. The white grosgrain ribbon is colored with the same color Copic Ciao Marker as the onesie.
Inside the card I carried the swiss dots over and added a folded diaper as a gift card holder. The pattern can be found on Martha Stewarts web site. The safety pin is actually a brad I found at my local Impress Rubber Stamps store. The little one medallion is embossed with silver embossing powder. I punched it out and popped it up with dimensionals.

Card Sketch #94 - It's all about....

Hi everyone! Here's sketch #94 - with Halloween right around the corner - it's all about the candy corn! By the way, where in the world did September go?
I just got my shipment of oval nestabilities in and just had to play around with them! They are awesome - I only have one Marvy oval punch and I just never used it that often. Probably because I had to drag out the oval coluzzle to layer it with and I can never get it to look good. That snip you have to take and then sand down is for the birds!
The sentiment on this is computer generated - I saw a stamp very similar to this, but felt that it was just too expensive to justify using it just once a year. So, I decided I could just print the saying up on my computer - font is CK Chiller and it's printed on white card stock. The candy corn is colored with Copic Ciao Markers.

I hope everyone is having a great week - I'm now in Denver on business! Glad this is the last trip for a while! Getting up at O dark thirty to catch a plane is not fun! ;-0

Card Sketch #93 - golden holiday

Hey everyone! Here's sketch #93 - measuring the normal A2 size.

I found this gold polka dot paper at Joann's the last time they were having a sale on paper. I've had the gold metallic mirror paper, like forevah, and decided to put it to use on this sketch.

I stamped both images in versamark and embossed them with gold embossing powder. Both were cut out and embossed using my nestabilities. I figured out if I add an additional piece of chipboard to my sandwich, I can emboss and cut at the same time. Which saves me the time of getting out my tan mat to run it through the cuttlebug again.

I got home from the airport and found the latest issue of Vamp Stamp News in my mail pile. I had to do a little happy dance - I have two cards published in the October '08 issue. They are on pages 10 and 12.If you follow my blog - you have seen both of these cards before. If not, they are both black and white and you can see them here and here.

Card Sketch #92

Greetings! Here's sketch #92....with two examples to show you! This one measures 4 3/4 x 3 3/4 when finished. A little different and the last example is kind of challenging...Cut your card base at 5 3/4 wide by 4 3/4 tall, score at 2" to make a flap on the left side. Add the circle to the center to complete the sketch.
In this example I used a olive card stock (Bazzill) and added ivory circles, which were cut with my nestabilities. The fern stamp is retired image from The Angel Company. I stamped it in versamark down the right side of the card and embossed with clear embossing powder. I think I just might be addicted to heat embossing!!! LOL - any way, the fern in the center of the circle is stamped with pale olive chalk ink from Memories. The sentiment is from Penny Black Salutations and is stamped in Palette Noir. I added a wide strip of olive grosgrain ribbon down the side.

This next one is a challenge.....getting the acetate to stay folded can be frustrating!

In this next example I added a piece of acetate around the whole card. That allowed me to add some additional layers to the panels.
I chose some fall colored card stock from Bazzill to go with our approaching Autumn season! The pearls are self adhesive and are from Kaiser Craft. The main image in the circle is stamped in the faux embossing technique with Memories chalk ink in washed tan and gauzy beige. I used the same stamp on the two inside panels and heat embossed them with clear EP to make them show up more. Leaf stamp is from TAC's deco designs and the sentiment is Live Inspired, also from TAC.

Hi all - here's a recent card that I created that just begged to be featured on my blog. =) This is done with TAC's Angelee paper collection. I started off with a piece of purple card stock measuring 4 x 12 and folded it so that it has a pocket on the inside. Before gluing it together, I lined it with dp from the collection. Both the front and the back were layered with the muted flower paper and the purple ribbon was inserted prior to gluing them down. The tag on the front is part of the paper collection. I stamped the sentiment on it, added the leaf swirl (from the simply devine set) in versamark, embossed with clear embossing powder and then stapled on the green ribbon.
I used the same leaf swirl and again embossed with clear EP on the circle, added a Thank You and attached to the inside of the card. Both senitments are from the Ordinary Greetings set.
