A really belated WHOO HOO!!!

OK - So I'm really behind the times - and for a very good reason, too!

I just found out that I was published in the Autumn 2007 Take Ten magazine! (Thanks Jenn!) You see, I didn't know - I never got my free copy of the magazine and I by-passed it at J's or M's because when I flipped through it, nothing caught my eye! Now I'm kicking myself!

I ended up emailing Stampington and Company and they sent me out my fee copy! So, WHOO HOO - I'm published on page 127!

So, lesson learned - always look through the magazines on the shelves in detail if you have submitted something to them! The magazine staff is human and sometimes do make mistakes and forget to mail off your free copy! =)

Card Sketch #80 - Imagine

Here's sketch #80! Measuring 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.

OK - this started off as the Gina K sketch challenge (see post below) and I forgot that I had to fold over the lower right hand corner! Well, after a few short four letter words, I stuck it in my stash and figured I'd use it later. Then I got my new TAC stamps and liked the swirl (ya, enough swirls already) and thought I'd get a little creative with them.

I stamped them in light pink chalk ink from Memories - I got the set of four cubes of pinks - love 'em! I did emboss the swirls with clear embossing powder - gave it a little more depth! The Imagine sentiment is stamped in a darker pink included in the set. I used the cube direct to paper to outline the layer.

Then I couldn't find a good match on ribbon in all my stash - getting a little frustrated at this point - So, I thought, let's see how well Copic's will color on this satin ribbon - looking good - a little stiff - let me work it a bit - ok, now to add some eyelets to thread it through! Whaa lah!

Card Sketch #79 - Enjoy

Here's sketch #79 - Simple, but fun to play around with!


I used my Copic Markers to color the image, except for the tiny flowers in the pot - had to revert back to my Marvy LePlume II's for the fine point on the marker. Those flowers are way too small for Copic Ciao's. I punched out some flowers and used the black glaze gel pen for the centers - used it on the small flowers, too!

I added the faux stitching along the top and bottom of the brown layers using a .005 Copic multi liner and a ruler!

Gina K Sketch

Have you seen the sketch over on Gina K's blog? She's going to randomly pick someone to win a cool prize, however you have to use her stamps. Well, you know that I'm hooked on the Botanical dreams set, so I thought I'd whip up a card using her sketch and post it over at SCS and here.


The flower is stamped with Palette Noir and colored with Rose Red (R85) Copic marker. I decided to take the time to cut out the flower - it's actually pretty easy to do, just time consuming. The oval was cut out using my coluzzle - it think it might be time to invest in some oval nestabilities! I used acrylic paint and a tooth brush to splatter paint onto the oval, let dry and popped up the flower. I really like how this turned out! Card sketch #78 - Believe

This one is a little different, with some off center layers and embellishments.





This is another stamp image from A. Hopkins from Gina K Designs, Botanical Dreams! This set is just amazing and so versatile! The leaf is colored with Copic marker in Willow green (G24) and outlined in gray. I used a store bought acetate tag and colored it with my Copic Marker air brush system! I really liked how soft the color turned out!The small square is a piece of cork that came with sticky back on it already that I purchased eon's ago at Michael's. I just punched it out using my small square punch, pealed off the backing and placed it on the card. It's a pretty thin piece of cork but it took some wiggling to get it out of the punch in tact.

Do you know the song by Jimmy Buffett?

Well, that is what came into my mind when I saw this huge statue of this shark in front of The Last Mango in St. Martin. Which is what they intended, I'm sure! The store was all Jimmy Buffett souvenirs! Tons of fun!

We vacationed there in October of 2001 and I'm just now getting around to scrapping these digitally. Glad I have a scanner - because I have no idea where the negatives are for these pictures. I'm also glad for Un-Do as that stuff is wonderful in getting things off - and out of the old scrapbook so that I could scan it! LOL !!! Anyway - thought I'd share my latest creation with you! Another card sketch coming soon!

Card sketch #77 - pink orchid

Here's sketch #77 - great for showing off some wonderful coloring and great patterned paper! This measures 5 x 5!







I just got these new stamps from Gina K designs - called Botanical Dreams by Asela Hopkins. They are just a dream to color and offer a lot of possibilities!

I colored the orchid in Copic Ciao Markers and outlined in gray. The back ground paper is from stampin up. The middle layer is basic grey and matted with Bazzill light green, which I distressed with burnt umber ink. I attached the "enjoy" zipper pull (making memories) on the right side as my sentiment.
