Card Sketch #61 - Party Chic

This sketch measures 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 square. This is a quick one to use for that last minute forgotten birthday card.



When I was browsing through the isles of a Ben Franklin Craft Store a couple of weeks ago, I ran into a table of Studio G clear stamps for $1. This table was LOADED down with the recent sets that were just delivered. I had so much fun digging through those stamp sets to find the ones I liked and thought I'd use. I fell in love with this party chic set on sight.

I colored the image with my Copic Markers, used my marvy mega and giga square punches to cut out the image and it's layer. The sentiment is done using smaller square punches and adhered with foam tape on a diagonal. The swiss dots cutttlebug embossing folder worked really well with the red DCWV cardstock. I like how the white core shows through on it. Grosgrain ribbon in red was added to the top and tied in a knot.

Card Sketch #60 - Delight

Sketch #60 is simple with lots of layering for you to play around with. Sample measures 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.

The background is done with an old BG stamp from The Angel Company called stripes. It's done in gray pigment ink from Colorbox on white card stock. The medium gray cardstock is layered with a darker gray and are both from Bazzill. I had this yummy 5/8 grosgrain ribbon that I added to the corner of the main panel and across the bottom layer, then embellished with light gray brads. I stamped the sentiment in Palette Noir at the bottom of the panel.

The main image is stamped in Palette Noir and I used white Liquid Applique to add dimension to the pussy willows. This is the third and final image that I did with the LA. I did one first without heating the LA up to make it puff....looked OK, but didn't have the WOW factor I was looking for. The next time I added some brown chalk to the puffed up LA to give them a realistic look...they just looked dirty to me, and aren't pussy willows gray in color anyway? So, I ended up leaving them naked. So, how do you think they came out?

Card Sketch #59 - Serendipity

Here's sketch #59! Card measures 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. Feel free to add whatever embellishment you want down the right side!

I finally made a card that isn't white for it's base! The main panel is stamped in Palette French Lilac and then stamped off a couple of times to give it that shadowed effect. I used a dauber and lightly added some ink around the edges to give it a softer look. The edges of the lilac cardstock is distressed with the same ink. The mesh is actually drywall tape - I have a huge roll of this and forget to use it, as it's hidden away in a drawer. Out of sight, out of mind!! Feel free to use designer paper or whatever you want in place of the drywall tape.

As I was making this card up, I decided to go through my scraps that I keep in a basket in my work area. I always thought that I used a lot of purple in my card designs, but no....from sorting them all into color groups, it's a toss up between green and blue. I put all the color groups into file folders and have made a pack with myself not to cut into another full sheet of cardstock until I have gone through all my scraps first! Of course that's a lot easier said than done....=)

Card Sketch #58 - Hello!

Here's card sketch #58 - pretty simple, but can be used for a multitude of different occasions and greetings! Card measures 5 x 5.

As you can see I got out my Copic's to color the main image, again. I used some crystal effects on the blue water to make it look like it actually is water! I added some stardust gel to the center of the flower for some needed bling! The corners on the main panel are cut using the ticket punch and it's mounted on red cardstock. The white brads in the corners add some definition. As you can see, I added some paper piercing to the vertical layers to help define them. Overall, I like this card for it's simplicity and classiness.

SBS1 - Whatever Challenge

Summer - That's the theme! Time for relaxing and having fun at picnics, BBQ's, Camping, etc. I chose to make a card with a picnic theme.

The picture turned out a little blurry, but IRL this is a fun card

Hello everyone - I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

This card is for one of our SBS sisters who just had back surgery. Rhonda, we hope your doing well and back to stamping soon!

I had so much fun creating this card! The bandaid stamp is something I just got and hadn't a chance to use. It colored up great with Copic Ciao E21 - Baby Skin Pink. The swiss dot embossing folder was just the thing to use to go with the bandaids!
