Friday Mashup #156 - Ombre

Hi everyone! I saw the ombre and sketch challenge over at The Friday Mashup and decided to give it a try.  Here is the sketch.

Pretty easy clean and simple sketch and doing something in ombre seemed to work within the sketch.

I already had this image from Gorjuss Urban stamps sitting in my pile waiting to be colored. I used the following Copic markers to color her.

Skin - E00, E51, E53 and E93
Dress and Ombre background - B34, B37
Hair - YR21,YR23, E37

The picture frame die is from Papertrey, Ink. and so is the Happy Birthday sentiment.

I got out my air compressor to air brush on the blues. I really like how it came out.

Added the blue rose that I picked up in the $1 bin at Michael's and tied a length of navy bakers twine to finish off the sketch.

The Gorjuss stamps are just wonderfully packaged and so much fun to color. I found them through a card that was posted on Pinterest.  I linked up this set above.

FMS132 - Fly away with me

Hi everyone! Here is my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch. I also combined this with Simon Says Stamps Wednesday challenge and this week it's Animal Antics.

Butterfly is a die from Memory Box and it's cut out using black and aqua mist cardstock. I ended up using a tiny strip of foam tape to pop it up on the card so it looks like it's in flight.

Sentiment is from PTI and the designer paper is from Bazzill's 6 x 6 patina patterned paper pack.

I have a three day weekend and I think I need to spend sometime cleaning and organizing the office/craft room. I have stuff every where!

Mojo #341 - you are always

Hi all! It's been ages since I participated in the Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I just can't seem to find the time early in the week with having to do my day job. However I carved out an hour today and came up with this.

Stamps are from Powerpoppy called Azalea and colored with Copic's. I colored this up for another sketch challenge and didn't end up using it, so I was able to work it into this week Mojo sketch. I like how it ended up! I added a bit of liquid pearls onto the stamen but then ended up crushing it when I ran it through the cuttlebug.

Designer paper is from the Old World stack from DCWV and the coral cardstock is from PTI that I didn't even know I had. WooHoo it matched wonderfully with the Copic markers I used. Copic marker used to color the satin ribbon to match as well.

Every time I see this sentiment I always think of Willie Nelson and then that song is stuck in my head! Ugh!

A different way

Hi everyone! I made this CAS thank you card a while ago and never got around to posting about it. It was a quick and fun card to make using a technique from Judith over at Stamps for Judith.

I used the dot stubby stamp from SBJ and stamped numerous dots in two different blue inks. You have to remember to twist the stubby a bit each time you stamp so that all the dots are not all globbed together.

The small leaves are from the small shadow hydrangea stamp set from the former TAC company. Sentiment from Verve.

The burlap is from DCWV - I just picked up their 6 x 6 paper pack and love it.

Banner dies are from My Favorite Things. Green and blue cardstock is from Bazzill.

LIM - one layer card

Hi all - here is my take on week 167 less is more one layer card. It's all about shadow stamping this time around.

I've actually have two cards to show but this first one is sorta of my favorite.

Stamp is from Stampendous and it's stamped in Versamark and the heat embossed using clear embossing powder. I then daubered on some white pigment ink and then yellow chalk ink.

I'm not sure what to call the paper that I chose to stamp this on - variegated? I picked it up a while back ago at my LSS and it seemed to fit with this stamp and what I had in mind for the challenge. Sentiment is from Verve.

This one is done using the SU best blossoms leaf stamp. I used MFT ink in gumdrop green to shadow stamp the leaves and then on the sentiment as well. Sentiment is from PTI.

I used some chalk ink in yellow to highlight the leaves and don't know if I like it or not now.

Oh well, there you have it - two very different one layer shadow stamped cards.

FMS131 - May you have enough

Hi everyone! Well, I'm back from my week adventure (all business) in Alaska and I'm glad to be home. That dry cold is brutal to my skin - I can't stop iching!

Here is my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch.

It was kind of rough finding the mojo today and I'm still not real happy with how this turned out. But on to bigger and better things.

Stamps are from the CTMH set called Treasure Life. I used Memento markers to stamp the flowers. Green gingham paper is from A*Muse and the candy dots are from Studio Calico.

Green and yellow cardstock is from Bazzill.

Hi all! Ok, I'm playing around with this one and need some feedback. Here is a die cut from Memory Box that I got a little creative with.

I cut it out of white cardstock then added color to the stems and leaves by using a sponge dauber and green ink. To get the black around the flower I used my black Copic marker.

The petals are cut out of harvest gold cardstock from PTI. Card base is a mid green from Bazzill.

Sentiment is from Verve.

So, opinions please. Do you like it or not?
