Cowboy hats

Hi everyone! Whew! Where did January go? It sure flew by for me! Here's a card I just completed that I thought turned out really cute!

Cowboy stamp is from Victorine Originals and colored with Copic markers. The sentiment is from The Angel Company.

I used the rectangle and long rectangle nesties dies to cut out both the sentiment and the cute little guy. Layered with dark green cardstock from Bazzill.

The swirl of studs is from Prima Marketing. I just cut off a section (it's a self adhesive strip) and laid it down on the card.

The green bandana was actually an ivory colored paisley designer paper and I used Peeled paint distress ink to make it a green to go with my color combo.

What do you think?

Card Sketch Tuesday #143

Happy Tuesday!

Here's Sketch #143 which measures the normal A2 size!

I mixed in a oval with all the rectangles on this sketch!

With the weather starting to change, the leaves beginning to turn, it makes me want to dust off all the fall stamps in my collection.

The mesh (for lack of a better word) under the main panel is actually ribbon that I cut to size and unraveled on the ends. This adds a bit of texture to the card and is fun to work with. The wheat designer paper is from the Harvest & Holiday collection from Debbie Mum. The brown and gold card stock is from American Crafts.

I added a three "studs" to the brown and gold panels, which are from Prima Marketing and self adhesive - I used the smallest one's which are pretty tiny but add more texture and interest to the piece.

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

Card Sketch Tuesday #142

Happy Tuesday! Here is sketch #142 measuring the normal A2 size. Simple layers with a large main panel is the focus on this sketch.

I dug out some of my scraps from the Willoughby and Hemingway Soar With It Collections to build this card.

The peacock is colored directly on the stamp with the following Marvy Le Plume II marker colors: Teal, Peacock Green, Brown, Butterscotch and English Red. Did the ol' huff and puff method and this is what came out.

I added some sparkle to his plumage with a stardust gel pen, but it didn't really show up in the picture above.

I found these really cool self adhesive studs which I put on the corners of the designer papers. Overall, this is a pretty simple card and sketch, however it could be really dressed up with lots of layers and designer papers.

Have a wonderful week!
