Shabby Chic

Hi everyone! I have never tried to do a shabby chic card - you know,  the soft distressed romantic look. I'm more of a clean and simple kind of girl. Well, since Verve Diva Dare is tattered pages this month, I decided to give it a try.

I've got to say that I'm very pleased with how it turned out! Click on the picture to get a better look at the distressing!

Card base is rustic cream cardstock from Papetrey, Ink. I cut another piece and took a pair of scissors to the sides to distress it. The sentiment is from Verve and cut out using their awesome tag die! The soft striped designer paper is from the soft serenity collection from Provo Craft that I got years ago!

The leaves are die cut and then distressed with peel paint distress ink. I also used worn lipstick to dye the seam binding that is attached to the tag. Finally I added a double strand of self adhesive pearls to the bottom to bling it up a bit.

What do you think? I'd love to hear if I did justice to this shabby chic card. Thanks for stopping by!

One of my favorite colour combos: pink and green :) Love the ribbon on the tag and the leaf cluster and lines of pearls. Thanks for joining us for this month's Diva Dare!

Love the shabby chic look you made - I'm not good at shabby chic at all, but this turned out soft and romantic and beautiful.
