Digital "Thinking of you"

Hi everyone! Here's another card made with a digi stamp from The Digi Shack. You can click on the link to the right to take you to the Shack! So see all the awesome images click on Digital Shop tab.

The image is colored with Copic Markers. I used the top note die on the pink designer paper and then sponged some pink grapefruit ink from Versamagic around the edges.

Sentiment is from The Angel Company and cut out to 3/4 of an inch wide and I used the cornice border punch to create the end of the tag. Flowers and buttons are added to anchor it down.

Off Center!

Hello! Here's a quick card I put together playing around with the new stamps and dies from Papertrey Ink.


The stamps are: Butterfly dreams and Turning a new leaf. I stamped the leaf in Versamark on Designer paper from Paper Pizazz and then clear embossed it. I created a mask by cutting out a butterfly with the die and then sponging on Versamagic Mango ink onto the paper. Then the Butterflies are stamped off center in the same ink but with the patterned butterfly stamps.

A few smaller butterflies were punched out using the Martha Stewart punch and I sorta popped their wings up to simulate that they were flying. The sentiment half circle is actually a name plate die from Quikutz - I just tucked most of it under the main panel. The orangy cardstock is called summer sunrise and it's also from PTI. Finally, I added some green gingham ribbon to both corners for a bit of balance.

I needed something spring like today, as I had all I could take with all that snow and cold weather up in Alaska last week! Beautiful, but I'm glad to be home to the warmer weather. =)

Banana Dance!

Hey all! Here's another Digi Shack image - totally fun to color!!!

I kept this one clean and simple and let the image be the spotlight! The designer paper on the left hand side is from DCWV mat pack from a few years ago. Layered everything with black cardstock and tied on a black grosgrain bow to go with the bow tie on the guy banana!

Image is colored with Copic's and glaze gel pens.

Wouldn't this make a cute anniversary card?

Card Sketch Tuesday #170

Greetings all! Here is sketch #170 and measurements are below.

Card base = 4 1/4 x 5 1/2
1 = 4 x 2
2 = 4 x 3 3/4
3 = 4 x 1 1/2

The main flower image is from Victorine Originals. I used markers directly on the stamp and spritzed with water and stamped it on watercolor paper. The sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink.

The designer paper is from Paper Pizazz and you can barely notice the subtle difference between layer 1 and 2 in my card. I found that cool organdy/satin ribbon in my stash that goes well with this color combo IRL. I think purples are so hard to photograph up close. I also got lucky and found some tiny purple rhinestones from Kaiser Craft to put under the sentiment. The Martha Stewart cornice punch was used on the sentiment layer and labels four nestabilites was used to layer, cut and emboss the main stamped image.

I made this yesterday and subconsciously I think I was making it for myself! I have caught a cold (first one in about three years) and I really feel like crud! and to top it off, I'm currently in Alaska on business. I flew out on Monday morning and I bet I'm just miserable in the cold and snow! Can you tell that I have this scheduled to post and I'm typing it early? LOL!

The Digi Shack Spring Blog Hop

Greetings! Well, today is the big day of the re-opening of the Digi Shack and to celebrate, the new Design team is having a spring blog hop!

I'm hosting a color combo challenge and here are your colors: White or ivory is also fine to use in your creation.

Here is my example:

The Cherries are colored with Copic Markers. I used PSE with the digital image to create a row of smaller cherries, printed it on heavy cardstock and then colored it the same way as the bigger image. The scalloped border was cut out using the new small scalloped border die from Papertrey, Ink. Circle nestabilities were used to cut out the larger image and the layer.

The sentiment is from The Angel Company and is stamped in Palette Noir ink right on the red gingham paper which is from My Minds Eye.

Simple Vase sympathy card

Wow, say that title three times fast! What a mouthful! Here's a quick card I made with the new PTI Asian Fusion set.

Vase is stamped in Memento Bamboo leaves and then embossed with clear embossing powder on kraft cardstock. The flower stem is stamped in Versamark then embossed with clear ep as well. Bazzill green cardstock was used to layer and as a back drop to the designer paper (DCWV, Linen closet) that was cut using the labels eight die. Sentiment is from the same set and is stamped in Palette Noir.

I used a Copic marker to color the silk flower, attached a button and used some scrappers floss to add some pizazz!

The back ground of the base of the card was done using one of the border stamps from the same set. I stamped it in Versamagic Wheat and then sponged around the perimeter.

If I was going to do this again, I think I would have used an ivory colored cardstock to stamp the vase on, but the kraft does add something a bit different and unexpected. What do you think?

The cherry image is from The Digi Shack and colored with Copic Markers. I used the top note die from SU to cut out the red cardstock. The scalloped black border was done using the new small scalloped die from Papertrey Ink. (awesome die - need to get the other two now!!)

I added a piece of green gingham ribbon to cover the raw edges of panel #1. The green cardstock is from Bazzill. The black, red and kraft cardstock are all from PTI.


I did color two sets of the cherries and painstakingly cut them out and popped them up with foam tape to create that 3D look. Which you can see in the close up picture above.

I have no idea what inspired me with this sketch - besides the colors. I kind of like how it turned out. What do you think?
