Card Sketch #57 - Bliss

Good morning - here is my latest sketch and card, both measure 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. Copic markers again played into the main panel. I've been playing around with my markers to get the hang of them and I think this image came out pretty good. I'm still playing around with the blender pen. I'm finding that it's making the black ink bleed. The inks I have used are Palette Noir and Stazon. I've used Papertrey ink's white cardstock, and the cheap stuff....still not liking what I'm getting. I'll keep you posted on my findings.



I added all the flower punches once I had finished this card, I felt that it "needed" something more, and it went with the flowers in the watering can! Yellow brads are used in the centers to attach them to the card.

Card Sketch #56 - Thank You!

I just got a set of Copic Ciao markers and was playing around and this is what came of it! I am totally sold on these - as a matter of fact, I held out buying these for a long time. You see, I have a set of Tria alcohol markers and they're OK, but have to say that Copic's are so much better! Now I can't wait to supplement my set of 36 with more colors!!!! This is going to get expensive!!

This card was made using Papertrey patterned paper, ribbon and their new Palette ink in aqua mist.

I got out my sewing machine (again, can you believe it?) and tried the zig zag stitch on the top and bottom of the patterned paper. It's a little un-even on one end, but overall not bad. I like how this one turned out, soft, clean and simple.

Card Sketch #55 - St. Pat's

I thought I'd get in a St. Patrick's day card before all the Easter ones hit. So, here we go with sketch #55. It's your choice what you do with the embellishments on the top right corner



As you can see I decided to use the window word punch and added some brads.

Card measures 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. The clovers are colored with prisma color pencils and blended with OMS. I sponged around the sentiment panel with ink to spice it up a bit. Looking at this picture now, I should've done it around the shamrock panel, too! I added some sparkle to the dots on the clover with my stardust pen.

Card sketch #54 - Blue

Here's my latest sketch!



You know those designer papers that you get free in the Stamper's Sampler magazine? Well, I detached this one a while ago and just now found it again to use! The blue and yellow looked really good together and gave me an idea on how to go about designing this layout!

I started with a white card stock base of 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. The blue cardstock is ran through the new cuttlebug embossing folder called distressed stripes. The free designer paper is cut down to two 1 3/4 x 2 3/8 rectangels and layered with white cs. The top panel measures 1 1/2 x 3 and is also layered with white, and popped up with dimensionals. The two butterflies are colored with prisma color pencils and blended with OMS, then cut out and popped up with foam tape. The blue flowers were added in the top left corner with a yellow brad that matched the whole theme.

New CB embossing folder

I just got my four new cuttlebug embossing folders and made a card with one of them to show you how awesome they are! I'll be playing around with these for awhile! =)

The four that I got were: Alegro, distressed stripes, paisley and swiss dots. Here is the swiss dots one!


I used a white core piece of card stock, ran it through the cuttlebug and then took my sanding block to it. It really made the dot's pop out!

The gerbera daisy is colored with prisma color pencils and then blended with odorless mineral spirits. I used Palette moulin rouge ink to distress the edges of the two panels. The chipboard is painted white and sprayed with a gloss to add a bit of shine. They are both popped up on deminsionals.
