Here we go....


1. If you could have 100.00 worth of scrapbook paper or assorted embellishments, which would you choose? Embellishments! I have a lot of designer paper that I haven't used, so more paper would be too daunting for me to try and use up.

2. If you had to choose between using only stamps or ribbons, which would you choose? Stamps....hands down, no choice for me there.

3. If you knew how to do both awesome cards and layouts but could only do one for a whole year…which would you do? Cards, they're quicker and I tend to spend too much time on layouts and change my mind on them way too frequently mid stream.

4. Would you rather own a scrap booking store or have your own scrapping room at home? I have my own stamping/scraping room already.

5. What is your CURRENT card making or scrapping style? Simple because I like clean lines, however I'm trying to broaden my style with new ideas and designs.

Factoid:
I've been married for 21 years to a wonderful outdoor's man. We love to travel, RV and fish during the summer months, or whenever we can. We are the proud parents of a furry four legged dog (half siberian husky, half golden retriever) named Dylan.

Card Sketch #34 - Cardinal

Here is sketch #34, nice and easy with lots of possibilities!



The main image is colored with prismacolor pencils and blended with baby oil. I tried this technique while I was on the road and couldn't bring my OMS with me. I was actually very pleased with the results. I took some creative license with the image, and made it into a Cardinal. Hopefully it looks like one!

My white card base is covered with paper that is from Paper Pizazz (Christmas 8X8 papers). The main image is matted with red bling and green that matches the plaid. Twine is added in the back ground to match the nature theme of this card. Instead of using black brads in the corner, I added black dots using my gel glaze pen. Basically this was an after thought, since I already had the image popped up and on the card. Thanks for looking and have a great week.

Card Sketch #33 - Snowflake Medley

Card Sketch #33 is all about snowflakes, or shall I say rectangles and diamonds. I repeated the diamond shape from the previous sketch but changed some things around.



I found this really great winter/Christmas paper at the local Ben Franklin store from the Paper Company called Snowflake Stripe and Snowflake Medley, and thought I'd put it to use for this sketch.

The snowflakes are stamped using colorbox ink in Azurite and then embossed with clear embossing powder. Both panels are matted with dark blue card stock from DCWV. I used my cuttlebug snowflake die to cut out the white snowflakes that are attached on the right side of the card. Two of them are attached with some small blue snowflake brads from Making Memories. I also used a white big brad and attached the "Believe" rub on to it, both are from HOTP.

Card Sketch #32

Here is card sketch #32, which has a lot of layers, but is fun to work with. Using some really nice designer paper on the layers really adds interest to this sketch.

I started off with white cardstock as my base. I used the swirls stamp set by stampendous to add the holly swirl background, which was inked up using Palette Jardin Moss. The striped paper is from Impress rubber stamps. I used some gold metalic paper and cut out a square using my marvy giga scalloped punch. Punched out another square and stamped the sentiment on, which is from stampendous. The corner stamps are from the set Curly Q's by Fiskars. Both were stamped in Palette Jardin Moss. I added some green ribbon to finish the card off.

Card Sketch #31 - Tree Silhouettes

Here is card sketch #31.....wow the numbers keep adding up! This is a simple one thats great for it's versatility.



I started off with green cardstock and added some craft cardstock as the top layer. The image is done on white and layered with green CS and red bling by bazzill. The tree silhouette image is from Inkadinkado (called silhouettes) and stamped in colorbox warm green chalk ink. I stamped the image once and then stamped it again, as I did in the previous sketch. I then added some glitter bling to the trees with my stardust pen from Sakura. Can't ya tell I just love this stamp set?!

I stamped the sentiment in the same ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then added ribbon and thought that it needed a little more, so added the bow at the last minute. I also did a little paper piercing in the corners. Overall, I think this card will be great for guy, kind of masculine in it's appearance, except for the bow.

I'm in Richland, Washington for two weeks of training for my new job. I was expecting to see some snow driving over Snoqualamie pass, but nothing yet. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that it stays that way until after I have to drive home! So, as you can tell, I've done up a few sketches and cards to share while I'm away. Stay tuned......

Card Sketch #30 - Silver Shadow

Here is sketch #30!

I found some new stamps from Inkadinkado called silhouettes and had to put them to use for this one.
I used my marvy mega square punch to punch three squares and then rounded the corners. I thought to do something a little different with the squares and taped them together before stamping. I stamped the tree in Palette jardin moss, stamped it off once to create the shadow effect and repeated till I filled all three squares.
I stamped the Holiday sentiment in versamark and embossed with silver ep. I also added a rim of silver embossing around the squares. I added some sparkle to the tree's with my stardust gel pen from Sakura. Silver ribbon finishes off the card.
