Just a note

Hello. I'm playing in the one-layer sketch challenge over at The Paper Players today. It's been ages since I've made a one-layer card.

I ink blended the circle using inks from Simon Says Stamp.  The butterfly is an old wood block stamp from Stamin Up!  The sentiment comes from The Ton, and I used a piercing die from Gina Marie Designs to add some interest around the perimeter of the card.

This card came together quickly. Thanks for stopping in.

A little note - SSC363

Hello. We have a new color inspiration up over at Sunday Stamps.

The sentiment is an old $1 stamp from Studio G.  I used Simon Says Stamp saturated ink to match the colors in the photo below.  The card base is a deep navy blue. The flower stencil is from Gina K Designs.

You got this

Hi....
I decided to play with this week's Freshly Made Sketch differently.  Instead of a flower, you get this dare.

It's a bit in your face with the sentiment, but it inspires you to go ahead, eat the entire double-decker cone!

The embossing folder is from Stampin Up.  The ice cream dies are from Simon Says Stamp, as is the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hello all.  This is your reminder that you still have time to play with our embossing challenge over at The Flower Challenge.

This one uses a cobblestone embossing folder from Darice.  The flower stamp and dies are from Simon Says Stamp and are colored with Copic Markers.

Thanks for dropping by.

Blessed are the curious

Hello.  Today, I'm sharing a mixed-media card that I created a while ago. It goes well with the Just Us Girls Challenge of number(s).

I started out with watercolor paper and used speckled egg ink to color the background.  Then added rice paper from Stamperia. The stamps in the background were randomly done to create interest.  The focal point gears are a die from Memory Box, and the sentiment is a sticker from Tim Holtz.  To finish this, I splattered some gold paint over the top.

Stamps:
Creative Expressions - Sam Poole
Stamperia - Dewdrops, Vicky P
Lesia Zgharda

Thank you - TSOT#672

Hi everyone. We have a new sketch challenge up over at TSOT.  I decided to go with a masculine theme on this one.

The embossing folder is from Tim Holtz. I used metal tape from the hardware store to create the panel using the folder.  I did take a black distress crayon and add some grunge to it.  The designer papers are from MFT stamps.

Here is a close-up of the embossed and distressed panel.

I hope you join us! Below is the sketch

Hello - SSC362

Hi everyone. It's time for a new challenge over at Sunday Stamps.  This time we have a sketch from Melissa to try.

I used an alcohol ink background that I had in my stash to create the card using the sketch.  As you can see, I did some ink lifting, which left those wonderful ghost leaves in the background.  The die cut sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.  Here is the sketch.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hope you're feeling better soon

Hello. I'm playing in the Just Add Ink challenge to choose two.  It's between die cut, flower, and ribbon.  Also adding this to the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge.

The tag is cut from fabric, and I used a purple flower rub-on to decorate it.  I colored the ribbon with a Copic marker to match the colors in the flowers.  The sentiment is from Pretty Pink Posh, and it's stamped in Versafine ink.

Stitch dot rectangle dies are from Jillian Vance Designs.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just a note TFC#103

Hello everyone! We have a new challenge over at The Flower Challenge. We want to see embossing, either heat or dry.

I used an embossing folder from Spellbinders that I've had for a bit but haven't used.

The flower stamp is from Just for Fun. I used Tombow markers to color directly on the stamp and reactivated the ink by huffing on it.  The sentiment is from The Ton.

Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks

Hi everyone. I spent yesterday at the Stamp and Scrapbook Expo and spent way too much money. However, here is one of the stamp and stencil sets I purchased from The Ton.

I used color fuse inks from Brass and Bliss with the stencil first, then stamped over it with the outline stamp.  The thanks sentiment is part of the set.

I'm entering this into the following challenge.
Addicted to CAS - Floral

Thinking of you - TSOT#671

Hello! Here is another sketch challenge for you to play with from Try A Sketch on Tuesday.

I used an old background that I had in my stash.  It appears that I used distress ink in speckled egg and antique linen. The marbled stamp is from Kaisercraft, and it is stamped in Hickory Smoke archival ink. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

I used a deckled tearing ruler from KW-triO to tear the background as per the sketch below.

There are a lot of possibilities with this sketch. Link up here, and thanks for stopping in.

With Sympathy - SSC361

Hello. I'm the hostess for the sketch challenge this time around over at Sunday Stamps. Here is the card that I created first, which inspired the sketch.

The leaf is ink-blended through a stencil using Simon Says Stamps ink.  The sentiment is from My Favorite Things. I kept this clean and simple as sympathy cards sort of need to be that way, in my opinion.    Below is the sketch.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope your inspired by the sketch.

Congrats - TFC#102

Hello. Here is another take on this month's Flower Challenge of adding spots or stripes to your creation.

The flower die is from The Ton, and I used Simon Says Stamp inks to color the paper once cut.  The congrats sentiment is from Studio Calico.  The striped designer paper is from My Favorite Things.

Thanks for stopping in.

Sending paper hugs

Hello. I'm playing in a few challenges with this card today.

I smooched distress oxide and distress ink onto watercolor paper using a piece of acetate to create this dreamy background.  The white heat embossed script stamp is an old one from My Favorite Things.  The sentiment is from Honey Bee stamps.

I splattered some black paint before adding the dragonfly die cuts and their blue vellum shadows. Lastly, I added some dewdrops, which are hard to see unless you enlarge the photo.

This card is for the following challenges:

Happy Birthday - TSOT#670

Hello. Welcome back to another sketch challenge over at Try A Sketch on Tuesday.

The birthday sentiment is from Poppy Stamps. The gear border die is from Memory Box, and I enhanced it using distress inks to resemble rusty and oxidized gears. The stripes on the left side are done using a pin-dot border die—you might need to enlarge the photo to see them.

Link up here! Can't wait to see what you create with this sketch. Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday - SSC360

Welcome to another challenge over at Sunday Stamps. This time around we have a color inspiration board for you.

The sailboat dies are from the former Paper Smooches.  I also used an old Provo Craft embossing folder to create the waves and ink blended over it.  The tiny birthday sentiment is from The Paper Studio.

This is a fun color combo to work with. I can't wait to see what folks come up with. Link up here

You make everything better!

Hello. Playing in a few challenges today with this card. The sketch is from Freshly Made Sketches, and I used the left column down on the tic-tac-toe challenge.  See below.

The tools and the peg board are dies from Taylored Expressions. I added a few bits of duct tape to the board using the small tape dies from Tim Holtz Sizzix vault die set 666876. (It is the set that has the clipboard in it). Silver cardstock from TH used for the tools. I did end up cutting down the peg board a bit to better fit the sketch.

The ruler is from an old set called The Necessities by Limited Edition. I had to stamp it on yellow cardstock to resemble the rulers that used to hang out in my Dad's garage.  The sentiment is from Avery Elle, and I used the small nail die cut (cut off a bit) as an exclamation point.

This could be used as a Father's Day card or a birthday card.
