Sending paper hugs

Hello. I'm playing in a few challenges with this card today.

I smooched distress oxide and distress ink onto watercolor paper using a piece of acetate to create this dreamy background.  The white heat embossed script stamp is an old one from My Favorite Things.  The sentiment is from Honey Bee stamps.

I splattered some black paint before adding the dragonfly die cuts and their blue vellum shadows. Lastly, I added some dewdrops, which are hard to see unless you enlarge the photo.

This card is for the following challenges:

Happy Birthday - TSOT#670

Hello. Welcome back to another sketch challenge over at Try A Sketch on Tuesday.

The birthday sentiment is from Poppy Stamps. The gear border die is from Memory Box, and I enhanced it using distress inks to resemble rusty and oxidized gears. The stripes on the left side are done using a pin-dot border die—you might need to enlarge the photo to see them.

Happy Birthday - SSC360

Welcome to another challenge over at Sunday Stamps. This time around we have a color inspiration board for you.

The sailboat dies are from the former Paper Smooches.  I also used an old Provo Craft embossing folder to create the waves and ink blended over it.  The tiny birthday sentiment is from The Paper Studio.

This is a fun color combo to work with. I can't wait to see what folks come up with. Link up here

You make everything better!

Hello. Playing in a few challenges today with this card. The sketch is from Freshly Made Sketches, and I used the left column down on the tic-tac-toe challenge.  See below.

The tools and the peg board are dies from Taylored Expressions. I added a few bits of duct tape to the board using the small tape dies from Tim Holtz Sizzix vault die set 666876. (It is the set that has the clipboard in it). Silver cardstock from TH used for the tools. I did end up cutting down the peg board a bit to better fit the sketch.

The ruler is from an old set called The Necessities by Limited Edition. I had to stamp it on yellow cardstock to resemble the rulers that used to hang out in my Dad's garage.  The sentiment is from Avery Elle, and I used the small nail die cut (cut off a bit) as an exclamation point.

This could be used as a Father's Day card or a birthday card.

Time to celebrate

Hi all. I'm playing in the Freshly Made Sketch challenge today with this card.

The Roman numeral clock die is from The Frantic Stamper. I did cut it twice and doubled it up for dimension.  The sentiment is from My Favorite Things, and the gingham designer paper is from A Muse Studio.  I cannot for the life of me remember where the medium scalloped border die is from.  I plan on using this as a retirement card, but it could be used for many occasions.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Bee-Day

Hello. I'm playing in the sketch challenge over at The Paper Players today.

I recently picked up a new set of clear stamps at Michaels (their Recollections line) that mostly featured bugs. I was drawn to the bee and dragonfly in the set. Anywho, here is the bee stamped and embossed so that I could color it with Copics. I fussy-cut it out and popped it up on top of the honeycomb with foam tape.

The designer paper is from Moda Scrap, and the sentiment is from Woodware.

Thanks for popping in to take a look.

Thank you very much - SSC359

Hello and welcome. We have a new sketch challenge up over at Sunday Stamps today.  Here is what I did with it.

The flower dies are from The Ton called radiant roses.  I used neenah solar white cardstock to cut the layers out.  Next came some coloring using simon says stamp inks and a blending brush.  The sentiment is also from The Ton.  The background is an unbranded script embossing folder.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sending a little note

Hello. I'm participating in the sketch challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches today. What I had in mind and what I ended up with were very far apart. LOL.

The eucalyptus paper is from Concord & 9th.  I cut apart the distress brick die cut from Picket Fence to work in both squares.  The leaf branch is cut from both black and eucalyptus paper and layered together so it stands out a bit more.  The sentiment is from The Stamp Market, and the small dragonfly is an oldie but goodie from Memory Box.

Thanks for stopping by.

Here is the sketch and you can link up here.

Take care of yourself

Hi all. Playing in the Just Add Ink Swirls challenge today.

I used Tim Holtz's Baroque swirl stamp from Stampers Anonymous to stamp the swirl onto watercolor paper. I really loved how it came out, so I decided to cut it down into sections to fit onto an A2 card.  I used dark navy cardstock to layer the panels.  The sentiment is from Pink and Main.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Easter

Hello. Playing in two clean and simple challenges today with this Easter bunny card.

The Bunny stamp is an old wood block one from Great Impressions.  I stamped it in Versafine, then heat embossed it with clear so that I could color the bunnies with Copics.

The sentiment is from Echo Park. I chopped the card down to 4.25 x 4.25 to accommodate the image and prevent it from getting lost.

Thanks for stopping by.

This is going into the following challenges:

Wishing you the best day TSOT#667

Hello and welcome back to another sketch challenge over at Try A Sketch on Tuesday.

The rainbow, cloud and sun dies are from Reverse Confetti and colored using copics. I used several layers of grass and popped a few of them up with foam tape to give it a bit of dimension. Same with the smaller cloud.

Here is the sketch. Link up here.
