In honor of all the beautiful sun we've been having here in Washington, I thought I'd post a sunflower for the occasion!
I cut out the flower and leaves from the tattered floral die by Tim Holtz using some canvas. I then used some distress dyes to color them up. After they dried, I used more distress inks to grunge them up a bit. The brown button for the center of the flower comes from American Crafts.
Embossing folder is from Darice and the cardstock is sugar cookie from Bazzill. I added the yellow polka dot designer paper since the dots match all of them in the embossing folder. Everything is layered in brown and a length of brown satin ribbon is run down the middle.
Thanks for stopping by! I'm headed out to enjoy the Vitamin D!

Thanks for the sunshine, Laurie! Beautiful card. We are to have rain for days and days and days...bah!
Very pretty and it is bright and cheerful - even if the sun doesn't shine very often. We had 3 days of sun in MO. but once again it is raining, I'm thinking we live in WA. LOL
Love the pretty sunflower, very clever to use a button for its center! Great card!
Bright and cheery card! I enjoyed the sunshine the last 3 days, it won't be back for awhile but love it when its here.
Love that embossed background!! Love the hot spell! But it's now back to the regular weather, cool with moments of sunshine!
I LOVE sunflowers and this is one of the prettiest I've seen. Wonderful card, the dry embossing is perfect for your focal point.
I love the tattered sunflower and leaves. The colors really stand out against the cream background.
Beautiful card, love how you inked the flowers edges to make them pop! Thanks for sharing and being the inspiration on today's sketch!
Congrats on getting picked as a sketch inspiration. :)
The sun has been nice, but I am ready for it to rain again here in SW Washington. :) Found you on the OWH blog. Love the embossing on your card and the bold sunflower. It was fun working with your sketch.
Love the simple elegance of this card. The use of embossing instead of patterned paper makes it very clean. I love the look, everything about it.
