Masculine birthday

Hello. I'm playing in the CAS masculine challenge over at The Paper Players today.

Okay, so this was an experiment on an idea I saw on Instagram from a DT for Altenew. Sorry, I cannot remember who it was, but they used Altenew's new embossing paste on an embossing folder, and it was such a cool technique that I just had to try it. I used a 2D embossing folder from Darice and Simon Hurley's Lunar paste in refined copper.  Put it on thick (next time I do this, even more so) and let it dry overnight.  Then I just carefully peeled it off. I used a thin coat of Mod Podge to glue it to the cardstock.

The sentiment is from Memory Box and I heat embossed it with Copper Penny by Brutus Munroe. Added a few metal gears for interest and to tie it all together.

Thanks for stopping by.

WOW! What an incredibly cool technique this is! Well worth the effort. I really like the steampunk vibe of your folder and the extra cogs and bits that carry on the idea. Thanks so much for joining in with my CAS Masculine challenge this week at The Paper Players.

Oh, Laurie! What an amazing "wow" technique! You have created a fabulous card with it, perfectly clean and simple. The gears enhance the masculine vibe. LOVE it! Thank you for playing with The Paper Players this week!

This is a really fabulous masculine card, Laurie! I too love the Steampunk look but in a CAS format. And I'm going to have to try that technique too - what cool results! Thanks for playing along at the Paper Players this week!
