Blood, sweat and tears

Hi everyone! I have been charged with creating a 35th work anniversary card for one of our Area Vice Presidents. He's a super guy that I thoroughly enjoyed working for in the past and was honored to do this. Well, I ran into some serious Mojo issue when coming up for an idea for the card. Ugh! I ended up with this!

If you paid attention to the title of the blog post, then I hope you get the theme of the card. During his 35 year career, which is still going strong, he has obviously had a lot of moments when he has shed blood, sweat and tears. Specifically in the restaurant business that we are in.

I created the blood drop using barn door distress stain and an eye dropper. The blue is faded jeans distress ink sponged on with the blending tool. To create the tears and sweat drops, I just sprayed some water onto my hand and flicked it on.

The Happy Anniversary sentiment is from Technique Tuesday. I had to search and destroy through my stash of stamps for the "th" and found it in a calendar set from Stampendous.

The big number dies are from My Favorite Things. They are cut out using the MIM camouflage die cuts technique from PTI. I think I added 5 layers of numbers to make this stand out.

So, what do you think? I'm adding this to this weeks SSS "it's a guy thing" challenge. Thanks for stopping by!

I think it is great - again another CAS which is your calling and my inspiration but never seem to achieve the look that I love when I do it. Love the red blood dot.
