Merry Christmas - SSC368

Hello. Welcome back to another sketch challenge over at Sunday Stamps.

The Merry Christmas sentiment is from Michael's brand of wood block stamps. I got it in their Christmas section several years ago. I stamped it in Versamark and heat embossed it with gold to match the strip of gold mirror cardstock on the left.

The sprig die cuts are made from several companies' dies.  Echo Park, Simon Says Stamp, Carta Bella, etc.  I did add some self-adhesive white pearls to resemble berries on the branch.

Thanks for stopping by.

You're one in a melon

Hello.  I'm playing in the Just Us Girls die challenge today.  They are looking for summer things
in your stamps and dies.  Here is what I came up with.

The watermelon stamp and dies are from Sunny Studio. I stamped them in black Versafine ink and then heat embossed, so that I could color them with Copic markers.

The sentiment is from Memory Box.  I dug through all my cardstock and came up with colors that matched the watermelons and used them for layering and the fishtail banners.

The stitched dot dies are from Jillian Vance Designs.

Sending paper hugs

Hello. I'm playing in a few challenges with this card today.

I smooched distress oxide and distress ink onto watercolor paper using a piece of acetate to create this dreamy background.  The white heat embossed script stamp is an old one from My Favorite Things.  The sentiment is from Honey Bee stamps.

I splattered some black paint before adding the dragonfly die cuts and their blue vellum shadows. Lastly, I added some dewdrops, which are hard to see unless you enlarge the photo.

This card is for the following challenges:

Happy Bee-Day

Hello. I'm playing in the sketch challenge over at The Paper Players today.

I recently picked up a new set of clear stamps at Michaels (their Recollections line) that mostly featured bugs. I was drawn to the bee and dragonfly in the set. Anywho, here is the bee stamped and embossed so that I could color it with Copics. I fussy-cut it out and popped it up on top of the honeycomb with foam tape.

The designer paper is from Moda Scrap, and the sentiment is from Woodware.

Thanks for popping in to take a look.

The image is from Impression Obsession, stamped in versafine, heat embossed then colored with Copic markers. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

Mixing it up

Hello. Playing in the Freshly Made Sketch challenge today with a mixed media thanks card.

I cut and inked up some worn and weathered designer paper from creative expressions to go with the sketch. I added a bit of script stamping to the grey panel and decided it needed some heat embossing to stand out a bit more. The "thanks" die is from Spellbinders.

Rub on stitching from 49 and market is used along the left panel and lastly, added a medallion cut out for further interest (TH stamp). Added some black ink splatters, just because I could.

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping in.

Hello and welcome to another sketch challenge at Try a Sketch on Tuesdays.  Here is the card I made and the sketch for you to use.

The flower dies and the polka dot stamps are from Papertrey, Ink.  The sentiment is from Parklane. I used textured teal paper from a very old Hot off the Press paper pack to stamp the sentiment.  The flower centers are self-adhesive matt sprinkles from Doodlebug Designs.

After I foiled the peonies, I colored them with Copic markers. The Birthday sentiment is from Jaded Blossom and heat embossed in gold. I also turned the sketch on its side for a different look.

Take care of yourself - TSOT642

Hello and welcome to another sketch challenge at Try a Sketch on Tuesdays.  Here is the card I made and the sketch for you to use.

The flower die is from Honey Bee and I used SSS pawsitively saturated ink in cheeky, blush, pucker, field, and fairway to color the white card stock.  The sentiment strip is from a stamp set from Pink and Main. I stamped it using Versafine ink and then heat embossed it with clear powder. I used a bit of washi tape for the center stripe.

Sketch:

Winter snowflake mittens

Hi everyone. Playing in the sketch challenge over at The Paper Players today, the sketch is down below.

Do you ever have one of those days where everything is stacked against you when you think you have this fabulous idea for a card?  That was me on this one.  I was bound and determined to use this older mitten stamp and die set from Hero Arts. I was having a difficult time choosing the cardstock colors to match the designer paper from Gina K Designs. Should I go with a light or a dark-colored cardstock? I think I waffled on this three times before landing on the dark color.   I heat-embossed the stamp design using white detail embossing powder onto peacock cardstock from C&9th.

I used an old snowflake embossing folder from Provo Craft for the background.

Time to get it in gear

Hello. Playing in the Freshly Made Sketch challenge today.

The gear stamps are from Hot off the press and the sentiment is from Technique Tuesday. I did heat emboss them using black embossing powder.

The perimeter of the card panel is distressed using Vintage photo distress ink. The outline stitch dot die is from Jillian Vance Designs.  I stuck a panel of fun foam on the back so that it could stand out on the black card base.

This will be used as a masculine birthday card in my stash.

Ho Ho Ho

Hello. Playing in The Paper Players Santa challenge today.

Santa image is from Victorine Originals (no longer in business) and the background is a slimline stencil from Say it with Stamps/Photoplay.  I heat-embossed it in white on red cardstock and thought it looked fun with this Santa image. The Santa is stamped in versafine and then heat embossed in clear.

With Sympathy

Hello. Playing in the Addicted to CAS code word challenge today and that is Sympathy.

The left side vellum panel is done using a Rubbernecker leaf background stamp. I stamped it in white and heat embossed it on one side, then flipped the vellum over and stamped it in dark green ink.  The sentiment is from Altenew.

To get the vellum to stick on the cardstock, I used a micro cot sheet from Simon Says Stamp. Tied on some green grosgrain ribbon and attached this to a dark green card base.

Happy Birthday

Hello.  Playing in two challenges today. Let's start with the how I created my own background, which is the challenge over at Simon Says Stamp. I used #66 blue watercolor from Kuretake and dabbed it across some watercolor paper. Then I scrunched up some saran wrap, covered it and let it dry.  Next I added some splatters and some lines using a gift card, which was inked up with the unchartered mariner distress ink pad.

Birthday sentiment was stamped with versamark and hero arts navy cardstock onto vellum then heat embossed with clear powder. I used detail does from Marker Forte to attach the vellum (highly recommend this stuff - super strong). The dragonfly is from Clearly Besotted and cut from black carstock. The outline is vellum that was colored with an ink pad (I think, it's been in my stash for a while).

I used the sketch from The Paper Players below - which I modified slightly.

Thanks for stopping by.

You're one of a kind

Hello. I'm excited to announce that I have joined the Less is More design team. Here is the current challenge.

Flower stamp is from Reverse Confetti. I stamped it in Sugar pink ink from Fresh Ink, added some highlights with a Copic marker (which you can really see) then let it dry. Added the gold embossing (Hero Arts) for the dot details on the flower petals and the sentiment. Added one center gold pearl and framed it up with gold mirror cardstock.

Check out the rest of the design teams creations here. Less is More
