Polka dots

Hi everyone! Here is my take on the Polka Dot challenge over at Less is More.

The is an old stamp set from the former Angel Company. I stamped it in Fresh ink using the colors Chamomile and Basil. The center is done in brown.

I used my Stampoholic Nano to help me position the stamps. I just love the smaller version of this and use it way more than the original size.

Sentiment is from My Favorite Things as is the die that is the dot border around the white panel. Layered it with some yellow cardstock that matched the ink of the flower and then popped it up onto a white card base using foam squares.

Thanks for stopping in.

Happy bird day

Hi there. Here's my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch.

Stamps are from Technique Tuesday. Birds are colored with Copic's.

Musical notes are also in the set. I stamped them vertically after coloring the cardstock with distress inks.

Yellow dots are homemade using pony beads and melted in the oven. I almost didn't add them on, but thought the card looked a bit empty and needed some bling.

I added the yellow ink (Lawn Fawn, butter) around the squares so that the stood out a bit again the white. I just used a make up sponge to apply it.

That's it for today. Thanks for stopping in.

Hello

Hi everyone! Decided to pair the challenges over at Less is More (what's outside your window) with the challenge over at The Paper Players, CAS celebrate spring. Here is my take on it.

I dug out my old cherry blossom stamp that I've had forever. I actually think this is one of the first stamps I bought when I first started out. It says Delta on the side and I think I bought it at Michael's.

I stamped it in SSS intense black ink and then colored with Copic's.

Sentiment is from Wplus9 and the pink dots are from Doodlebug Designs. Layered this with some light pink cardstock to go with the cherry blossoms and called it good, which left a lot of white space on it.

The trees are just starting to bloom here and look lovely.  Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday wishes

Hi all. Here's another card completed with a challenge in mind. This time it's a color challenge over at Just Us Girls.

Pink, yellow and purple go well with all the spring flowers we're starting to see outside! Oh, by the way, Happy first day of Spring!

I smooched some distress inks onto my craft mat and spritzed it with water then pounced some water color paper into it. Cut out the outline of the rose flower from My Favorite Things, stuck it to the papers after they dried and then cut around them.

I stuck them on the front of the card base with foam squares and then added the leaves behind.  Sentiment is from Wplus9.

Gotta finish up my Cinderella chores now. Thanks for stopping by.

Thank you

Hi everyone, here is my take on the sketch over at CASe this sketch. Went with a very feminine twist this time around.

The sentiment is from My Favorite Things. I stamped it using my Nano several times to get the black the darkest it could be.

The light pink polka dot designer paper is out of my stash so I have no idea who made it.  Colored the lace with the R81 Copic marker. Small scalloped border is from Lifestyle crafts.

Pink rose is from Kaisercraft and the leaves are a punch from Martha Stewart crafts.

Thanks for stopping by.

We're gonna need a bigger.....

Hi all. Here is my DH's 55th Birthday card this year. He's freaking out about his age, so he'll get a kick out of this.

I just love this stamp set from Avery Elle and I just had to get the coordinating dies, which are on order.  I picked this up at a LSS and they didn't have the dies at that time.

The shark is colored with C5, C3, C1 and C000 Copic markers. The inside of his mouth is done in RV0000.

I kept this extremely clean and simple and just added a slate gray cardstock base and popped up the main panel with foam tape.

Inside the card, it says "Cake!" which my DH will get a kick out of.

That's it for now, thanks for stopping by.

Birthday balloon

Hi everyone! Here's my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch and I even paired it this week with a color challenge from Always playing with paper. Gasp! So out of my comfort zone. It took a while for me to make this as I wasn't all that happy with the balloon.

It just looked plain Jane to me, so I added the banners across it. That die is from Memory Box.

The balloon, bow, tie and birthday are all from My Favorite Things blueprints.  The Happy is from Technique Tuesday. I wanted the smaller font that Technique Tuesday has than what was included in the original blueprint collection.

I just realized that I didn't stamp one thing on this card. That has got to be a first for me.

Gotta get back to figuring out a card for the DH's birthday that is right around the corner. I've got a good idea for one but have to play around a bit.  Thanks for stopping in.

Flower shaker card

Hello again. I'm back with a shaker card for the Just Us Girls challenge and I've paired it with the color challenge over at My Favorite Things.

I picked up this cute flower stamp at Ben Franklin's the other day, it was all of $1.49 and made by Imaginisce or American Crafts. Anyway, I stamped it up a couple of times and colored it with some Copic's to match the color challenge. Then I fussy cut them out.

I used the circle stitched die from Lawn Fawn to outline the circle I created to add my shaker stuff to. I just got some of those cool little beads from Queen & Co. and stuck them in there with some tiny seed beads and sequins. Of course I had to spill the sequins all over the place while doing this! UGH!

Sentiment is from My Favorite Things and the grape vine swirl die is from Memory Box.

Thanks for stopping by!

Beautiful

Hello! Here is my take on the one layer challenge over at Less is More. They want the sentiment to be the main focus this time around.

My apologies for the dark photo, it's storming something fierce here and I couldn't get a good photo.

Sentiment is from Art C that I just picked up at Michael's. I stamped it using the Nano twice to get good coverage on the black ink and then at the last minute decided to heat emboss it using clear embossing powder.

Flowers are from Papertrey, Ink. I picked out a few from several different sets and stamped them using the Butter ink from Lawn Fawn.

That's it for today. Thanks for stopping by.

Business

Hi everyone. I saw this sketch over at Always Playing with Paper and decided to give it a whirl.

Stamps are from the new My Favorite Things release. I colored all the icons with Copic markers, then cut them out using square and rectangle stitch dies, which also happen to be from MFT.

The grid paper is layered in dark brown and I used square foam tape to pop up business/office supplies.

I think this turned out to be a fun masculine card. Thanks for stopping in.

Be your own

Hi there. Here is my take on this weeks freshly made sketch.

Stamps are from Papertrey, Ink. Stitched square dies are from My Favorite Things.

Fresh ink used from Impress in basil, sugar and pink lemonade.  Ribbon is from my stash and the dark pink cardstock is from the reflections line from Micheal's. Added a few tiny pearls for the centers of the flowers.

That's it for today. Sorry for the dark photo, it's raining cats and dogs here and a bit gloomy. Thanks for stopping by.

Purple Tulips

Hello! I've had this little tag sitting in my "to make" pile and finally found a sketch it would work with.

Sketch is from CAS on Sunday (see below). I also challenged myself to use some designer paper on this as well. I've got oodles and oodles and really need to use it up or toss.

The tulips are watercolored free hand while I was playing around with a new set. I was a little surprised at how well they turned out. I ended up using a vintage cream cardstock as the base for this card. Close in color but not perfect.

Designer paper is from a pad that I've had a while that I got from Hot Off The Press. Sentiment is from Clearly Besotted. Tag die is from My Favorite Things.

Be original

Hi everyone! It's color week over at Less is More and they want us to use citrus colors. As you can see mine colors are pretty subtle which might be due to the inks used and the smallness of the flowers.

Stamps and dies are from Papertrey, Ink. Two of the flowers are popped up using a tiny square of foam tape. I wanted a bit of dimension for this since the flowers are on the small size.

I used Fresh Ink from Impress and the new Lawn Fawn butter ink to stamp the flowers and leaves before cutting them out using the matching dies.

The little bee is from PTI's latest planner stamps set. I colored it using Copic's and a bit of wink of stella for the wings.

Very clean and simple with lots of white space on this one. I'm also adding this into the word week challenge over at Just Us Girls which is flowers.

Thanks for stopping by!
