Happy 50th to my DH!

Hi everyone! Today is my husband's 50th Birthday and I had to make him a special card. I did stay away from the black balloons and all that stuff. He would've killed me if I had done that for his B-Day dinner last night. LOL!

The inside says = Growing old is mandatory....Growing up is optional. The outside sentiment is computer generated. Stamp and inside sentiment are from Bugaboo Digital Stamps.

Colored with Copic's and his glasses are highlighted with some glossy accents.

The designer paper is from Hot Off The Press and green and navy blue cardstock is from Bazzill. I used the Top note die and nestabilities tag dies to embellish the card. Added some gold self adhesive pearls to the tags.

Thanks for stopping by and be creative today!

Pot of Gold TAC blog hop

Hi everyone! I decided to participate in the TAC Pot of Gold blog hop since I just got some new rubber delivered and wanted to play.

We were to follow these directions:

1. Stitching ~ can be stamped or stitched.
2. A punched item ~ punched with a clever lever or other punching tool.
3. Ribbon!
4. A button AND/OR a bow AND/OR a brad!
5. The color GREEN! (a little or a lot)
6. LAYERS! You must use more than 1 layer of cardstock!

Here is my card.

1. Oops, my stitching is hand drawn, but I still like how it turned out.
2. A punched item - leaves. Check!
3. Ribbon - top right hand corner under the circle and there is the hot pink scrappers floss - wonder if that counts? Check!
4. Button - Check
5. Color green - check, check and check.
6. Layers - Check!

Stamps are from TAC = English Everyday Cuties (sentiment) and the rubber boots are from Girl's Day Out. Which is colored with Copic Ciao Markers.

All paper and stamps are from The Angel company.

Thanks for stopping by and let me know what you think!

PTI March Blog Hop

Hello everyone! It's time for the monthly Blog Hop over at Capture the Moment.

"For the March Blog Hop we are challenging you to use embroidery floss in a fun and inventive way on your project. We look forward to seeing your creations!"

Here is my creation.

I used black DMC thread to stitch around the die cut and for the center of the flower. Yellow thread was used to produce the little flower stitches in the corners.

The flower background is stamped in yellow chalk ink from Studio G. Ribbon dots are colored in using a Copic Marker. The yellow cardstock is from American Crafts, and I did distress the edges of the flower a bit using Ranger Distress ink in scattered straw.

All dies used are from PTI. Stamps are from the sets: Green Thumb and Faux Ribbon.

So, what do you think? Did I use embroidery floss in a fun and inventive way? Thanks for stopping by!

Red Rose

Hello all! I got this stamp from Gray Wolf Graphic's with the purpose of coloring it with Copic's. I really love all the details in the stamp and new it would color up beautifully.

Colored with R27, R29, R39 and the greens are G21 and G24.

Green designer paper is from K&Company that was a left over in my stash of scraps and layered with black. Framed up the rose with a piece of green cardstock from Bazzill and black. Card base is pure poppy cardstock. Sizzix square lattice embossing folder used on the white cardstock.

I did color the rose twice (once for practice) and decided to do a little fussy cutting and pop it up on this one for some dimension. Love the 3D effect. What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by.

Paperwings SPRING blog hop

Hi everyone! A few of the Angels over at Paperwings are participating in a Spring themed blog hop today, since it is the first day of Spring and all. Here is my card!

All stamps and paper are from The Angel Company. Paper is from More Mimi and the flower stamps are from Found Joy. Stems are stamped in Palette Jardin Moss and the flowers are stamped in pink chalk ink. White pearls are used for the flower centers.

I cut the fame out using Spellbinders nestabilities dies, I forget which set of labels this one is. I added the Think Spring (tag tid bits stamp set) tag onto the frame by tying it with pink scrappers floss. The tag was made out of the same paper as the background from the More Mimi collection. The shape on the bottom was done using the cornice border punch from Martha Stewart Crafts. I added a medium eyelet using my crop-o-dile (which hasn't seen a lot of use in a while).

I just realized that the flower stamp set above might be retired. I can't find it in any publication, unless I'm not seeing things right. If any Angel out there knows differently, please leave a comment! :-) So, below is my revised card, using a current stamp set.

Just changed up the main image with the flower from Blossoms and Blessings set. It's colored with Copic markers and highlighted with a stardust yellow pen. The background clouds are done with Summer Sky Memento ink and my cloud brass template.

Here are the Angels who are participating! Please visit their blogs and leave them some "love."

Noah

Here are a few pictures of Noah from yesterday. He's a talker!

Chewing on a fir limb.

In his crate with some of his toys.

At the top of the stairs singing because he wants to come down! No problem going up, but coming down is another story.

Hiding under the wing back chair. This has become his favorite sleeping place.

Last night was an adventure sleeping with him being so vocal about missing his brothers and sisters. Poor little guy!

Chocolate cake

Hello! Tomorrow we get to bring home the new puppy! Which means that you'll be seeing some pictures soon! In the mean time, here is a card to look at.

Cake is a digital stamp from Bugaboo stamps. It's colored with Copic markers. I have a male co-worker who is celebrating a birthday this coming week, who will be the lucky recipient of this card. Not liking the bow, but oh well it on there now. Sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

Will post puppy pictures tomorrow!

Yellow Butterfly

Happy Wednesday or hump day everyone! Here's a card I did for the SCS sketch challenge. Not a lot of stamping on this one!

Sentiment is stamped in Palette Noir and is from Great Greetings from The Angel Company. the designer paper is from Hot Off The Press called "color me" and is the butterfly version in the pack of paper. It's thin white paper with embossed butterflies and then you can use just about any coloring medium to enhance it. I used Studio G yellow chalk ink direct to paper for this.

I cut one of the butterflies out and popped it up using foam tape. To highlight the butterfly I took a sponge dauber and Marigold pigment ink from Colorbox and lightly added it towards the center. The blue cardstock is from Lasting Impressions called Cornflower. Finally, I added some tiny self adhesive pearls to the sentiment panel.

Thanks for stopping in! I hope you have a creative day!

Enjoy the little things

Hi everyone! Quick post today as I'm running a bit behind! This is a card I did for the one of the sketch challenges over at SCS that I never uploaded or posted.

Designer paper is from Kaisercraft, English Rose collection. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. I used ivory cardstock from PTI as the base of this card. Spellbinders tag used to cut out the sentiment panel and I added a gold pearl for some bling.

Scallops cut using the Quickutz cookie cutter die. Lastly, two of the silk flowers have been colored using Copic marers. I really like the darker colored flower, it really gives the flower stack some definition. Gold button is from American Crafts.

Thanks for stopping by and I'd love to hear what you think of this card!

Welcome Baby

Hi everyone! I needed a baby card and looked high and low through my stash of stamps and came up with hardly any. Hmm, might need to see about purchasing a few cute sets just in case.

This stamp is from Hero Arts that I've had forever. It's in a set of four that is boxed up. I stamped the booties in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored them with Copic Markers. The sentiment is from Papertrey ink and stamped in Palette Noir.

Paper is from TAC and I used the medium scalloped die from Quickutz on the bottom. Square scallop die from Spellbinders used to layer the baby booties. Added a bit of pink organza ribbon
and tied it in a bow using the Bow Easy. I did use some pink scrappers floss to tie the ribbon together a bit before adhering the bow.

I ended up trying to keep this as clean and simple as possible because I'm not sure how it will be received. I know Dad better than I do the Mom of the new baby, which is obviously a girl.

Thanks for stopping by and let me know what you think!

Yeah, sure, Whatever!

Hi everyone! Hope you're having a wonderful weekend so far! Here's a card I did for a friend and she's going to love this sentiment - it's so up her alley!

Chicken and the sentiment is from The Angel Company and colored with Copic Markers. I just love the expression on his face!

Designer paper is from My Minds Eye. Sentiment is cut out using a nestabilities die and Satin black ribbon used to tie the bow with the Bow Easy. Added three mini buttons at the last minute for some interest. Which in hindsight are probably too bright!

Off to create in the studio today! This is my only free Saturday for a while. We get the new puppy next week and then it's time to take him through puppy kindergarten, etc. Thanks for stopping by!

Celebrate distressing

Hi everyone! I decided to participate in the Make it Monday challenge #5 over at Capture the Moment. This week it's all about distressed edges. Here's my card.

Kraft, black and creme card stock were the colors I chose to make this masculine card. Images are stamped in Fresh Snow Palette ink. Both the main and side panels edges were distressed using a pair of scissors.

Black grosgrain ribbon and black self adhesive pearls added to dress up the card a bit. Hopefully its not too fussy for a guy! You know how they don't like ribbon! (wink wink)

All stamps are from Papertrey ink. Leaf stem and sentiment are from the Life set and the swirl is from the Mat Stack 1 collection.

Thanks for stopping by!

Thinking of you

Hi everyone. Since this week is a contest week over at the Mojo Monday blog, I just had to play along. Here is my card for this weeks sketch.

Designer paper is from Kaisercraft's English Rose collection, except for the pink polka dots which is from PTI. Bazzill celery green cardstock used for the base of the card and for the scallop circle. Leaf die is from Sizzix and is cut from a dark green piece of cardstock from my stash.

Stamps are from Verve; flowers from Kind words and the sentiment is from the Enjoy set. I stamped the flowers in Chalk inks from Studio G. I really like how soft but solid they turned out. Sometimes it's amazing how well those $1 inks work!

Self adhesive pearls from Kaisercraft used for the flower centers and the corners of the smaller left hand panel. I debated on using one of their new paper blooms on the top right above the circle, but I decided to leave it off as it was a bit too over powering. What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Enjoy

Hey everyone! I just completed this sketch for last weeks Viva La Verve challenge over at SCS. It was a huge challenge for me. I don't normally use this much designer paper or bright colors....

Designer paper is from Lasting Impressions and the bright blue cardstock is from DCWV. The swirl stamp is from set Wonderful News from The Angel Company. I stamped it in Memories Pistachio chalk ink that sort of match the green in the designer paper. The Enjoy sentiment is from Verve. All are heat embossed using clear embossing powder.

Added some black rhinestones from Kaisercraft for some bling!

Isn't this really busy? and bright? Not sure if I like it or not. What do you think?

Thank you - Poppies

Hello everyone! I'm late in posting this Mojo Monday sketch due to my day job, but I finally got it completed and photographed.

The poppy stamp is from American Crafts from the Sentiment set. It's colored with Marvy Le Plume markers and then misted with water to create the watercolored effect. The Thank You sentiment is from Verve.

Polka dot designer paper is from PTI and the red circle paper is from Kaisercraft. The embossing folder is made by Sizzix for SU called square lattice. Martha Stewart border punch used on the pure poppy cardstock.

The stitches were created with black scrappers floss and black grosgrain ribbon used to tie the bow using the Bow Easy.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Chirp, Chirp!

Hello everyone! Here's a card done up with some Studio G $1 stamps. They have some real cute bird themed ones in the stores right now!

Decided to make this one all black and white.

Designer paper is from Making Memories, black and white cardstock is from TAC. I stamped the sentiment in Palette fresh snow ink. Oval nestabilities used to cut out the image.

I really like the clean and simple look of this card - no muss, no fuss, just a birdie hello!

Thanks for stopping by! Remember to embrace imperfection today - after all, it's Art!

Hit the beach

Hi everyone! We've had some very crazy weather here the last week and a half. I'm so ready for some warmth that I decided to create it in a card!

Stamp is from The Angel Company and colored with Copic Markers, gel pens and chalk. The white polka dots on the green board shorts are created with a white sharpie paint pen.

Kraft cardstock is ran through the crimper to create a look of sand. Wishin my toes were digging into some of that soft warm brown stuff right about now!

Short post for today! I've got to run some errands! Thanks for stopping in!
