Recent Digi pages

Hello all! I've been out on a business trip and fell behind on my class and assignments with Jessica Sprague. I'm now taking "Now I'm rockin" and learning so much. Here are two pages that I just got caught up on.


The one above is for my DH - I swear that he has over 100 hats! From down right funky to normal every day baseball hats. What's funny about the whole thing is that he has loads of hair on his head! It's grey though, completely and that's why he keeps it cut short and covered! Paper and elements by Kpertite.





This one is for a challenge called "what makes you happy" - hmm.....that one was easy! Paper and elements by A work in progress by Vicki.

It's in the 90's here in Washington today, which means that summer has finally made it's appearance! However, as it typically does in the northwest, it's suppose to rain over the 4th of July weekend. I'm crossing my fingers that mother nature will change her mind and give us a decent holiday this year! Have a great week everyone!

Card Sketch #76

Here's Sketch #76 - measures a standard A2 size.



The main image is colored with prisma color pencils and OMS. I also outlined the roses with a gray Copic marker. I added the dot's randomly with a .003 Copic marker, I just love the look of this, it just adds something extra. I also decided to ad some paper piercing to the corners - just three of them - I felt it needed a little more interest. All layers are inked around the edges with Palette Noir ink. The stamp is from Penny Black.



This second one is a variation of the sketch. I've been eye balling this orchid stamp from Hero Arts for a while now and finally bit the bullet and bought it. It's colored with Marvy LePlumme II markers - a few huff's later and we got a pretty good image. I will admit it took me about four times doing this image to get it "right!" I used a dauber and Palette Noir ink and lightly shadowed the edges of it. The card base is a light gray. The layer in the back is dark gray and was run through a cuttlebug embossing folder. It's the embossing folder that looks distressed, and I thought it went well with the bamboo stake in the image. To add the ribbon, I punched holes into the right side and tied the organza pink ribbon into a bow.

The Angel Company Fall/Winter 2008 Catalogue

Well, it's finally here! The new Angel Company inspiration book and catalogue for Fall/Winter 2008! There are some really cool new paper packs and new stamps in the catty! Here's a picture of the front!



What's even BETTER is that one of my card submissions was chosen to be published in it!!! My card is on page 59, and used the build a buggie set, trendy greeting and Lilly Anna paper. Here's the card!



I just got home from a three day business trip and saw the Priority Mail envelope on the counter and saw that it was from TAC. I immediately ripped it open, thumbed to the back of the catty (where they publish who made it into the catty) and just let out a whopping scream and started jumping up and down! My DH thought I was nuts! TAC had an open call for designers this time around for the catalogue! It's great to see a lot of the Angels that I blog and RAK with published, too! Congratulations ladies!

Card sketch #75 - shimmery notes

Here's sketch #75 which measures 4 1/4 by 5 1/2.





The green back ground for the leaves is done with a shimmer mist that I made up from a recipe off of SCS technique challenge thread. It's made of 1/4 teaspoon perfect pearls, 1 ounce of water and about 10 drops of reinker. In this case I used Palette Jardin Moss reinker and green perfect pearls. It's really shimmery in real life but you can see some of it in this picture. I sprayed the shimmer mist onto a piece of card stock very heavily and dried it with my heat gun. Then tore the sides off and sprayed the mist again to get the raw edges good and shimmered up!

The leaves are colored with Copic Ciao markers and then cut out and popped up using foam tape. I used the same stamp for the back ground layers. It is stamped with versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder.

I saved the cute safety pin from a piece of clothing I bought and used it on the top left hand corner with a bow made out of hemp.

Card Sketch #74 - Wishes

Here is sketch #74 - standard A2 size. This one is sweet and simple and would work wonderfully with some great designer papers!
I found this awesome stamp store up in Bellingham, Washington. OMG - I walked in and hit the mother load! I'll post pictures below. They must have thousands and thousands of stamps - from every company imaginable.

This new flower stamp from Penny Black is one of the two that I bought. I only spent $20 but could have easily spent hundreds of dollars in that store! Image is colored with Copic markers, and the little dots are colored with a stardust gel pen to make it sparkle. I don't usually use primas (even though I have quite a bit of them) on my cards, but decided to this time around. It sort of went with the theme. Anyway, the green card stock is from Bazzill and the yellow is from Coredinations. The yellow striped DP is from ??? I got it a while back ago from Michael's. The sentiment is from Savvy Stamps.

Do you see that great scalloped border? It's my new Fiskars punch - I haven't seen this before in any store, so when I saw it at my LSS, I snapped it up.

Ok, on to the pictures of this stamp store. It's called Stampadoodle, Inc. and I was truly amazed!

As you can see, row upon row of stamps! I was also blown away by all the card examples on the walls. What a fun store - can you just not image how many hours we could spend gawking in this place? Here's the link to their web site - Link

AC-100 Sparmax Compressor review

If you read my previous post, you know that my DH bought me a compressor to use with my Copic markers. I've been playing around today and thought I'd do a review on the compressor and show you some samples. First of all here's the compressor.

I bought this at COPICmarkerS.com - a period style and the service was great! This is the cheapest place that I found for this brand of compressor. So, for the pro's and con's.

Pro's -

• Small and light weight - 8.4 pounds


• Maintenance free


• Quiet - motor is 1/8 HP


• Long braided hose - almost 10'


• Really powerful for how petite it is - max pressure 80 psi


• No more buying air cans

Here are a few of my samples:

The sky and grass are done with Copic Sketch markers in B00 Frost blue and G07 Nile green. I masked the mountain range when air brushing and used my Picasso stencil for the clouds. The Mountains are colored with Copic Ciao markers in Sand E33 and E30 Bisque. The snow is liquid applique. I stamped the forest of tree's in Palette Jardin Moss. All stamps are from Alota Stamps. This turned out to be my Father's Day card for my Dad this year.

This next example was done using a template. I cut out the star die onto a piece of acetate and air brushed it onto the white scalloped circle. Noticed I used the Copic Ciao marker in Y17. All I did was use a piece of square foam tape to position the marker correctly into the air grip. Sentiment is from The Angel Company.
I used the Copic black multi liner in .003 to add my dots around the star and scalloped edges.

This is going to be one item that I will get a lot of use out of! I think I got a pretty good deal - DH bought this for me so I wouldn't complain about the money he spent on a canoe. Who do you think will get more use out of their new toy? Definitely me! =) You can only use a canoe two, maybe three month's out of the year - I get to play all year long!

Card Sketch #73 - Especially for you!

Here's sketch #73 - measuring 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. I used my Copic Air Brush system (with the air can) to color the right and left sides of the card base in E30 Bisque. The starter air can only lasted about 15 minutes, just enough for me to play around and then finish up this card. So, guess what I convinced my DH to buy me? Yep, that's right, the air compressor! It is so cute - small and so very quiet! It came via FedEx yesterday, so I'll be playing after I post this!
I used my nestabilities dies to cut out the circles. I think I'm about ready to get rid of my Marvy punches - I'm not using them nearly as much since I got my nestabilities! The flowers are stamped in Palette Noir and colored with Copic markers in shades RV21 Light Pink and RV23 Pure Pink. The second, third and fourth circles are popped up using foam tape.

Well, I'm off to play with my compressor! Wish me luck getting the hang of it!

Card Sketch #72

Here's sketch #72 without the sketch - Having technical difficulties! I think you all can figure it out though - It's a pretty simple one!

This is my first sample, and I'm so so with the out come! It's ok, kind of blah and doesn't really float my boat!

The flower is done with markers and the leaves are done with Memories chalk ink. I stamped off the solid leaf first so it would come out a lighter shade of green. Both of these stamps are from The Angel Company and were a limited edition for the month of April. These are smaller versions of a bigger set called Rose Garden. The designer paper along the bottom is also from TAC. I added a strip of grosgrain ribbon down the right hand side and tied a knot around a strip of bright pink that matches the ink on the rose.

This next sample is more to my liking!

The flower is colored with a Copic Marker and then spritzed with rubbing Alcohol to give it a watercolored effect. The designer paper is from Basic Grey and the lime green card stock is from Bazzill. The card base is basic white card stock that I ran throught he swiss dots cuttlebug embossing folder. I covered the piece of chipboard (from TAC) window hardware with the same lime green and backed it with the sentiment stamped in Palette Noir on white CS. Lime green brads attach it on to the card.

Card sketch #71 - Unforgettable

Here's sketch #71. Measures 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 and folds at the top. I found this yummy light turquoise and brown designer paper in the My minds eye slab of paper and thought it would make a great back ground for this card.


I used my mega scalloped punch for the circle and my nestabilities for the straight circle. The flower is stamped in versamark and then embossed with white glacier embossing powder. The sentiment and the layered piece behind it is also cut from a nestabilities die. The sentiment is stamped in Palette burnt umber ink on a piece of the DP. I think it blends in, but works well with this. I popped the circle and the bottom layer up with foam tape, but it's hard to tell in the photo.

Digital pages

Here are a few more digital pages. The first one is from pictures that I took about two years ago from a camping trip on the Hamma Hamma river on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state.

The second one is from a hike we just took yesterday. We didn't intend it to be a three mile hike - we started walking and liked all the wildlife we were seeing and just kept going. This is only a very small sample of the pictures that I took. More pages to come on this one!

Most supplies are coming from Scrapgirls, Jessica Sprague and from Anne at ASB. It's so hard to keep track of what I use when my stash keeps growing and growing. I'll use an element from here, a paper from there, and so on!
