Bundle up!

Hello everyone! Here's a card I just completed for the SCS sketch challenge.


The designer paper is from Memory Box called dewfrost. I ran a piece of blue vellum through the cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder for the bottom portion. Bazzill blue cardstock was used for the base of the card and enchanted evening cardstock (PTI) was used for layering the main stamped image.

The stamp is from The Angel Company set called Winter Flurries. Copic Ciao Markers are used to color the image and a stardust gel pen used to highlight the wind and snow!

Card Sketch Tuesday #152

Happy Tuesday! Here is sketch #152. Card base measures the normal A2 size.

The top panel measures 4 x 3.5 and the sentiment panel measures 4 x 1.5.



I used my oval nestabilities to emboss the top panel. Here's a close up view of the embossing.


This is a very simple sketch that can be mass produced for some Christmas cards. I like this one for it's a little bit country and masculine at the same time.

The black bird is colored with Prismacolored pencils and blended with OMS. I used a black gel pen to emphasize his eye since it got lost in the coloring.

The Christmas sentiment is stamped in versamark and then embossed with clear embossing powder.

Final Halloween card

Ok - Here's my final Halloween card. After looking at the two I have yet to post, one of them really isn't geared toward the holiday. So, here's the only one left. hehe!


This was my first attempt on the tri-fold card. But with all the really cute Halloween designer paper out there - I couldn't resist!

Lime green card stock from DCWV, black card stock from PTI.

Designer paper - KandCompany.

Drippy goo punch. Nesabilities circle and scalloped circles. Copic Markers.

Palette Noir ink.

Halloween card #5

Here's another Halloween card - are you sick of them yet??? Only two more to go after this one! LOL!!!



This is a 5 x 5 square gate fold card. It's tied together in the middle with the orange grosgrain ribbon.

I used a retired SOTM from The Angel Company on the two white squares. The witches hat is colored with prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS. Distressed both the sentiment square and the hat with palette noir ink.

The spider and web are from Inkadinkado and stamped directly onto the designer paper, which is from Debbie Mumm. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Holiday Greetings

Hi all! I wanted to show you the card I made last night for the sketch challenge over at SCS. I've been away on business for well over a week and have not stamped in all that time! Talk about withdrawls.

Cream card stock was used as the base and for the main stamped image. I used Memento rich cocoa and rhubarb stalk inks for the branch. Using a small paint brush and water, I blurred the berries a bit to give it a different look.

The designer paper is from Memory Box called spicedberry and it's layered with dark brown card stock from American Crafts. The ribbon treatment at the bottom is dark brown and a burgandy grosgrain ribbon that I found in my stash that matched pretty well with the paper. Lastly, I added three self adhesive gold pearls. All stamps are from Papertrey Ink.

Card Sketch Tuesday #151

Happy Tuesday! Here is sketch #151, which measures the normal A2 size.

I decided to get a jump on some of my Holiday cards with this sketch.

The two back ground panels are done using versamark ink and faded jeans distress ink from Ranger. I stamped multiple snowflakes on glossy white card stock with versamark and let dry overnight. The next day I rubbed on the faced jeans distress ink with a cotton ball.

The main image snowflake is stamped in starry night Palette ink and then clear embossed. I added a bit of sparkle with a stardust gel pen all over the inside of the snowflake. It didn't really pick up in the photo, but in real life it really sparkles!

Halloween Card #4

NO stamping on this one! Inspiration for this came from a small bean bag toy I say at M's at the end of September. I took a picture of the bean bag on my camera phone, which turned out blurry, but at least it gave me some ideas on how to recreate it!

Card base is 5 x 5 square. The polka dot orange paper is from BoBunny and the lime green card stock is from DCWV. Black card stock is cut willy nilly for Frank's hair and other facial features.

Here are the tools I used to make Frank - the circle punch was used for his eyes, a regular hole punch for his nose and the flower punch for his ears. The stitch template was used with a copic multiliner pen to make his mouth. I added some red self adhesive rhinestones from Kaiser Craft and added it to his eyes.

Frank turned out pretty cute for a card with no stamping on it at all! Thanks for stopping by!

Halloween card #3

Here's another Halloween card! I don't know why I was so inspired to make a bunch of Halloween cards this year - might have been all the decorations I've been seeing in the stores and all the cute paper out now.

The stamp is from The Angel Company and colored with prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS. Martha Stewart's drippy goo border punch was used on the black card stock.

The tag is cut using the medium Nestabilities tag set and tied on with a black leather cord.

I thought that the sentiment (TAC) was kind of tongue in cheek and couldn't resist using it for this card.

Halloween card #2

Hello all! Here's Halloween card #2!

The saying inside the stamp says "Trick or Treat, smell my feet" - remember singing this little ditty during Halloween? I just had to giggle when I saw this set at Michael's. This is from their new Reflections clear stamp line.

Paper is from KandCompany. I used my nesties to cut out the circles and I distressed the bright green scalloped circle with black ink and a dauber. Added some orange grosgrain ribbon and some paper piercing to finish the card off.

Card Sketch Tuesday #150

Happy Tuesday! Here is sketch #150! This one uses a chipboard piece as a frame!

Card base measures 4.25 x 5.5, inside panel 4 x 5.25.

I saved this outline of a flower from a chipboard piece a while ago, thinking it would be fun to use as a frame. A black Copic marker was used to color it - which worked great!

I used the same cream colored card stock to stamp some random flowers and a "hello" saying and cut it to go inside the flower frame.

The ribbon on the side is actually paper! I stamped it using the same color of my flower, cut it out and taped it on the back. Added a few ribbon flags at the top and secured them with black mini brads.

The cream background piece is run through the stylized flowers and swiss dots embossing folders. The mounted onto a black card base. This turned out simple but striking!

Halloween card #1

Halloween is fast approaching and there are so many cute stamps and papers out this year! Here is one of a handful of cards I have to show you!

The designer paper is from K@Company and it pairs so well with TAC's spooktacular bat's!

I colored the moon with Copic Ciao Markers and the bats with prismacolor pencils. Then it's cut out and popped up with foam tape.

Green grosgrain ribbon that matches the paper is added diagonally down the card. The sentiment is stamped in palette noir and then cut out using the tag die from spellbinders. I got lucky and found two lime green mini brads in my stash to attach the tag!

Card Sketch Tuesday #149

Greetings! Here is card sketch #149 and can you say "easy peasy???" This one really is!


Measurements are: Card base - 4.25 x 5.5
Back panel - 3.75 x 3.75 Main panel - 2.75 x 4



This card came about from my stash pile. I always have images stamped that I throw into a container on my work space - at the time that I stamp them I have an idea of what I'm going to do with it, but for one reason or another, it never works out. That stash pile tends to multiply if I'm not careful. I decided to sort through it and find inspiration for this weeks sketch. Both of these panels were done previously and all I had to do was layer them and assemble the card.

The stamp is from Inkadinkado and is stamped with markers. The sanded background stamp is done with Versamagic chalk ink in Night Sky. I decided to use a swiss dot satin pink ribbon to tie around the bottom of the main image to match the pink in the flowers. To add a bit of interest, I added some self adhesive blue pearls to the four corners of the sanded back ground.

World Card Making Day Card

Hi everyone! I hope you had a chance to make a card for WCMD and maybe even participated in a few challenges. I know I did! What fun!

Here's one of the cards I did!

The gerbera daisy is colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS. I used the lattice MS punch and threaded some tiny white satin ribbon through the openings. I didn't have the right color of ribbon and used a Copic Ciao Marker to color it that matches the daisy.

I also got out my scor-pal and scored some lines around the perimeter of the red designer paper. It really finished this piece off. At the last minute I decided to use the southwest corner punch on the main panel - luckily I was able to get the corners up enough after being taped down, in order to do that! Why do we always think of things after the fact???
