Always be you

Hello everyone! I combined a couple of challenges in this one card and love how it turned out!

All stamps are from Simon Says Stamps.

Sketch is from this weeks Freshly Made Sketches #138. I used one of the dies from MFT die-namic blueprints #14 to cut the rounded rectangle. I did pop this up using foam tape.

Pure Poppy cardstock from PTI was used for the base of the card. Gingham ribbon is from my stash as is the red brad.

Wild cherry and gumdrop green pigment inks from MFT were used to stamp the flowers and stems.

Peony birthday card

Good morning! Happy Memorial Day. As I sat here typing up the title to this post, I decided not to address the two challenges in the title as it looked a bit funny.  Might as well just keep it simple!

The peony stamp is from Papertrey, Ink. I stamped it in pink lemonade from Fresh Ink and then followed with the outline of black. I of course had to stamp this a couple of times to get it to line up. Sentiment is also from PTI.

Black pearls are from Queen & Co. The embossing folder I used on the pink carstock is new to me and is from Paper Wishes. The pink cardstock is also from HOTP or paper wishes.

I used rustic white cardstock from PTI for this card instead of the normal white. It's nice to see bits of flecks and fibers woven into the paper.

This is going into the following challenges:
The Paper Players - Sketch Challenge
Addicted to CAS - texture

LIM#173 - Happy wedding day

Hi everyone! Here is my take on this weeks Less is More challenge, which is die cuts.

Sorry for the dark picture, it's a bit early and still cloudy out.

Die cuts are done using three different dies from A cut Above Dee's Distinctively dies. The pink paper is from Lasting Impressions on the green is from Bazzill. I added a bit of highlighting on both using Copic markers.

Sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink.

I was actually playing around with this, putting leaves and petals here and there to see if I could make it work. It's a little lopsided, but it'll do. I did pop up a couple of the leaves and petals to give it more of a 3D look. That bottom right leaf is driving me nuts, I think I'll re-work it to see if I can improve upon it.

FMS137 - Happy 4th

Hi everyone! Here is my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch.

The sentiment is an old one from the former Angel Company. I stamped it in versamark and then used white embossing powder to heat emboss.

Designer paper is from the Trend Setter pack from Fancy Pants designs. Stars are cut from a die. I popped the blue one up with foam tape just to set it off a bit.

That is it for today. Off to purchase some annuals to plant in the flower boxes. Going to get dirty today, instead of inky!

Thanks for stopping in!

Mojo #346 - you're on my mind

Hi everyone! I found time yesterday to make a card with the recent Mojo Monday sketch.

I had already colored this fun image from Stamping Bella with Copic's and it has been sitting in my "to make" pile for a while. So I put her to use with this weeks sketch.

Sentiment is from Verve and I used the mini flowers from the Tag-its #5 set from PTI to create the flowers on the fishtail banners. Memento markers used to color the flower stamps.

Polka dot basic's used on the navy panel with white craft ink.

That's it for today. Thanks for stopping in.

LIM #172 theme - flowers

Hi everyone! Up with the birds on this fine Sunday and had a chance to whip up a card for this weeks flower theme challenge over at Less is more.

Flower stamp is a two step set from Rubberneckers. I used distress markers and spritzed with water to get the water color effect. Sentiment is from Verve.

I just picked up this wonderful burlap border die from Cherry Lynn Designs. It reminds me more of magic mesh than burlap though. I cut it out of white cardstock and then used scattered straw distress dye to color it. To get it to stick I used dry adhesive called wacky tack from K&Company. I think I'll try using a glue stick next time so that it will adhere better.

Well, I'm off to hop around some blogs to see what everyone else has been creating. Have a creative day and thanks for stopping in!

ETA: Just saw that the Paper Players have a CAS flower challenge as well - so added this to it.

FM #160 - chicken soup

Hi all! Here is my take on this week's Friday Mashup! Sketch is below and the theme this week was get well.

The chicken in the pot stamp is from Raisin boat and is colored with Copic's. Rectangle nestie used to cut him out. Sentiment is from Verve.

The chicken wire is from the barnyard boarders set from PTI. I used silver ink from Colorbox to stamp it on white cardstock and I love how it turned out.

Red gingham paper was from A*Muse, which I don't think they carry any longer. All panels layered in black using the mini perfect layers tool.

That's it for today! Thanks for stopping by!

FMS136 - you came, you sawed

Hey everyone! Here is my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch and I've also paired it with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of die crazy.

Stamps and dies are "all the fixings" from Taylored Expressions.

I cut out the peg board using kraft cardstock and used foam tape to attached it to the card base. The silver pearls are from Michael's reflections collection an are self adhesive.

I cut the saw and the bold out using silver foil paper. You can actually see a reflection of my fingers in the saw in the picture of the card. Too funny!

I used real cork and real wood for the two pieces under the circle sentiment.

Love this new set from Taylor Expressions because it gives me a few more options when making masculine cards.

CAS just because

Hello everyone! Here is a very clean and simple card for you today that can be whipped up in no time!

and used for any occasion. The die is from Simon Says Stamps called tiny tags. I just cut them out of heavy white cardstock and stuck them onto a layer of kraft. I wrapped the twine around a couple of times before making the bow.

Sentiment is from Verve and heat embossed using white embossing powder.

I just love this die set and the stamps that coordinate with it. It's very versatile.

Well I'm off to see the wizard - just joking. Off to work. Thanks for stopping by!

Fusion - Be Happy

Hi everyone. This week's Fusion challenge intrigued me so I thought I'd give it a try. I absolutely love the color combo of yellow, black and white and play with it often. Here is what I did with it this time around.

The daisy is a die from Memory Box. I cut it out of white cardstock and then used Copic markers to color it. Centers are white sprinkles from Doodlebug designs that I colored black using the black Copic marker.

Houndstooth stamp is from Papertrey, Ink as is the label die I used to put the daisy on. Sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

I cut a few fishtail banners out using white cardstock then ran them through the daisy embossing folder from Provo craft. Love the texture it adds to the card. Yellow cardstock is from DCWV.

I followed the sketch except changed out the oval since the card in my last post is a very similar to this one.  Here's the inspiration photo.

FMS135 - spring thank you

Hello! Here is my take on this week's Freshly Made Sketch. I've also added in the Spring Flowers challenge over at Simon Says Stamps.

I think my head or body was slightly tilted when I took
the picture of this card.

Sentiment is from Flourishes. Oval nesties used to cut it out and the yellow layer behind.

I used the fresh daisy die from Simon Says Stamp to create the flowers. I cut them out several times using light yellow cardstock and doubled them up using tiny foam tape. I did add a bit of ink to the edges to highlight them a bit. The leaf die is from Memory Box.

Designer paper has been in my stash for at least 10 years and I have no idea who makes it. It's a 6 x 6 pad that I've had stuck together with a binder clip because I lost the cover to it.  Does that ever happen to you? I think I need to clean out my designer paper cupboard, or at least organize it a bit.

ETA: just saw that the challenge over at Addicted to CAS is off the edge and since I'm off the edge on the leaf...

Thanks for stopping by!
