This is my version of the bleaching technique, since after three unsuccessful tries, I gave up using bleach. White unicorn ink to the rescue. Butterfly stamp is from Megenta. Sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.

Hello. Playing in the Freshly Made Sketch challenge #451 today.

Leaf stamp is from The Stampin' Place and I stamped it randomly in Jardin Moss onto Neenah solar white cardstock. Cut it up and layered in in dark green. 

The butterfly is from Magenta. I stamped it in versafine ink, heat embossed with clear powder then colored with copics. I fussy cut it out, put tiny foam squares on the back and bent the wings so that it looks like it's flying. I added some wire antenna as I cut the original ones off when fussy cutting.  Added the thanks in the same green cardstock (stacked 3x) and then added some gloss to it. Pierced panel in the background is from The Stamp Market.

Watercolor thanks

Hello all. Playing in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge today. The challenge is thank you/thanksgiving.

Decided to do some water coloring using this background stamp from Magenta.

I stamped it in versamark then heat set with white embossing powder. Used my Arteza watercolor pens along with a water brush  to color the flowers and back ground.

Thanks die is cut out several times using black cardstock and stacked together. Used a pierced square die to cut it out and added it to a black square card base. I like how the black makes the colors pop even more.

Faux Cloisonné butterflies

Hi everyone! Here is my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch. I just got this magazine from Boden in the mail. I've never ordered from them but like to see what kind of textures they have within their pages. This dress really caught my eye and it made me realize that I haven't done anything with the faux cloisonne technique in ages. Here's what came of it.

Butterfly stamp is from Magenta. I stamped it over the catty using Versamark and then decided to go with silver embossing powder instead of the normal gold. I like how it turned out.

I stamped the butterfly again on the blueberry cardstock so that the antenna was present and heat embossed them too.  Sentiment is from My Favorite Things, which I thought worked well with the butterfly theme.

Below is the catty page and how I stamped and embossed the butterflies before fussy cutting them out.

I did use some mini foam tape pieces to pop up the butterflies and the sentiment panel. Overall, really liked how this turned out. Thoughts? Thanks for stopping by!

Flutterby challenge card

Hi there! I had fun trying to come with a card using the colors black, purple, orange and green for this weeks Flutterby challenge. Here's my result.

Butterfly stamp is from Magenta and is colored with Copics in the following colors: V12, V15 and V17.

I cut it out using a rectangle die and layered it with the lattice rectangle from Spellbinders. Argyle purple designer paper is K&Company and the green cardstock is from Hot Off The Press. The hello stamp is from Tag Tid Bits from TAC. I used a border punch to make the design on the tag and added three orange brads.

On another note - I hate my corner rounders with a passion. They never seem to cut clean, you know what I mean? Does anyone have a favorite that you would recommend?

Butterfly in flight

Hey everyone! Here's a card I completed (late, but it's done) for the Flutter by Wednesday challenge. This one was a sketch challenge, which was fun to work with!

The butterfly stamp is from Magenta and colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS. I cut it out and popped it up using some small squares of foam tape. The wings are slightly bent to look like it's in flight. I doubt you can tell in the photo, but it looks great IRL.

That yummy designer paper is from Washi Accents that I bought in a big sheet at a stamp show this past year. It's double sided and worked really well for this card....I've been hoarding it forever!

Card Sketch Tuesday #129

Happy Tuesday! Here is sketch #129! Measures the normal A2 size.

Thought I would do something a bit different this week! I don't usually go for inchies - as I get frustrated trying to get them spaced perfectly! But this one turned out ok!

This was done with outline stickers from Magenta. I placed them on the designer paper and then used a punch. You have to punch quickly and with a bit of force so that the stickers don't get caught up in the punch! After punching them out, I placed them randomly on the black panel, trying to get them as evenly spaced as possible. I also added a border on the right side using the same stickers from the set. Visually and in real life, this looks pretty cool. Not only that, it can be done real quick like!
