Just because

Hello everyone! I'm so happy to be home from my business trip to San Diego! It was beautiful but didn't see a lot since I was in meetings for 9 hours a day! Glad to be able to get back into the craft room and get inky today!

This card is for three challenges. The sketch is from FMS#153, the leaves are for The Friday Mashup #177 (sketch is pretty close too) and lastly CAS-ology cue card is three.

Leaves are die cut and stamped using Papertrey, Ink leaf prints dies and stamps. Sentiment is also from PTI using the simple sentiments set.

Inks are from Colorbox petal chalk inks in earths and regal from SU.

Burlap paper is from DCWV and cut using the scalloped die from spellbinders nesties. I had to run it through the cuttlebug a few times to get it to cut completely.

I used the biggest rectangle stitched die from Lil' Inkers to and my tan embossing mat to do the stitching between the sentiment.

Well, that is it for today! Thanks for stopping by! I'm off to enjoy the 80+ degree weather we are having today!

Nuts

Hi everyone! Less is more's theme this week is Animals! Here is what I did with it!

Mr. Squirrel is from an old set by the former Angel Company. He's colored with Copic's and then cut out using the square nesties. Dark brown cardstock is layered behind.

Below is the inside of the card. I ended up using Prismacolor pencils and blending with OMS on the acorns so that it wouldn't bleed through on the back of the card.

Kept this one super clean and simple so that it could be used for a guy or either way, I guess.

That's all for today! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday to a wonderful friend

Hey everyone! Here's my take on the latest Fusion card challenge which is teaming up with CAS(e) this sketch this week.

Butterfly die is from Memory Box and I cut it out using a piece of mirror like gold cardstock. It is also popped up on the card using foam tape.

The designer paper is from Hot Off The Press and is the color me 12 x 12 paper in gold. I used a Prima chalk ink pad in pastel blue to color the paper. I layered it using dark blue cardstock from Bazzill.

Sentiment is from My Favorite Things and is stamped in versamark then heat embossed using gold embossing powder. It's kind of hard to tell in the picture though.

I'm also entering this into Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of "you gotta have friends."

Thanks for stopping by!

LIM#173 - Happy wedding day

Hi everyone! Here is my take on this weeks Less is More challenge, which is die cuts.

Sorry for the dark picture, it's a bit early and still cloudy out.

Die cuts are done using three different dies from A cut Above Dee's Distinctively dies. The pink paper is from Lasting Impressions on the green is from Bazzill. I added a bit of highlighting on both using Copic markers.

Sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink.

I was actually playing around with this, putting leaves and petals here and there to see if I could make it work. It's a little lopsided, but it'll do. I did pop up a couple of the leaves and petals to give it more of a 3D look. That bottom right leaf is driving me nuts, I think I'll re-work it to see if I can improve upon it.

Thanks for stopping by!
