Watercolor dragonfly

Hello everyone. Here is what I did with the watercolor CAS challenge over at The Paper Players.

Stamp is from Deep Red, dragonfly flourish. I stamped it in versamark, then heat embossed in white embossing powder.

I used distress ink in shaded lilac to color around the dragonfly and then used Zig markers to color the dragonfly itself.

On the white card base I heat embossed swirls all over the place to go with the design of the main image.

I resisted adding anything else to this to keep it as CAS as possible.

Well, that's it for today.

A card with a scene

Hello everyone. Here is my theme card for a couple of challenges this week. Simon Says Stamp wanted us to create a scene for their Wednesday challenge and over at TGIF it's summer time and sunshine.

Stamps are from Simon Says Stamps. I bought the coordinating dies too. The cloud dies are from Avery Elle. As you can see, one of them is popped up off the page to give it some dimension.

After cutting the pieces out using the dies, I stamped the bicycle and all the accessories and colored them with Copic's.

The ground and sky are sponged on and I hand drew tufts of grass.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Square hello

Hello. This weeks Freshly Made Sketch is a square card for a change and here is what I did with it.

The giant peony stamp is from Indigoblu. I used my big Misti to stamp it on water color paper and then I colored it in with a mix of reinkers and watercolors.

Sentiment and the "hello" die cut is from WPlus9. I added some sparkle to the small flowers using the Spectrum clear sparkle pen.

I think I might change this up a bit and use a black card base instead of the pink peony cardstock from PTI. I think black would make more of statement and really make it pop.  What do you think?

OK, I'm off to work. Thanks for stopping by.

RI Designer choice - It's a mans world

Hi everyone. It's designer choice over at The House That Stamps Built and Shirley is the designer with the choice. Her choice is: It's a mans world and here is what I did with it.

I used 1704-P Great blue heron. I stamped it onto water color paper and then used my Zig real brush water color markers to color him in.

The second layer is real wood paper that I've been hoarding for a while. It work really well against the black card base and my main image.

So what are you waiting for?! Why not play along with us and start stamping up a card now. We can’t wait to see your creations!
Go here http://www.thehousethatstampsbuilt.com/ to enter!

Don't forget to visit the other Rock Stars to see what they came up with for this challenge.

Holy Crap... It's A Blog Hop!

Hi everyone!

Holy Crap... It's A Blog Hop!

Please join us at The House That Stamps Built for a blog hop celebrating Repeat Impressions' newest stamp series... Holy Crap! Yup, hehe... it's true... Wendy's designed a humorous collection of stamps around something she's confessed to saying a little too often.

This new stamp series starts with a large "holy crap!" sentiment which can be paired with any of the great variety of smaller words and sentiments to create a wide range of funny cards. A few theme appropriate images are also included. Please visit Repeat Impressions' online store to check out the entire Holy Crap! collection.

So today all the RI Rock Stars are kicking off a blog hop to showcase some of the new designs and also give you an opportunity to win the stamps!

To participate in the hop all you have to do is visit The House That Stamps Built blog and the blogs of all the Rock Stars listed there. On each blog you will find a key letter. After you collect all the letters, use the letters to create the proper word and then email it to Wendy to be eligible for the blog candy.

My letter for you is S.

You must complete the hop and email Wendy the correct word no later than 5pm eastern time on Monday, July 11th. The blog candy for this hop… an unmounted sheet of the new "Holy Crap!" stamps! Wendy will announce the winner on Tuesday, July 12th on Repeat Impressions' Facebook page so please be sure to "Like" and follow them there if you don't already. https://www.facebook.com/RepeatImpressions

Patti is next up on the hop: http://cherisheachpreciousday.blogspot.com/

Also, when you are done collecting all the letters, email to:wendy@repeatimpressions.com for your chance to win! Good Luck! Here are my two cards that I made with this new set!

Color challenge

Hi everyone. It's time for a color challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. Here is the palette.

Stamp is item #10202 over at Repeat Impressions. Dragonfly is 5125-C.

I stamped the flower circle in Versafine and heat embossed with clear embossing powder so that I could color with Copic's.  Added black irRESISTible to the centers of the flowers.

Dragonfly is stamped in a light turquoise ink and then gone over with a clear spectrum glitter pen. In real life it's pretty sparkly.

The card base is black and I turned this into a square card, just to change things up a bit.  Red and turquoise layers are done with my mini perfect layer tool and the main panel is cut with a stitched square die.

That's all for today. Don't forget to drop on by the rest of the DT's blogs to see what thy did with the challenge.
