Good things....

Hi everyone! I had an opportunity to play around with a few challenges last night. Verve has a eat me, drink me inspiration challenge that was the basis for the start of my card.

All stamps and dies are from Verve.

Cupcakes are colored with Copic's and the middle one is popped up using a foam square.

To get the ombre effect on the cardstock I got out my air compressor and airbrushed with a Ciao marker. Which means that I had to manipulate it a bit with some foam squares to get it to fit into the air gun.

Stitched dies are from My Favorite Things and the stitched banner die (black cardstock) is from Simon Says Stamp.

This card is for the following challenges:
Verve Eat me, Drink me June challenge
Simon Says Stamp - make it masculine
The Friday Mashup - ombre

Poppy thank you

Hi everyone! Here is my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch. I jut pretty much followed it to a T.

Except maybe the sentiment panel is a little lower.

All stamps are from My Favorite things. I stamped the flower top with Mango Madness from Versamagic. The flower stem and leaf are stamped in Limeaid from Fresh Ink.

Green cardstock is from Bazzill. I used the smooth side instead of the textured to layer everything in. The polka dot designer paper is from A*Muse. Added everything to a white layer that is popped up on a white card base using foam tape.

This is going out to my Financial Adviser's administrative assistant. She is so worth her weight in gold and has been a huge help to me with transferring over stock certificates, etc. with my Dad's estate.

Thanks for stopping in!

Monster Birthday

Hello everyone! I paired this card today with two challenges. First it's lucky dip week over at Less is More and the theme is 2 or 4 legs. Also doing a it of paper piecing for Just us Girls.

Monster stamp(s) are from Paper Smooches.

I paper pieced him using some green designer paper from the Old World Stack from DCWV.  To get the grungy messy look behind the monster I used some distress paints and smudged them up with water and my finger.

The happy and birthday sentiment stamps are from The paper studio.

Added a black layer in back for definition and round two of the corners on the main image. This is popped up using foam tape onto a white card base.

Thanks for stopping in!

Thinking of you

Wowza, two posts in one day! Here is my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch!

I've had the leaf background stamped up and sitting in my "to make" pile for a while. I cut it down to work with this sketch. Same with the butterfly - sitting in that same pile.

The stamp and die is from Memory Box. I used some wire for the antennae and popped it up using a foam square.

The sentiment is from My Favorite Things. Bazzill green cardstock used to layer the leaf image.

OK - I think that's it for today! Better get back to my chores!

Entering this into SSS anything goes Wednesday challenge too. Thanks for stopping by!

Masculine B day card

Hi everyone! I saw the sketch over at CASe This Sketch and thought it would be perfect for a masculine birthday card.

I had to flip it just to be a bit different. The chevron's are done with a stencil, finger dauber and gumdrop green ink from MFT.

Birthday sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink and the green candy dots are from Doodlebug Designs. Ended up using some dark green cardstock from Bazzill as the card base for this.

Love how quick and CAS this turned out.

Thanks for stopping by!

Gears

Hello again. Hubs is downstairs watching a movie that I have no desire to see, so that left me with either playing games on FB or trying to see if I could find the mojo.

Less is More recipe week is to use some metal on your card. Well, how about a 2 x 5.5 inch of metal sheeting?

Used the gear embossing folder from Provo Craft and then proceeded to grunge it up using distress products.

Started off with alcohol inks in Latte, Ginger and Copper then added some black soot paint, wiped if off a bit and ended up with this. I could've gone a bit further with adding more definition on the bottom but resisted. With my luck today, figured I would've just ruined it.

Backed it onto some black cardstock and then stuck that whole lot onto a kraft card base. Birthday sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

This makes a great masculine card for my stash! Thanks for stopping by!

ETA: Adding this to AAA cards game #40 for the guys.

Ack! Where is my mojo?

Hello! Struggling to find my mojo today to create a sympathy card for a subordinate. Nothing was working. You would think that starting off with a really nice sketch from The Paper Players would make things go easy, but no.....This is the third attempt at it that I'm now showing you. I'm done! ;-) Ever have one of those days?

Flower Stamp is from Rubbernecker. It's done using some markers directly on the stamp and then misted with water to get the look.  Tim Holtz water color paper from Ranger used here. Lil' Inker rectangle stitched die used to cut it out.

Sympathy stamp is from PTI. I like the bold simplistic font on it. Colored some small satin ribbon using a Copic marker that was close in color to the flowers and added it on top of a wider piece of black satin. Tiny black pearls from Michael's used per the sketch.

I think I'll go get some Cinderella chores done instead since my creative mojo is absent. Thanks for stopping by!
