Hi everyone!  Since I'm not watching the big game or the commerical's I had some time on my hands to play with this weeks sketch over at SCS.

As you can see, I turned the sketch on it's side and then left off the grads/pearls on the left hand side. 

Stamps are from Raisin Boat. I stamped the chicken in the pot in Memento ink then colored with Copic's.  I played around a bit with the outline coloring and finally think I got it looking half way decent. Chicken wire is stamped in silver ink from Colorbox and then die cut using the fish tails dies from MFT.

Gingham designer paper is from Making Memories and layered with dark navy card stock from Bazzill. Silver ribbon used on side to go with the chicken wire.

Soft and Subtle

Hi everyone! Here's a card I completed for this weeks sketch challenge over at Split Coast Stampers.

Tree stamp is from TAC and stamped in a light gray ink in the back from Studio G which created a shadow effect. Then I used a darker gray in the front from Memento. The front trees almost look like blue spruce trees.

Next I sponged on some summer sky blue ink with a dauber and then used the dot stubby stick from Stamps By Judith to stamp the snow in white ink from Colorbox. You'll have to click on the picture to make it larger to see the effect.

Designer paper is from Memory Box and the light gray/green cardstock is from American Crafts.  Sentiment stamp is from Studio G. Square and long rectangle nesties used to cut out the main image and the sentiment panel.

Anniversary wishes

Hi all! I actually decided to play along in the weekly sketch challenge over at SCS.  It's been a long time since I've done so and I like that this weeks sketch could be used in so many different ways.

I decided to go pretty clean and simple, but you can really dress this sketch up! Sorry for the dark picture.

Vintage cream cardstock used throughout, with a little bit of shiny gold thrown in for some layers and definition.

The textile embossing folder was used to emboss the back ground layer - I have to say I think that folder and the Swiss dots are my all time favorite embossing folders. I did pop up that layer using foam tape.

Anniversary wishes sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink. Finally, I unearthed some gold cording to use to tie the bow. Not sure if I like it or not. What do you think?

Hi everyone! I just got in my stamps from the new A*Muse Studio catty! Had a lot of fun playing around with the set Marvelous Marigolds.

I combined a lot of different dies for this card too. The flower die is from Papertrey, Ink and the tessatina border is from Memory box and cut out of light green Bazzill cardstock.

I stamped the marigold in colorbox canary pigment ink. Added a few self adhesive pearls from Kaisercraft for the center of the flower that you could see. The hello sentiment is from TAC.

Designer paper is from PTI and so is the kraft cardstock.

Hi everyone! I had an opportunity to take a few minutes today and play around with this weeks sketch over at SCS. Here's what I came up with.

Stamps are from the Papertrey, Ink set called Wishing you. I stamped the tulips in Studio G white ink and then heat embossed it. It's tucked under that green striped designer paper from HOTP. I found some green card stock in my stash that matched the darker green in the dp and cut out the rectangle using the lattice spellbinders nesties.

Edge punch is from EK success and lastly I added a strip of spring green grosgrain ribbon!

I like the clean lines of this! What do you think?

Ornaments

Hello! I got a chance to play around with this weeks sketch challenge. Here's what it looks like.

I changed the direction on the sketch and my card ended up looking like this:

Stamps are from Papertrey, Ink and colored with Copic's. I also added some highlighting on the ornaments using a stardust pen. Berries are accented with stickles. Dusted off my oval nesties to cut out the main image and its layer.

Designer paper is from Kaisercraft.

Hello! Here is a card that I completed using the SCS sketch from the previous week.

Here is the sketch.

Here is what I did with it.

Leaf stamp is from Memory Box and one of my favorites to use the Marker and Huff technique to stamp with. I used Marvy Le Plume markers in Butterscotch and Dark Brown to create the look of fall. Corners are rounded (I hate my corner rounders) and layered in black cardstock.

The dark and light brown cardstock is from Hot Off The Press. I embossed and distressed the lighter brown with the linen impression plate from PTI and then distressed it with Vintage Photo ink from Ranger.

The small band in back is done using recycled packing material, the half and half die from PTI and some vintage photo distress ink.

Gold pearls added to the right hand side to finish off the card. So, tell me...what do you think of this card and be honest!

Buttterfly Medallion

Hi everyone! Today I'm showing you a card that I made for SCS sketch challenge (I never uploaded the card, tho) and I also played around with a technique that T.H. showcased a while back.


OH My - there is NO stamping on this card. Designer paper is from Memory Box called Minuet. To make the medallion I used clear packing tape, the dp and glossy accents.

I took the clear packing tape and taped off a section of the dp. Then you submerge the strip in water and peel off the paper, which leaves the translucent design. I then used the glossy accents on the fragment tag and stuck them together. This technique was so much fun and has so many cool possibilities!

The pool blue cardstock is from my scrap pile and I think it's from DCWV. White grosgrain ribbon finishes off the card.

It's your day

Hi everyone! I decided to play along with the SCS sketch challenge this week. It has a lot of great possibilities to use up some designer papers that we've been saving.

Here is the sketch.

Here is my take on it.

Designer paper is from Memory box. The stamp is a retired one from The Angel Company. I cut it out using a circle nestie and then sponged around it with Memento summer sky blue ink.

The strip ends are cut with the cornice border punch from Martha Stewart Crafts. The doily die is from Papertrey ink.

Lastly, I added three self adhesive pearls from Kaisercraft.

CAS masculine card

Hello! This is a card I made last night for the sketch challenge over at SCS. I kept it clean and simple so that a man would like it! You know how hard that can be sometimes!

The tree stamp is from Savvy stamps and its stamped in Palette fresh snow ink on the kraft cardstock. The sentiment is from the Around and About set from PTI and stamped on a window word punch. I sponged around it with the white ink and popped it up with foam tape so it would stand out from the main panel.

Designer paper is from Hot Off The Press and layered with green cardstock from Bazzill.

So what do you think? Will this be a good one for a guy?

With deepest sympathy

Continuing on in my pink and brown mood. Here's a card that I completed for the SCS Wednesday sketch challenge.

Branch stamp is from Inkadinkado and colored with Marvy markers and the huff method. Sentiment is from PTI's Asian Fusion .

The designer paper on this: Background is pure luxury from DCWV and the front panel is Memory Box Gossamer. Brown card stock is from American Crafts.

Added some pink self adhesive pearls from Kaiser Craft to finish off the card. I really like how soft and pretty this one turned out.

Greetings! Here's my card for the sketch challenge over at SCS this week!

Mr. Willie the snowman is from Plum Purdy. I stamped him in Memento and colored with Copics. Added some sparkly glitter for the snowballs and snow on his hat! Sentiment is from Papertrey Ink - Signature Christmas.

Designer paper is from K&Company. I was really disappointed in how dark this picture turned out! I bought a new OTT light bulb about a month ago and it burned out last night. I surely did not get my return on investment for that darn bulb! If I had the receipt, I would be heading back to Joann's to return it!

Fall Colors

Hi everyone! Here's my card from this weeks sketch challenge over at Splitcoast stampers.

Stamp is from Papertrey Ink - Life. I colored the stamp with a marker and did the huff method for the main panel and the inside of the card. Marvy LePlume II markers used were Pumpkin and Olive.

The designer paper is from K&Company, Tim Coffey's line from last year called Fall mat pad. I did do a little distressing around the edges with some Pumpkin spice versamagic ink to blend all the fall colors together.

Black cardstock is from PTI as well. Instead of a paper layer, I decided to use ribbon and added some self adhesive gold pearls (by Micheal's Reflections line) to the four corners.

Art Deco sketch

Hey everyone!

I participated in the sketch challenge over at Splitcoast stampers today (well, late last night) and this is what I came up with!


All stamps are from The Angel Company - Fly Fairy and Vintage Backgrounds.

The fairy lady is stamped in Memento ink twice and colored with Copic markers. I cut her out and glued her to the white panel and then added another layer of wings, which are popped up using foam tape.

Background is stamped in Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder. I randomly stamped all the collage elements from both stamp sets, which actually came out pretty good!

The cardstock is from Hot Off The Press - paper pizazz. It's their 8 x 8 cardstock for Princess collection that has so many wonderful jewel colored papers in it.

So, what do you think? This is really not my style of stamping, but decided to try something different. I think I like how this turned out.

For my dad

Hi everyone! This is what I created from the SCS sketch challenge today!


Black card stock is used for the base of this card and for all the layers. The crinkled brown in the back is packing paper that I recycled years ago because I loved the texture of it. I just found it again in my stash and put it to use on this card.

The fern stamp and sentiment are from the Masculine Motifs set from Papertrey Ink. The fern is stamped in Versamagic tea leaves. All green cardstock is from Bazzill and the black rhinestones are from Kaisercraft.

I love the clean lines of this card and how classy it looks. What do you think?

Friendship flowers

Hi everyone! It's been three weeks since I got to participate in the weekly SCS sketch challenge. I think I was going through a bit of a withdrawal! Here's this weeks card!

The Gerbera Daisy bunch is colored with Copic Markers and then cut out with a circle nestie. As you can see I cut out one of the flower stems to overhang the circle. That was close up, intense cutting! Had to get out the 2.00 readers to do that one! And there's still some white showing, dang it!

The designer paper is from Kaisercraft called Shaken not stirred. It's a 8x8 paper pad with some really nice gray, black and red papers. I had a hard time choosing the dp to go behind the circle with the gerberas - and finally just decided to keep it as plain as possible so that the daisies would pop out.

Added a few black rhinestones (also from Kaisercraft) as interest to both of the panels. The sentiment was cut out using a labels nestie and then I daubered some black around the outside edge so that it would also stand out.

So, now that I got my fix, I can move on to something else! Thanks for stopping by and please tell me what you think!

Hydrangeas

Hello everyone! I got a chance to complete this weeks card sketch over at SCS and this is what I came up with.

The Hydrangea stamps are long ago retired from The Angel Company. I colored them with shades of blue Copic Markers, cut them out with my square nesties and then layered them with enchanted evening blue cardstock from PTI. The designer paper is from Making Memories. The softness of the dp went so well with these bright bold flowers.

I decided to color another of the bigger hydrangeas and cut out a few of the petals so that I could pop it up with foam tape to add some dimension. I colored a few smaller pearls with a yellow Copic marker and used them for the center of the flowers. Finally decided to stick three more white pearls to the top right hand corner to finish the card off.

Curvy

Hey all! Here's my card I completed for this weeks SCS sketch challenge, and what a challenge it was! We are so used to straight lines, and this is all about curves.

I used my flexible ruler and a craft knife to cut out the curvy designer paper. Sanded it down in several places to even it out and then I inked it up using pure poppy palette ink that matched the colors in the dp. Four mini brads are added to anchor the ends down.

The elf is colored with Copic Ciao Markers and I added a bit of crystal art glitter on his collar and trim of his coat.

Hey all! I got a chance to play in this weeks SCS sketch challenge and here's my creation.

I decided NOT to use any Holiday stamps on this sketch (getting a littel burned out on them) and went with a generic use stamp.

I stamped the flower silhouette with versamark on vellum and embossed with glacier white embossing powder. The sentiment is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and also embossed with clear. Blue brads that match the designer paper anchor down the vellum and I curled up one corner of it to be creative.

We are expecting another wind storm (#3 this week) to hit us tonight and into tomorrow morning. But right now - the sun is out and I see blue sky! Have a great week!

Holiday Lamp Post

Greetings! Here's my card from this weeks sketch challenge over at SCS.

It took me longer to figure out what to do with the corner pieces than it did to color the image! LOL! Stamp is from Great Impressions and colored with Copic markers - many of them! I added a bit of yellow glow to the outside of the lamp and blended it in with the colorless blender. Not sure if you can really see it in this picture, but in real life it looks pretty cool! I added some sparkles with a stardust pen on the snow throughout the image.

Designer paper is from Hot Off The Press (Christmas collection for card makers) and I ran the green corners through the Victorian embossing folder and popped them up with foam tape for a bit of dimension. Yellow card stock is from American Crafts.
