World Card Making Day Card

Hi everyone! I hope you had a chance to make a card for WCMD and maybe even participated in a few challenges. I know I did! What fun!

Here's one of the cards I did!

The gerbera daisy is colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS. I used the lattice MS punch and threaded some tiny white satin ribbon through the openings. I didn't have the right color of ribbon and used a Copic Ciao Marker to color it that matches the daisy.

I also got out my scor-pal and scored some lines around the perimeter of the red designer paper. It really finished this piece off. At the last minute I decided to use the southwest corner punch on the main panel - luckily I was able to get the corners up enough after being taped down, in order to do that! Why do we always think of things after the fact???

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
Stamp - Gerbera Daisy, The Angel Company
Paper - red designer paper from BoBunny. Green designer paper from HOTP.
White card stock
White satin ribbon
Copic Ciao Marker
Prismacolor Pencils - OMS

SCS WCMD sketch challenge Poinsettia card

I had so much fun playing around in the craft room yesterday! Here's my take on the SCS world card making day sketch challenge yesterday. As you can see I colored a lot yesterday! =) It was so relaxing to sit down and play! Now I have to clean up and re-organize, as I tore up the craft room in my creative endeavors! LOL! I used Copic Ciao to color, added some yellow stickles in the center of the poinsettia (not sure if I like it or not) and then added red stickles to the berries (which I do like). I have quite a few bottles of stickles and find that I don't use them very often, and if I do, I tend to reach for the red one first. They always seem to glob up on me - therefore if I want to add a bit of sparkle, I always reach for the stardust pen first.

Well, I'm off to blog hop around and see what everyone came up with for World Card Making Day! See ya soon!

World card making day!

Hello! Today is world card making day and I have plans to spend some serious time in my craft room. Here is a card I just made for one of my co-workers who is due to have a baby at the end of this month. I was going for the classic simple card on this one. Cuttlebug swiss dots folder used on the green card stock. The rectangle is cut out and embossed using nestabilities. I colored the onesie with Copic Ciao Marker and added some stardust gel pen accents on the snaps. It is cut out and popped up with dimensionals. The white grosgrain ribbon is colored with the same color Copic Ciao Marker as the onesie.
Inside the card I carried the swiss dots over and added a folded diaper as a gift card holder. The pattern can be found on Martha Stewarts web site. The safety pin is actually a brad I found at my local Impress Rubber Stamps store. The little one medallion is embossed with silver embossing powder. I punched it out and popped it up with dimensionals.

Well, I can't wait to blog hop today to see all the creations folks are going to be doing in honor of world card making day! Hope you all have great day!
