Dragonfly thanks

Hi everyone! Today I'm showcasing one of my all time favorite TAC stamps. It's old and I think I might have gotten this one on ebay.

I stamped the fern in Memories Pale Olive chalk ink onto ivory cardstock. The sentiment is stamped and clear heat embossed onto vellum then attached over fern using green brads. Sentiment is from Verve.

The dragonfly is punched out using Martha Stewart's craft punch onto thin chipboard. Using copper alcohol ink I colored the dragonfly to look like one of those steel garden garden sculptures that rust out after a time. Added some sparkle by spritzing on some frost shimmer.

Cardstock is Bazzill green's in textures and smoothies.

Buttterfly Medallion

Hi everyone! Today I'm showing you a card that I made for SCS sketch challenge (I never uploaded the card, tho) and I also played around with a technique that T.H. showcased a while back.


OH My - there is NO stamping on this card. Designer paper is from Memory Box called Minuet. To make the medallion I used clear packing tape, the dp and glossy accents.

I took the clear packing tape and taped off a section of the dp. Then you submerge the strip in water and peel off the paper, which leaves the translucent design. I then used the glossy accents on the fragment tag and stuck them together. This technique was so much fun and has so many cool possibilities!

The pool blue cardstock is from my scrap pile and I think it's from DCWV. White grosgrain ribbon finishes off the card.

Hello! Happy Friday - wow what a week! Glad it's over and I'm 8 hours away from vacation! WooHoo!

Here's a quick card that can be used for a pick me up or sympathy card. Stamps are from PTI and the leaf is colored and outlined with Copic's.

Green cardstock is from Bazzill and the designer paper is Old World Stack from DCWV. I dusted off my corner rounder and round a few corner on this one. I actually need a new punch, as the one I have is hard to use and doesn't punch clean.

Well, I guess I better get busy scheduling some posts to appear on the blog while I'm on vacation. We're heading out in the RV for a week. Can you say relaxation?

Sad news and a dahlia!

Hi everyone! If you haven't heard the news, The Angel Company has announced that they are hanging up their wings. Below is the official announcement from CEO Mischelle Smith.

"It is with great sadness that I must announce we are hanging up our wings. These past several years our industry has faced enormous challenges and as a result, we have seen many companies close their doors. We continued to hope we could see The Angel Company through this recession and back into prosperous days and we held onto this hope as long as we could.

One of the largest challenges affecting each of us is our industry not being able to support all of the direct sales companies in our field. Even in a healthy economy, we are a niche market trying to compete for a very limited number of distributors. As a small company, this has been a grueling challenge for us. Times are tough for everyone ~ in direct sales and retail environments.

I would like to thank each of you for being an customer and Angel these past 14 years. Indeed, it has been a pleasure to serve you. -Mischelle"

I will continue to use my favorite TAC stamps in my many creations. I was always just a hobby angel, buying mostly for myself and supporting my love of stamps. This gives me an opportunity to explore other avenues for my hobby and add to my ever growing collection of stamps. I have a feeling I'll just support other demo's for a while though!

Nautical Masculine Birthday

Hi everyone! Here is a card I recently did for a Victorine Originals Birthday challenge.

I did a lot of experimenting and playing around with this one. The back ground is created using the rope stamp from the nautical set from VO. I stamped it in Palette fresh snow, heat embossed it with clear embossing powder and then used the vintage photo distress ink to distress the kraft card stock a bit more.

The tag and the left strip are created using Post-it note tape and vintage photo distress ink. I've been seeing all these rolls of washi tape on Pinterest and even some DIY versions and started playing around.

To create the tag I put three strips of the Post-it Note tape on a piece of cardstock and distressed it with the vintage photo using the sponge applicator. I then ran it through the CB and cut out the tag using the die from Quickutz. It sort of looks like wood! I recycled the "rope" from a Life is Good Tag that I had saved and tied some knots into it and attached it to the left panel.

The circle's are cut out using the spellbinders dies and the Birthday sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Ok people! Here's the second card I made with this set and the Gift With Purchase stamp.

The small flower within the box is the GWP stamp. The bigger one in the middle I created using stamps from the Be Fabulous set. I stamped the box and then masked it off to get the flower stamped in about the same position as the smaller version.

All are colored with Copic markers. The blue swiss dot paper is from Bazzill that I just picked up from my LSS. The edge is cut with a die from PTI. I colored the small rickrack with the B0000 Copic marker that I used in the back ground on the flowers.

Yellow, white and blue are one of my favorite color combo's to use. I think it's so crisp and clean.

Hi everyone! Mr. Mailman just delivered more new stamps from The Angel Company! I've been playing around for days! WooHoo!

Stamped the flower in Palette fresh snow ink and then outlined them with a T1 Copic Marker. Used a sponge dauber to add the white ink around the edge of the card.

Copic markers used to color the flower and then I did a bit of fussy cutting. It's popped up with foam tape. Sentiment and the bee are stamped in Palette Noir.

The base of the card is dark brown which is a bit hard to see in the photo. I completed another card using this same set and one of our Gift With Purchase stamps which I will show you later in the week.
