Card Sketch #88 - some blog candy too!

Hello, and happy Labor Day!

Here is card sketch #88 - measuring the normal A2 size.

The challenge for you on this sketch is to NOT use any designer paper, but to create your own!

The stripes are done using a stamp from the set Linear Sentiments from The Angel Company. I used a Le Plume II marker in dusty rose to color the stamp, huffed and carefully lined it up. The same marker is used on the ribbon stamp (also from TAC).

The flowers in the main panel are colored with the same marker, but I did the vase in prisma color pencils and blended it OMS. I added a dot of black glaze gel pen to the centers of the flowers.

Since I just turned over 20,000 hits on my blog and celebrated my birthday, I thought I'd do a little drawing for some blog candy! But - there's a catch! Notebook

Here's a project that I just completed using a kit I found at my local Big Lot's! This was marked $2.50 and the chipboard and hardware alone is worth more than that! Needless to say I picked up two of them!



















The Notebook kit came with the following supplies and measures 5 1/4 x 5 1/4:

• 1 chipboard cover
• 2 chipboard squares
• 1 metal clip
• 1 note pad
• 10 printed papers
• 1 chipboard punch-out sheet (frame, ribbon slide, photo corner, file label)
• 1 pocket punch-out
• 1 sticker sheet
• 24" of assorted ribbon
• 11" of binding tape
• 4 mini brads
• 2 brads

Not bad for $2.50!!!

I added a few other embellishments and ribbon, but what a fun project! All paper is from The Angel Company called Amberely Grace. I painted the chipboard frame a cream color to match the colors in the dp. I didn't do a very good job coloring the CB ribbon slide - I should of primed it first so that the color of the ink wouldn't have gotten so dark. I used Kinderbet alpha stamps to stamp the notes on the ribbon - and Swirls are stamped on the pocket card on the inside. When I took these pictures the glue was still on the wet side on the ribbon - lesson learned - wait until dry to do a photo! The kit is called Gallery J by colorbok.

Friends Forever SCS sketch

Hi everyone! Here's my card for this weeks sketch challenge over at SCS, which you can find here.

What a great sketch - very versatile!

I used the Penny Black Salutations stamp set for the main panel. The flower is stamped in Colorbox sky blue and the sentiment in Palette Noir.

I used the slit punch to make the scalloped border out of Core'dinations card stock. The designer paper is from colorbok that came in a kit that I just found really cheap! I added some half self adhesive pearls from Kaiser Kraft on the scallops and the flower centers.

Card Sketch #87 - Scraps

This sketch came about by accident - totally! I was making another card and had these scraps in a pile on my counter. I looked down and thought - wow - that looks pretty cool!

So, that's how I got the name of this card! =) The designer paper is from The Angel Company called Angelee, and the card stock coordinates with the colors in the DP.

I used the die cut round tag that came in the designer paper pack, stamped my sentiment and added a big brad. I decided that the papers needed a bit of distressing to make them stand out a bit and edged them with Palette Burnt Umber. The paper piercing was a last minute addition that finished things off!

Well, we are off for a three day weekend of camping and fishing! The weather is suppose to cooperate - but my fingers are definitely going to be crossed for good luck! I hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

I made this today for the technique lovers challenge over on SCS.

The Angel Company makes a great treat set called Sweet Goodies that I just had to use with this! The square holiday greetings was perfect for the top of this box and coordinates with the mega square punch nicely!

The band around the center is also a TAC set called Holly Swirls. I added some liquid pearls in Ruby Red for the holly berries! As soon as I can find some red foil covered chocolate kisses, they are so going in here! I thought this came out kind of cute and thought I'd share with you. Card Sketch #86

Hi everyone! Here is sketch #86 - measuring a normal A2 size. The panels are 1 1/2 inches x 5 1/2 inches.



I used some of my pearl paper stash for this one! The dove and the sentiment are stamped in versamark and then embossed with silver embossing powder. In real life this is very pretty and would make a wonderful wedding or anniversary card.



I used a versamark pen and a ruler to outline the outside for the embossing around the edges.

We had thunderstorms last night - which is so rare in Western Washington! The last few days it has been very hot - so it's no wonder we had flashes of light and loud noises! It woke my DH up, but I slept right through it! Well, I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Cut out leaves

Here's a card that came about while playing around. I like how the leaves turned out, but the brown sponging doesn't look all that appealing! It looks sort of muddy to me. I would appreciate any comments, here.


The leaves were colored with Prisma color pencils and blended with odorless mineral spirits. It took a lot of work to cut these leaves out and have them be in line, so to speak. The sentiment is from Savvy stamps and the leaves are a retired set from The Angel Company.
